I define it on how my children turned out and I couldn't be prouder of either of them.

I have had a succesful career, and chose to change it to have a different lifestyle abroad, so guess I can't complain.

Think the influence of parental approval depends alot on where you come from and cultural differences between countries.

When a parents normally disapproves its generally out of concern as they say 'love is blind' and often outsiders see things we don't.

I believe all a parent can do is say what they think if asked, but accept their childs decision. jmo

as you know I lived there loved the country but living there is different if you have to earn a living its very hard.

Also found the people working in the tourism very false because the seasons are short so they will do anything to get money for the winter.

People who did not work in tourism were lovely.
