Art school and academy boundaries are meant to be and should be broken out of...old lessons from a master in Paris when I was a kid. He and Dali did laugh all the way to the bank...
Frankly, I think that the day after Jefferson died."they", who became 'the establishment' conveniently forgot about him and all the principles he and his generation had fought for...
It's another newish variation of one started back in the early 70's; a couple of my own versions were published across North America...what's been around, comes around...and around, and around...
Unfortunatly not having a photo up of yourself is against CS rules; it must be: "upload a photo of YOU for your primary and leave your current pics for secondary pic so we don't need to remove all of them.
Thanks for your cooperation.
CS Staff"
This has been a contentious point for years with many people over the freedom to post primary photos of other things, like your pet, or just what IS your true self; who defines it, you or someone else. I would be content with a photo as 'a conceptual portrait' of myself as I was originally allowed to post when I first joined.
and Sao Paulo; way too many people. But Brazil has many other cities and very beautiful ones! I wouldn't mind living in Blumenau at all; it's just like Switzerland or Bavaria and Austria in some ways Most South American cities are great; beautiful architecture, friendly people, clean streets, spectacular views, so much; and yes, I'd move back if I could...
Don't forget that Newton had been hit in the head by a rather large apple; he may not have been in 'right' mind and as far as his rather limited 'laws' of physics goes, they may not apply to other planets let alone other galaxies, etc. at all. Surely no one actually believes even for a moment that there are not more 'laws' to discover, let alone change once Humanity experiences other worlds and/or finally, first open contact with other species...
Excellent! Somebody is wide awake. Any country allied with Uncle Sam will sooner or later get nothing but the 'kiss of death' from them.It has always been so.
Nail polish is great for colour, sheen, durability and as a substitute for gesso; I experimented with my wife's make-up when I painted our cat unto a Chines screen in 2 panels; also used poly-fill for creating mountains, then sealing it with paints used for model airplanes. The colours and the mountains still are as new while those on imported Chinese screens fade and flake off. Coffee and grounds are great for instant 'aging' of certain surfaces. Many forgers use it... (Dali let his cheetahs' pee on some of his painting to have a bit more patina to them ) There are no boundaries to creating art except imagination...
Just try and imagine the reverse... 'We' already have had a 'legal' Murder Inc. for years with branches all over the world doing just that and with agents deep inside all govt.'s and armed forces to provide information back to their handlers who then relay it all back to Langley, Virginia. For the sake of equality and balance, it would be nice though if 'the other sides' had a world wide bureau that they could turn to and assassinate those trying to assassinate others.... Monopolies are so boring.
They aren't acting. Humankind, aka, 'Bozosapiens' used their intelligence to invent stupidity. As ignorance is supposed to be bliss, there should be a lot more happy people on CS, but there aren't, hence there are more stupids; stupidity has a certain charm but ignorance doesn't and intelligence tests sometimes shows a person how smart they would have been not to have taken it. Stupidity is the building basic building block of the universe.
A few geometricals, a couple of Jazz/Blues, couple of African tribal women from old sketches from travels. I like the rolls method; watched wall paper prints being made and used it for painting...on the back of wallpaper; design stores often throw out rolls and the large sample books that show the wallpaper designs, great for painting and drawing, as are old large rough canvas paper maps; using the reverse side is a free way of getting good canvas sheets; same with cosmetic stores throwing out 'old' lipsticks. I use them for quick sketches and portraits. The effect is like using Chinese brushes, then just apply a fixative. Nice colours also "Mixed media" is an understatement and the materials are all free...
Good for you! I'm trying to finish off seven at the same time in spurts; I did better using rolls for a continuous painting then cutting into sections... (hey, it works!) I'm also on the verge of inventing an entirely new form of Art...but I have to get it copy-written first...
Well, at least you do out on dates and at least you actually have a conversation of sorts with men. When it happens to some men, the solitude only gets worse over the years. You need to find that man in the free hug thread.
Just get rid of the people that continually harass, demean, and just can't seem to communicate without profanities and obscenities. Those are usually the first to start the name calling which then escalates into the classic 'pack attacks' by like minded verbally challenged individuals.Frankly, there should be a zero tolerance for the use of obscenities.
Screenplays are like paintings; a blank canvas which to can throw colours on, or compose until you feel that it expresses what was in your mind's eye and imagination. To me, Woody Allen's screenplays and their renderings into film is surely a form of 'high art' in every sense of the word...visually, intellectually, the characters and the usually hilarious events that unfold sometimes in a haphazard manner. Same with most of the Monty Python films. An absolute favourite is both the book, screenplay and film "Myra Breckenridge" by one of my favourite writers, Gore Vidal. It is on many levels, simply superb in how he hit all the sacred cows that we generally all loath.
Just a note; a few years ago, some one claiming to be 'an artist' on the Euro CS invited artists to post and/or send him samples of their artworks...and sure enough, some ended up in other peoples art works as theirs, and in a few cases in art shows. Very nasty and long legal problems and costs about stolen art, claims of copy-write theft; image thefts etc., etc. etc. Interpol has always advised extreme caution on posting one's art works on any public websites.
Leigh, you're right, at least about being 'creative' Paper versions of 'Peace' is so simple; it is indeed made up of many pieces here and there and sounds almost infallible...until one tries to apply the paper formulas to the real physicality of out world. I guess that is my old frustrations at not entering the diplomatic corps as was my direction once upon a time but that urge to be a 'pirate'/renegade with no allegiance to any State was just too strong to resist; it became a game of 'diplomacy is still a form of warfare by other means' as von Clausewitz insinuated in his famous dictum, "On War". Solutions have dates of expiry as all solutions are products and changes are fluid leading to stagnant pools or an ocean of turbulence. Change is never in itself a solution without an agreed upon goal(S). The overriding principle here is appreciation of an 'alien mind set' which isn't grasped by the collective West; 'When I am weaker than you, I ask for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedoms and its meanings because that is according to my principles' There are no laws of nature, unchanging and inexorable. Our world; our entire Universe even, presents only changing relationships which are sometimes seen as laws by short lived awareness. The fleshy sensoria which we call self are ephemera withering on the blaze of infinite possibilities, fleetingly aware of temporary conditions which must confine our activities and changes as our activities change. If one must label the absolute, we must use its proper name: Temporary. Enemies strengthen you...allies weaken. In the world of politics the problem of leadership is inevitable: who will dare to play God, but the art of government is the mastery of chaos. It is an art no longer mastered by any State or religion in the West.
(methinks we need to share a couple of bottles.... )

If she seemed to have stepped out of the film Clueless...
