I agree entirely with your post, I am very very fortunate, I have travelled all over Europe including Eastern Europe and Russia, I have lived and worked in Canada and America and I was born in Africa, in Kenya.
When I was in the US I loved every minute I was there, I loved your work ethic, your lifestyle and the people, I admire completely your loyalty and pride in your country, something sadly lacking in England, did you know we are not allowed to fly the Union flag in certain cities her in England, in case it causes offence, imagine if you were not allowed to fly the S&S banner. We have many things wrong here in Europe, and yes we do get to see far more of the problems our European cousins face than you will in the States, so I guess we take it for granted that you as Americans understand as much about our world as we do about yours.
We have all I think learnt from our discussion tonight.
I'm not suggesting any change to history, just that instead of just picking certain events out of a countries history does not give a balanced view, if you read the entire history of events you will understand where I am coing from and why I reacted as I did when the jibe was first posted, it was done in a very underhand way, like blaming you for the way the native American was treated in the 19th century.
There are also several hundred sites bad mouthing McCain, but you don't believe all of them, because you know its media hype, which sells better than the truth
I would add my comments to Sommars. Your Pride in your county is commendable, I wish I had as much pride in mine, I don't, In my case I think our government has destroyed the backbone of what was once a great country, it all boils down to Politics Kansan, yours and ours, once we can have leaders that actually care for their country as much as the people who live there, then we can welcome a new and peaceful time ahead. but I fear it will be a long time coming.
You are also forgetting that history and the movies are two different worlds, and that most movies are made in the US. So its easy to see how many could be confused about fact and fiction.
Not quite as cut and dried as that, Russia agreed that Ukraine could become break away but only if the Russian navy remained in Sevastopol, The Crimea is very pro Russia, the rest of Ukraine is less so and is leaning towards Europe, however, the fly in the ointment, is that Crimea was a province of Turkey, they gave it to Russia on the agreement that it will always remain as a part of Russia otherwise it was to revert back to Turkey.
A least that was what I was told when I stayed with a Russian family in Sevastopol for three weeks at the beginning of this year.
My view on it is quite simply no, loads of sabre rattling, but mainly the Russians like the British and loath the USA, they have a great fear that the US will attempt to get there hands on Russian natural resources.
If however, the Ukraine's do eject the Russian navy from Sevastopol, then we could see a real fight between Russia and Nato countries.
And I thought you had come round to check the meters, not to see all my imperfections, Shame on you for deceiving a poor old man just trying to pull a bit of skirt
I was asked in one relationship, about 3 years into it, to act out her fantasy, I tried but there was a degree of violence attached to it that I was not comfortable with so stopped, it caused some friction between us, for quite a while until we were able to discuss it and realise that sometimes fantasies need to stay as a fantasy
RE: Should we in the rest of the world be scared of USA?
