RE: What is....

There would be less to spread if you and your ilk would refrain from letting it drool out of your gaping apertures you know.
The spreading is done to best facilitate its absorption into the earth similar to mulching and the process of fertilization.
Amazing how quick this type is to respond to anything that makes them have to look in a mirror?

RE: What is....

The woman of my dreams and the rest of my life with her in four days (or so... damn her teasing mind) easily covers the best.
The trolls and angry people who have nothing better to do with their lives. Even more reprehensible than scammers in my mind. At least the majority of scammers don't befoul threads with vitriol. Oh well I suppose they are here just to let us all know that no matter how bad things seem it could yet be worse. We could wake up as one of them and have to live with that shame forever.

RE: Could most humans be already robots, and we don't realise it?

I live in Canada so the prospect of sharing an existence with drones is eaily alleviated by traveling 10 minutes in any direction to avoid the consumerist mass that defacates idiocy on this globe. So I suppose I am on no side and that is the only choice for individualism.
I am more at home in nature than with the overwhelming stupidity of human congestion and the autonomous nature of this beast. Fortunately we here have more fresh water than the rest of the planet combined and enough trees to hide it all. Oh yeah and the weather keeps all but the most persistent away for 6 months of the year.

RE: Could most humans be already robots, and we don't realise it?

Oddly if you think about it looking down on the mass of humanity from a very high vantage point the resemblance between the human condition and an ant hill are strikingly similar. Technological ants of course. dunno

RE: Is There Something in the CS Water?

Shake harder damn you...grin

RE: Is There Something in the CS Water?

See what happens when I take a few day sabbatical? Damn the work I have to undo now... where to begin?

Okay everyone pay attention here please. Pick up your monitor (whole computer if on a laptop and shake real hard up and down or side to side (whichever is easier). The screen is just like an Etch-a-Sketch and the idiocy will vanish just like that. Barring this of course violent enough shaking will disconnect the monitor (hopefully destroying the cord) and when you get a replacement in a few days (due to the supply and demand ideal and the sudden increase in demand for cords) they should all have been returned to the asylums from whence they escaped.
Best wishes...

Not to get into the semantics here but the creators of the matrix are a bunch of drolling idiots and plagiarist thieves. Ironic how the trilogy followed the arrival of the Vertigo series The Invisibles? Those morons should have just taken the precept from Phillip K d*ck and made their own story rather than chaging a few names and places. OK off my soapbox but I still hate them.scold

Hiya sweetie!hug

Four days away from the greatest happiness of my life I think. It is still a secret so I can never be sure though because she is so damnably devious about teasing me...
Well I can't quite vouch for the good part of the brain but I can assure you it is virtually new. Just out of the package once or twice a year to make sure it has all its parts (and a quick dusting).
Not quite the sex thread you need to get your mojo going but it is closer.hug

I have a brain I haven't used in years?
I have been told many times that my eyes are unforgetable.
My neck makes my sweetheart weak in the knees
My calves are like mimi melons (I have walked everywhere for all my life)
From working in the mine I have iron hard Popeye-like forearms.
6'3" inches tall so the height could be donated too.
I have deep empathy, emotional intelligence, and a biting sense of humour that could go too.
The only thing I cannot part with is my heart, sould and the naughty bits they already are completely owned.

Of course any parts that could be used come with a waranty and 30 day money back guarantee. Cloned parts only though the entirety of the original package is property of my Love.cool

RE: Names and friends

He seems like the sort of person to whom friendship is but the chance to mock and ridicule others for what he perceives as their failings. Especially in the company of others and likely for the attention it gets him. I would not be surprised if he does the same about others while in different company. Not a friend by any means and hardly worth the loss. If there is some sort of bond that is deeper between the two of you perhaps just limiting his contact might suffice but I don't believe it could work unless he matures enough to stop acting like an a**.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Prayer
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy.
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life.
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for but got everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among all people, most richly blessed.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

I Am
I was regretting the past and fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking.
My name is I AM!
He paused.
I waited.
He continued.
When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard.
I am not there.
My name is not I Was.
When you live in the future with its problems and fears,
it is hard.
I am not there
My name is not I Will Be.
When you live in this moment,
It is not hard.
I am here.
My name is I AM!

