There is little that I can agree with in your post, Remembrance Day, may be full of "Pomp and Circumstance", its a good way to show our respect, its what we do here in the UK and its done with deep humility.
But in no way does it attempt to divide, it is a mark of respect for all those who have died in action, at no time does a comment of winners or losers enter the thoughts of those showing respect.
In some circumstances, such as yours, a single person can make a huge impact on your life, but I think most are affected by almost everyone who touches their lives, My parents have steered me most of my life but others such as past partners and work colleagues have also had an influence.
And sometimes, you can look back and realise that some small almost insignificant event, changed the direction of your life.
Voluntary as opposed to involuntary, that is the question, whether those safeguards of safeguards will actually stand up against a state that has a dictatorship is indeed a moot point
Its so sad to my mind that so little has been learned, we have this service every year and each time more and more names are added to the list of those who have died in action.
When oh when will the governments of this world realise enough is enough
I can't say I am very impressed with my government, happy to allow terrorists in but a harmless intelligent woman who could have become a valued member of society, Hell no. and of course they keep all the money it cost for just applying for a visa. Sorry if I sound bitter, but I am, the whole visa system stinks in this country.
Well it became obvious that she would not be allowed here and I would not get work there so after about a month we agreed to just be friends and go our separate ways
Oh it can grow believe me, I started chatting with a lady in Crimea in June last year, in Aug I meet her, she tried to get a visa to come to the UK that Nov for two weeks, was turned down. so we met in Turkey for a week, Bliss, then I went over again at xmas and stayed 4 weeks, again bliss, applied again for visa, turned down again and since then it drifted apart, real shame, she was a doll and such a brain, her knowledge on Russian/Ukraine history was immense, we chatted for hours and hours, oh well good memories.
A trick I learnt from a Spanish wine guy, if the wine is a little acid/tanic stir it with a metal knife, the metal removes some of the tannins, try it.
As long as one or the other have agrred that if things get really serious they will move, then I think a LDR can work, but that moving point has to be sorted very early i the relationship, or tears will occur
Then go round to all the CEO's of the major companies and tell them that if they support you, you will do anything they ask, like................. give some land to a Building Company, Doesn't matter if its not yours, just tell him anyway, its not like your going to keep all these promises is it
OR
Tell the CEO of an Electric company if he supports you, then you'll ensure he gets to have loads of nuclear powerstations
It also helps if you seal these deals with a large cash payment, they like that
I am not religious in the common sense of the word, but that is a truly lovely story, whatever your belief or non belief, it would be good to know that a trusted and loved pet would accompany you to whatever exists after death. Thanks for that
RE: I have a glass of wine...
Yep all gone, but keep it quiet, they may not have noticed, wink wink
