I believe that there are many superstitious people in this world. But no, I don't believe in superstitions myself. And I happen to love black cats! I've owned 4 of them in my lifetime so far.
I'm very in favor of the Second Amendment here in the US, and the right of people all over the world to keep and bear arms. I used to be my county coordinator for a group called the Second Amendment Sisters, and taught women defense shooting and concealed carry.
Why do I believe in it so much? Because the first thing that every dictator has done before subjugating a people or country has been to take away their right to keep and bear arms. Take away our guns, we have no more protection for our voice.
When they took the 4th Amendment, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs. When they took the 6th Amendment, I was quiet because I am innocent. When they took the 2nd Amendment, I was quiet because I don't own a gun. Now they have taken the 1st Amendment, and I can only be quiet. – Lyle Myhr
I agree, but do believe that they've visited us. I also believe that there have been cover ups of that evidence by our military and government at Roswell and other sites.
98% of pilots believe in UFOs and aliens, most of them have served in the Air Force, and they're pretty aware of what's in the skies with them when they're flying. I know, I'm a pilot's daughter.
GF, I like a woman who knows what she wants, and is concise about it!
I need a man who can match the life within me! My equal, who can walk beside me, not behind or in front of me.[/quote] My bad...that was about who I'm looking for, not what.
Believe me, SB, I've seen the bad in humanity myself...all too much of it in my life...and yet, my faith in the general god of humanity remains intact.
I'm glad that my friend HL has been able to restore yours. You seem like a good man that I've liked since you came into the forums for your sense of humor and for being so real. I wish the two of you the best.
And the dribble-spouting may wear off over time, or it may not...and it's best when it doesn't. That's what I wish for both of you.
Interesting post, and again I agree with Deepak Chopra's insights. It's true that you have to truly feel your emotions first in order to release them. This is why I recommend an occasional "dark night of the soul"...a time to sit with your pain, truly feel all of it, and through that experience release the tears and the pain to heal it. It's rough the first time because we're so used to bottling all of that inside, or pushing it away and ignoring it, blotting it out with drugs or alcohol...anything to avoid feeling it. And yet once we allow ourselves to sit with it, focus on it, and feel it we find it's not so bad after all, and it becomes easier.
I don't play any games. I let things flow naturally and remain myself. Perhaps you need to take a break if it's starting to feel that way, LP. Sometimes we all need to do that for our emotional health...and sometimes that's when the right one comes along that we don't need to think all that much about it because it all just clicks into place from the beginning, and we know we've found home.
Spiritual or religious beliefs are personal, and one needs to believe fully in them or find what they do believe in. Would you want someone to practice your faith on the outside only if they didn't truly believe in it with their heart and soul?
This, I can relate to Konigsberg. And apparently there are others who feel the same way.
I need periods of solitude and silence, and also time to spend with my friends without a man...just girl time. I want him to have time with the guys and his interests too, as well as his own periods of solitude and silence if he needs them. I need to be able to leave the house with no particular plans in mind, and return when I feel like it sometimes. And again, I can give him the same without feeling threatened. If we can't give each other this, we're not secure in the relationship and we shouldn't be together.
Even once we were married, this would be my preferred arrangement: a joint account for the bills and major expenses, and separate accounts for our personal use. Expenses should be split according to proportionate amounts of each person's income. (Keeps it fair...someone who makes one quarter of what you do shouldn't have to contribute to half of the expenses, for example.)
Yes, squirrel, and it wasn't bad. I've also had deer and rabbit that friends shot. And the squirrel was my one and only time hunting myself. I hated it...I can kill an animal if I have to in order to put food on my family's table, but not as a sport. I have nothing against it, though, and will help skin it and whatever else to earn the food.
RE: Hair in privates? For ladies only
I prefer a man look like a man, not a little boy or something in-between, so I prefer that all of his short and curlies be intact.
