Going to take a break from CS, but here are words which have inspired me.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be.... There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine.... As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandela
Love one another, but make not a bond of love. Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup, but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread, but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone. Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together. For the pillars of the temple stand apart. And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. - Khalil Gibran
(Its playing on 4FM, great song, great singer, what a woman !)
You must understand That the touch of your hand Makes my pulse react That it`s only the thrill Of boy meeting girl Opposites attract
It`s physical Only logical You must try to ignore That it means more than that
Oh whats love got to do, got to do with it What`s love but a second hand emotion What`s love got to do, got to do with it Who needs a heart When a heart can be broken
Congratulations to you both, this just made my day.
Ka nui ngaa mihi. Comhghairdeas dhuibh.
Your love for, and committment to, each other is inspiring.
Am due to go collect some bantam hens being reared in North Sligo in mid-July for my brother (the things that I get asked to do !). Hopefully will get to meet up with you both. And if ye are in Galway beforehand be sure to let me know and I'll give ye the guided tour of the Burren.
Beautifully written Scribbler. My own version would be....
1. It is because I love you that I can't wait to get your email, to speak with you, to see you, to touch you, to make love with you, to watch you sleep, to share a bed with you, to watch you wake up, to bring you coffee.
2. It is because I love you that, that if I don't agree with you I will tell you that I don't, but own that I could be wrong.
3.It is because I love you that I will go shopping with you, even though I'm not pushed about shopping. I might suggest dropping into pub for a drink, but if you need to head home that is ok.
4. It is because I love you, that I welcome your strength and weakness and am willing to being vulnerable with you.
5. It is because I love you that I will tell you that you look tired and drawn, and ask if you would like to spend a quiet evening at home. Then I'll offer you a full body massage, watch you fall asleep and pull up the duvet to keep you warm.
6. It is because I love you that I will whisper to you in the middle of mass that you are the most beautiful woman in the church, actually the most beautiful woman I have ever met.
7. It is because I love you that even if fate dictates that our relationship as lovers needs to end, that there will always be a special place in my heart reserved for you as my friend.
Its a bath for two (although three nuns, hmmmmm). Anyway, am back.
Taking advantage of the moment, the three nuns surrounded the lads, bundled them into a taxi (much to the annoyance of the three bewitching maidens) and then had them all driven to the.....
Thanks Scotty for bringing me back. The stampeding elephants were almost upon them, they had stared death in the face, the nuns had prayed for their souls to go to heaven, when suddenly......
I agree. Its a nice place for making friends, but nothing beats the reality of meeting a woman face-to-face, whether that be at a CS get together or a social get-together (of which there are plenty of opportunities in Ireland). All that having been said, I did meet and date a beautiful woman who I met on CS (she made the first move, one thing led to another, the rest is private).
...with a Garda who arrested them for having distracted passing the locals Nuns (on their way home from mass) and causing their minibus to crash into the ditch.
Well it's a marvelous night for a moondance With the stars up above in your eyes A fantabulous night to make romance 'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling To the sound of the breezes that blow And I'm trying to please to the calling Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
You know the night's magic Seems to whisper and hush And all the soft moonlight Seems to shine in your blush...
Morning has broken - Yusuf Islam (AKA Cat Stevens)
Morning has broken, like the first morning Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird Praise for the singing, praise for the morning Praise for them springing fresh from the world
Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from heaven Like the first dewfall, on the first grass Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning Born of the one light, eden saw play Praise with elation, praise every morning Gods recreation of the new day
MORNING folks, great-looking day out there.........
Ok then most people are in, it's time for the Mindteaser.
Now listen very carefully......
Romeo and Juliet lived together in an apartment overlooking a canal in Amsterdam. Romeo heads out about 10pm to meet a few mates for a pint, saying good night to Juliet before he goes. She doesn't answer him. He arrives home very drunk at 3am, falls into bed and wake sup to find Juliet dead in the middle of the room, surrounded by broken glass. She was alive after he left the room.
So then..............how did Juliet die ????. One answer only per person please and if you have heard it before, ah now don't be a spoilsport !
Yes, you can ask questions, but you will only get yes or no answers.
Hey Duncan, another bottle of your best wine, thank you.
Read Heal Your Body a few years ago and liked it. Especially liked what she wrote about the connection between physical disease and emotional disease. The body never lies.
All the nights that I've missed you All the nights without end All the times that I've called you Only needing a friend Now your eyes shine with beauty That I missed long ago Guess the truth is I love you I can't say any more 'Cause I need you Yes I want you Yes I love you
As I look from my window To the streets where you stand I am gazing through dark glass We can't walk hand in hand Though your friends try to tell me Though your friends you defend They keep my heart from your heart We must be in the end 'Cause I love you Yes I need you Yes I love you