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

The book is merely another means of diluting the truth. For all you need to know of God look to His Word and pray. He will guide you to where you should be.
When you are looking for a good pizza recipe is it neccesary to study the origin of wheat or peperoni? Or do you just go to a cookbook and find the one that helps you make the pizza? When you look for understanding of God go to His Word and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to its truth.hug

Faith vs. Hierology

The Word is the Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. It is in all of the Lord’s creation and is abundantly rich enough for all. A thousand names for an apple but it is still the same thing regardless of how we call it. God is the same and He is the truth.

Faith vs. Hierology

There is a substantial difference between the two. Faith is an intimate relationship with the creator, and Hierology is the beliefs and doctrine of a people.
Faith is universal and is spoken with the soul. Hierology is an accumulation of the past accounts of one's people, hence it is derived from one's environment. As the environment is merely a creation of the Lord, comparing the two or confusing them is tantamount to comparing ink to the writing.
Faith is instilled in us through our connection with the Holy Spirit, and as such has no personal issues. It is pure and unfailing, and perfect. The Lord speaks to us through the medium of the Holy Spirit because we are creatures of our senses. Sensation separates one from reality, and colours our perception of what is true. Conglomerations of humans have coexisted striving side by side for identity and have finely delineated their differences to remain distinct. Enough distinction and we become something more than mere members of the herd. Children of all types strive naturally to define themselves as individual from their parents to one degree or another.
In systems of multitudinous coexistence, there becomes the need for leaders to drive the masses along the lines of security, for family longevity, social uniqueness, and success in a very competitive world. These leaders define their peoples through doctrine and tradition, which becomes their hierology.
Faith gets intertwined here as the emptiness in one's self demands identity. A hole incapable of being filled by worldly things or matters, and as such demanding of its own attentions. When this occurs it gets thrown under the strictures of the doctrine and becomes an important factor in the definition of a people. All are subject to Faith, and to keep coherence and congruity amongst a people there must be a strongly delineated format for Faith and hence we have the birth of individual beliefs on the matter of Faith, coloured by those that lead and have gone before. The basic thread of Faith remains unchanged but as time passes it becomes coloured to the standard of the individual grouping of peoples.
Peoples in ancient times living under the 'guidance' of some master eventually are freed of their yoke of bondage as usurpers and tyrants all fall to the children they breed. Occasionally the individual groups are free to wander away to find their own identity again. These groups can live mere miles apart and maintain enough identity to form separate languages over time when originally they had been sublimated into the languages of their rulers. They take portions of their native tongues and carry with them the dialectical attributes of their given tongue. Each choosing what to keep and what to discard, typically the portions closest in resemblance to their original are kept and the rest discarded. All of the individual characteristics of their identity are thusly coloured by this situation and their hierology digresses from the 'pure' form, which initiated with their tribe.
Many religions have varying degrees of similarity and looking back it is quite easy to see where these affinities come from. Once these differing peoples come to recognize each other, they see the analogous diatribes narrowly defining them as unique. Thus they focus on the differences between the two to maintain their exclusivity. And thus are born the myriad of differing political stances of faith.
Not once through all the political fornication has the ideal of Faith been compromised except through the individual perception.
Based on the differing strains of identity, we should remain aware that we are all brothers and sisters of the One Faith and as such have no need to obey the worldly sin of pride, and therefore no need to compete to prove our own hierology to be the only one. We need to focus on the Faith, which has remained unchanged for all of time, and ignore the tiny pocket beliefs, which circumnavigate the truth.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

There is an offshoot of Christianity called the Prieure de Sion that has a church in Rennes le Chateau in France with statuary of Christ and Lucifer holding up the mantle to enter the church. The book the Holy Blood the Holy Grail covers much of this mystery in great detail as does a BBC documentary. To me it is merely a secular order opposed to the Roman Catholic Church who managed to find some documentation that denounces their hierarchy, and they use this blackmail the RC Church into letting them propogate and create yet more division in the real church.
Why bother yourself with questions like that when it is all we as humans can do to follow the simplest of God's commandments? Do not let these things bother you as they have no bearing on the here and now and only waste precious time best spent seeking the Word.hug

