From my perspective I believe it would be great poetic justice, if the Jets beat Farve in the Superbowl. However, I think it will be the Saints over the Colts.
I've had many dogs & cats, but the best pet I've ever had was rabbit. I had her for 11 years. The one I had was very affectionate. They make very little sound. They don't smell much. They need very little care. They are quite bright.
I built a pen out back that was the size of a small bedroom (chicken wire & posts). She dug a hole in the middle of it. I placed a lawn chair over the hole and then a blanket over the lawn chair. When I went to work I placed her outside. She would often sun herself on the lawn chair (no lotion required). When I got home, I would take her inside, as in her mind, she was an inside bunny (got her as a baby bunny with an ex-girlfriend). She was paper trained. I had a friend who actually toilet trained her rabbits. They used to hop up on a toilet cover with a hole in it and go to the bathroom over the hole. No joke. Anyway, when she got inside, the first thing she would do, is to go sniff every corner of the living room to re-acquant herself with the room, I guess. Then, when she was done with this endeavor, she would hop up on the couch and watch TV with me. No fighting over the remote. She liked being pet so much, that as a young bunny, she would grunt and slide herself under your other hand, if she was only being pet with one hand. She wanted to be pet with 2 hands. Yet, I could go on vacations for 2 or 3 weeks at a time and not worry. Although I used to leave her plenty of water, cabbage, celery etc.., she honestly could survive just fine on grass (no, not the smoking kind).
If you want a pet without much hassle, try a rabbit (no, not to cook )
I watched this movie the other day for the first time. It and 'The Bucket List' (previously reviewed) were two that I wanted to see for a while. Both were well worth the wait.
The reason I wanted to see this one, was because of Tom Hanks, who is one of my favorite actors. He has starred in a myriad of terrific films including; 'Big', 'Sleepless in Seattle', 'The Green Mile', 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Cast Away', 'Catch Me If You Can', 'You've Got Mail', 'The Money Pit' and many others.
In The Terminal Tom Hanks plays a person on a family mission to travel and complete a personal goal in New York City. Unfortunately, while he is in the air, his home country is invaded and the government is overthrown. Thus, since his government no longer exists, his travel visa is no longer valid. Therefore, the USA customs cannot allow him into New York and since his own country is in turmoil, he cannot go back. Instead he is only permitted to essentially take up residence in the airport until hopefully, something changes.
This is a wonderful story about Viktor Navarski, a man who overcomes significant challenges in order to succeed. It is laden with subtle humor and sprinkled with statements about human behavior & society. Hanks does a terrific job. I recommend it and give it 8 stars out of 10.
While quite different, this movie reminded me of another even better movie. After you have seen this movie, I also highly recommend watching 'Moscow on the Hudson', which in this writer's opinion, is one of the best movies ever made.
I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering.
The other day, I was walking my dog around my building... on the ledge. Some people are afraid of heights. Not me, I'm afraid of widths.
I spilled spot remover on my dog. He's gone now.

I am neither a Republican, nor a Democrat. But, Palin has got to be the most inept nominee, since Dan Quayle. She wouldn't even make it as governor of a state that had a significant number of voters. Being isolated in Alaska has buffered most of her buffoonery from the majority of people. Selecting her, sealed McCain's loss. It truly alarmed a lot of the American people with his inability with critical decisions. While the staunch Republicans will remain party loyal (blind) no matter who is put up, a lot of the more intelligent ones began to doubt McCain's appropriateness for the highest office at that point. It smacked them in the face of the reality, they did not want to admit.
BTW, McCain's concession speech was truly excellent. Sincerely, he did a nice job.
I made a diving catch to end a championship softball game while in graduate school. On my way in from the outfield, first a teammate blurted "Jimnastics" out (my real name is Jim) and by the time I got back to the bench, the whole team was chanting it. It kind of stuck through grad school as a nickname, since I am very fit & athletic.
With all due respect, he looks like he is just learning how to play guitar. I could name 2000 better guitarists. If you want to see someone really display awesome tapping technique, check out this guy. I've met him in person several times.
It's not a bad idea. However, it's a big country. In addition have separate forums for east coast, west coast, midwest, and deep south. I don't know about the rest of the country, but at this point the NJ one is almost totally inactive. I'm glad it's there, but until a lot more people sign up for membership, a regional forum might be more effective.
