Can't argue too much with what you say there, but at the same time I must say that you invest a huge amount of time in the negativity of it all. You do that, self-criticism (jokingly) jokes on your own behalf so often that it’s evident it’s no pure joke.
I have women who approach me and just like the odd two, three-email exchange and that's it. They say they've laughed when reading the profile, and that's basically as far as it goes.
But, what says they are after anything beyond what you yourself say you'd be open to? Talk as friends? Maybe there was more in the emails, and it's none of my business what was in them, but "get to know me" doesn't mean more than get to know me in my book.