All answers will be given in the proper time. Trust in the Lord.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Twisting the Word of God is a habit far too detrimental for humans. The Word has been around with us as long as we have been here. Hence all the previous incarnations of the events written in the Bible. The lost 'myths' of the past incorporated by the enemy to seduce believers away from the truth. Written language only carries so much of it but communication was o*al for far longer than the written word. The Bible was given to us to coordinate the Word of God into a solid resource and even then it has been manipulated to some degree by differing faiths to best portray their superior knowledge and righteousness.
The dictionary is a hate filled book too if you look in the right places.

What is baptism for the dead mentioned in 1 Cor. 15:29?
"Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?" (1 Cor. 15:29, NASB).

Numerous explanations have been offered for this verse ranging from the inane to the sophisticated. Mormonism (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), in particular, has claimed that this verse supports their view of baptism for the dead. In their practice, individuals go to their local Mormon temple, dress appropriately for a baptism, representatively adopt the name of a person who has died, and then the Mormon is baptized in water for that deceased person. This way, the dead person has fulfilled the requirements of salvation in the afterworld and can enjoy further spiritual benefits in the spiritual realm.

But, the Mormons are incorrect. They have usurped this verse and taken it out of context. So, let's examine 1 Cor. 15 briefly so we can see what Paul is talking about when he mentions baptism for the dead.

In Verses 1-19, the fact of Christ's resurrection is detailed by Paul. Beginning in verse 20 and going through verse 23, Paul speaks about the order of the resurrection. Christ is the first one raised -- in a glorified body -- and then who are His at His return. Next, verses 24 - 29 mention Christ's reign and the abolition of death. This is when this controversial verse occurs: "Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?"

Just north of Corinth was a city named Eleusis. This was the location of a pagan religion where baptism in the sea was practiced to guarantee a good afterlife. This religion was mention by Homer in Hymn to Demeter 478-79.2 The Corinthians were known to be heavily influenced by other customs. After all, they were in a large economic area where a great many different people frequented. It is probable that the Corinthians were being influenced by the religious practices found at Eleusis where baptism for the dead was practiced.

Paul used this example from the pagans in 1 Cor. 15:29, when he said, "...if the dead are not raised, then why are they baptized for the dead?" Paul did not say we.1 This is significant because the Christian church was not practicing baptism for the dead, but the pagans were.

Paul's point was simple. The resurrection is a reality. It is going to happen when Jesus returns. Even the pagans believe in the resurrection, otherwise, why would they baptize for the dead?

However, some are not convinced by this argument and state that the word "they" is not in the Greek and, therefore, Paul is not speaking about the pagans.. Let's take a look.

Literally, the verse is translated as "Since what will do the being immersed on behalf of the dead if wholly dead not are raised why also are they immersed on behalf of them."

The issue here is the word, "baptizontai" -- "they are baptized." It is the present, passive, indicative, 3rd person, plural. In other words, it is THEY ARE BEING BAPTIZED or, THEY ARE BAPTIZED.

I -- first person singular
you (singular) -- second person singular
he/she/it -- third person singular
we -- first person plural
you (plural) -- second person plural
they -- third person plural

It is the latter form, the third person plural (they) which the verb "baptizo" is in. Therefore, the best translation is "THEY are baptized."

Footprints in the Sand

One night a woman had a dream. She dreamed
she was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from her life.
For each scene she noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to her, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of her life flashed before her,
she looked back at the footprints in the sand.
She noticed that many times along the path of
her life there was only one set of footprints.
She also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in her life.
This really bothered her and she
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My daughter, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites : for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen : for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Keys to Successful Prayer:

1. Be specific and get the scriptures relevant to what you want. Preparation time.
2. Ask God for what you want. John 16:23-24. According to His Word. Then believe that you have received once you ask.
3. Maintain a positive attitude in the face of the enemy's assault.
4. Guard your mind. Cast down every thought that doesn't obey the Word of God. Fight thoughts of doubt with the Word.
5. Meditate the word of God.
6. Continually give thanks to God for what He is giving you.
Make every prayer a statement of faith.

