Can I really call Canada?

I just realized that my friend who has been calling me for 3 months has a 3 digit area code just like the US. I tried calling him using a 1+area code+number (which is just like our numbers) and it went through so I called my cell company and they said it doesn't cost any extra to call Quebec than it does within the US. Is this really correct? I know I can't call Mexico from my cell phone.
Has anyone called Canada and it didn't cost extra? I don't trust my cell company because the CSRs are in the Philipines and have given me wrong information many times.

RE: What the f is wrong with people?

Treated how? Protected? Yes absolutely. I have a dog. I walk him twice a day and more when I am not working. I take him around the streets near my house and to a local park. If I am gone all day I arrange for my neighbor to let him out into the backyard and watch him (he is blind now and has fallen into the pool 4 times and almost drowned) I have never tied a dog up. I have never left a dog outside all day because they bark and bother the neighbors and I walk my dog on a leash. And yes, if you mean would I like to be walked on a leash if I were a dog absolutely. My dog is a terrier, he takes on dogs 3 times his size and will fight until they kill him. He has gotten away from me several times and would have been hurt if I hadn't gotten there in time. He needs to be on a leash this is for his protection and the protection of other dogs. I have had dogs since I was 7 and am now 45-not one single dog of mine has ever been injured. Your roommate's dog must be in agony at this point. Where I live he could be sued for letting the dog off the leash.

RE: What the f is wrong with people?

Sadly, yes we do. I live in a huge city and people here have no common sense. I lost track of how many children died this summer being left in hot cars. I'm a political conservative who generally wants less government not more but since most people don't have the sense God gave them, yes they need to be forced by law to do the right thing to protect the children and animals under their "care."

RE: What the f is wrong with people?

No it doesn't but that is why people make and follow laws to protect animals. As a public school teacher I have my record checked for criminal convictions and I pass a TB test and physical exam. This is to protect the children under my care and I do willingly (by the way for those who favor vouchers there are no such requirements of private school teachers in my state.) Children in their natural state are trusting and free and must be protected. We no longer live in a wilderness and dogs must be protected from being hit by cars or abused. I can't do anything about sick people (except hopefully find and prosecute them) but I can protect defenseless creatures, children, the disabled and the elderly. Anyway, anyone who lets animals roam bears 1/2 the responsibility imo. I could write about some things I've had to deal with as a teacher and in my volunteer work rescuing animals but they would make people literally sick to their stomachs. This guy is still defending his roommate. His roommate's dog should be taken away.

RE: What the f is wrong with people?

Wow, does this piss me off. To quote you "what the f is wrong with your roommate?" There are leash laws and those are to protect the dogs as much as people. What kind of person lets a dog roam the streets? I have had dogs and other animals my whole life and I have worked with animal rescue groups. People like your roommate are irresponsible and make me sick.

RE: whoom do u like INNER WORLD?

Do you speak Dhivehi because your English scares me. Where did you get your degree?

RE: Anyone else have elementary age kids?

I've been a primary teacher for 20 years and I can tell you that the children whose parents don't put up with it don't get an attitude and those who do have some very difficult times ahead. 100% of the time when I meet the parents of kids with behavior problems I can see where it comes from. Some parents tell me they have a hard time at home with the child but in school with me that child is well-behaved and that's good parenting as well-they know what behavior is expected of them. So ask the teacher if your kids are acting this way in school maybe its only at home. Now is the time to set boundaries and let them know the limits as it will only get worse.

RE: Help.... I Don't Think I Am Well...??!!

The combination sounds like stress but the pins and needles could be neurological. Neither thing is to be ignored palpitations if not stress related are not good.

RE: Women and correct body type ??!! What I dont understand ...

That's because you haven't been following the threads referred to. My point is that I have found that people who feel apart often put themselves on the outside. Being unkind does not endear people to one another. Sarcasm is funny when gentle but must be used carefully and sparingly. If this were Usenet it wouldn't be a problem, but its a dating site and being rude or hurtful doesn't draw people to a person.

RE: Women and correct body type ??!! What I dont understand ...

Well, he suffers from depression so one would think he has some compassion but he hasn't hesitated to make fun of people whose views are different. Talking about picking his toes and comparing it to reading tarot. I don't think anyone would dare make fun of xtian's spiritual views. So if he feels "apart" perhaps that is because he holds himself so.

RE: I don't like to spend the rest of my life alone I need to share, to be loved and love in return.

Yes, but its much more satisifying to blame your misery on someone else than to have to take responsibility for it.

RE: Money Wasters Are u one of them?

The secret to being frugal is to look around you at all the old people who didn't save their money when they were your age and what they are (or are not) doing. It's quite a wakeup call.

For some reason people are always focused on his obscenities but he has written some hauntingly beautiful poems without a single obscene word. He was one of the great poets of all time but his language stops some people from appreciating his art.

RE: Financial Meltdown

I have been following the comming global financial crises for quite some time now.

I am very concerned. You should be also. Are you PREPARED?

It has been predicted that the crises would begin in the United States
as a gradual occurrence thru the fall of the housing market. We have been seeing this take place. This is the lead-in to the BIG CRASH which is supposed to take place the end of this month, SEPTEMBER 2008.

The U.S. government did not bail out Lehman Brothers bank.
Today, stocks have fallen on Wall Street tremendously.

The World has been watching and waiting for the U.S. financial crises.
It will effect the entire world. Many countries have been preparing and have plans to try to not get hit as hard.

I have read many of the speeches given by Mervyn King, head of the Bank Of England. He gave warning to the people last January, to SAVE money and spend LESS and to prepare for the hit.

But here in America, we have been told to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND and the government even gave tax payers extra money to spend!!!

Why is the U.S. presenting a false front to its people? Why have we not been warned of the comming financial crash? Why have they been pretending that everything is OKAY?

People, I advise you to brace yourselves and get ready for the hardest times this world has ever seen. The time is upon us. Prepare!

I'm sick of reading this c###. Nobody was held at gunpoint and forced to use their credit cards. The US has long had the lowest savings rate of any developed nation in the world. Intelligent adults know what they need to do: save money, put something away for retirement, invest in real estate if possible, don't use credit cards etc. etc. If you haven't done this there is no one to blame but yourself.

RE: Am I shallow?.......

I'm 5'3" and dated one guy who was 5'4" (the best body of any guy I ever dated and he was 10 years older than me) and another who was 5'5" gorgeous French Canadian. I don't think you're shallow since everyone has their preferences but if you can get beyond it you'll meet some yummy guys.