Things to Do After You Pray:

1. Pray in a different way. Remind God what it is that you asked for.
2. Remind God what it is that His Word says. Isaiah 43:25
3. Tell God what you expect.
4. Spend time thanking Him.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Hearing God

Prayer is two-way communication. God wants to speak to us when we meet with him in prayer. His desire to speak to us is far greater than our desire to hear from him. He is not going to make it difficult. Often God makes it too simple, and we can miss what he is saying to us because we are seeking the wrong thing - an obviously supernatural voice - audible, and preferably from a six foot angel dressed in white, so that there is not the slightest doubt that it is God speaking to us! We should take comfort from Samuel, who took three attempts before he was able to recognise God's voice speaking to him.
Remember that God wants us to listen to him. In Proverbs we read "Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favour from the Lord." (Proverbs 8:34) and Jesus said "My sheep listen to my voice." (John 10:27)

God speaks to us in many ways. Here are some of them :

Through the Bible. The Bible is God's living word. We should not be surprised that when we read a passage there is something in it which jumps out at us, that is particularly relevant to our situation. Particular verses come into our minds as we pray, and God will use some of them to speak to us. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that "the word of God is living and active" and "sharper than any double edged sword." Clearly we need to be reading the bible regularly if God is to use it to speak to us.
Through Others God can use others in unremarkable ways such that they themselves are often unaware that they are being used. We can recognise significance in their words or actions, or in their timing. A series of coincidences becomes God-incidences!
To us in our hearts. When God speaks to us as we pray it can be similar to the "voice" of our conscience. Over time we come to recognise God speaking in our thoughts and placing things onto our minds. This will take practice, and there will be times when you are unsure whether it is God or your own thoughts.
Through words and pictures. Through the Holy Spirit, God can give us certain pictures, visions or words. We may understand the meaning of these immediately, or they may require sharing with others, so that someone else can explain them to us, or God may reveal it to us over time.
Sometimes when we pray God can be silent - we can listen yet hear nothing. At these times it may be up to us to respond to what he has already spoken to us by putting it into practice in our lives. However, we should test things that we believe have come from God. I Thessalonians 5:19 says "Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything." Whilst we should believe that the word of God is active today, and that God wants to communicate with us, it is only wise to check out what we believe God may be saying to us. These words don't carry the same weight of scripture, and do need to be weighed carefully. Otherwise we run the risk of believing something is from God, waiting for him to fulfil it, and being disappointed when that doesn't happen, and feeling let down by God. Whilst the principal test is whether something is in line with scripture, God will not give us any words which are not in line with the Bible, His Word; it is also useful to share the message with other mature Christians for their reflection and discernment.

Pointers for Prayer : Hearing God takes practice. Do make sure that you leave some time for God to speak to you in your prayer time, and do ask him to speak to you - tell him that you want to hear his views and that you seek his will.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

The World is not ruled by God and the voices of the enemy are many and diverse. They are loud and raucous. The difficulty is that the Lord speaks in a tiny voice from within. As we are far to used to listening from the outside we often miss His Word.
When you feel His voice within and doubt that it is from him there is one test alone to determine its origination. Test what the voice says against the Bible. The Word of the Lord is immutable and firm.
The closer you become to God the harder the devil attacks. When this occurs just do the following:

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high .
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

God and Jesus do not want us to follow any denomination. The rules he gives us are simple enough.

The 10 Commandments - God's Revelation in the Old Testament
The 10 Commandments are found in the Bible's Old Testament at Exodus, Chapter 20. They were given directly by God to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai after He had delivered them from slavery in Egypt:

"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

The 10 Commandments - Christ's Summation in the New Testament
About 1,400 years later, the 10 Commandments were summed up in the New Testament at Matthew 22, when Jesus was confronted by the religious "experts" of the day:

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

A reflective reading of Christ's teaching reveals that the first four commandments given to the children of Israel are contained in the statement: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." It continues that the last six commandments are enclosed in the statement: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
