I wonder which would be more popular or unpopular to burn: Bibles, Korans, or Bras...and who would be more upset or amused..? Perhaps someone should do a poll...
BRAVO!!! That, to me is the very essence of a true, real European. To know, to be familiar with as many of our fellow 'continentals' regardless of nationality or language feels 'at home' anywhere in Europe as we share so many aspects of our pasts, our experiences, our histories regardless of whatever political divisions of the day have brought or may bring. Personally, I think it would be fantastic if literally all Europeans could get to know each other in such a way; it may prove highly beneficial if all Africans, all 'Orientals' could also get to know each other, same for the other peoples on different continents; this earth, Earth is our planet; our one and only planet(so far) and it may be our last for all we know...(til perhaps after exploration of other worlds, should we live so long, ET follows us home and comes for us... But, what the hell, just dreaming out loud...it's s lot more fun(and normal{!}) to be killing each other and rendering this planet into a toxic cesspool for all life...
"Conorco: Democracy is past its sell by date, its been hijacked by the rich and powerful and is the greatest mass delusion of the 20th & 21st century's"
Spain's 're-conquest' really began with Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, aka El Cid and with his taking the Moorish city of Valencia in May of 1094 with the help of Moors from inside, Valencia became the first fully integrated Christian-Muslim city in Europe ; others also followed like Granada. Most established both secular as well as 'religious' courts to hear cases like religious intolerance and defamtion' ie, cases of Muslim extremists or like the Rev. Jones burning copies of the Koran, etc. Legal experts from both the Vatican and Mecca advised both local religious courts and their councilors. The system seemed to work well and encouraged a better mutual understanding of each other without any need to break down any aspects of cultural heritage and all religions as well as ethnic and religious heritage, including the Jews were made law, unlike in a democracy that respects no one's culture or heritage, but does, nevertheless allow for the fall of the historical and dominant culture/ Race by disallowing their basic rights to opt out of anything they perceive as a threat to their existence by immigrants of a totally different culture, history and Race. People have a right not to be 'politically correct' just as much as people expect to be treated equally under secular laws. Under the old 'Zone' system, as revised under the foreign policies of National Socialist Germany, secular laws would be more or less the same across the Zones that defined the territories of different peoples, their cultures, ethnic and racial integrity. This factor was one reason tens of thousands of Muslims joined the Waffen SS fought and died beside their European comrades with the blessings of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem,Haj Amin al-Husseini, spiritual leader of the Islamic world. ; other reasons, of course, but with the sole exception of the Jewish question and Palestine, there were no real problems with Islam. The Turks were the only Muslims that dissented in favour of a more secular outlook; they still do today...dissent is generally a good thing to make others think. The primary reason for the Zones would /was to protect all the various peoples, their heritage and their unique identity. Perhaps that also should be re-examined for all our sakes...
What was "B A"'s famous quote from the old "A Team" TV show... "I pity da fool..." Seems rather appropriate to looking for 'chics' 20 0r more years younger...
Does this have anything to do with all the symbolic hacking off the limbs of the Black Knight in Monty Python and The Holy Grail that also allowed some people to actually laugh at all the violence...
Unfortunately, any form of democracy does not and cannot by definition allow for any one culture to remain dominant but does encourage the demise of one... The homogeneous Europeans of England, as with the rest of Europe as a whole still far outnumber both the converted and migrant population that have come into the European zone/ countries. The noxious form of democracy that would allow the majority to suffer the loss of their historic and cultural heritage must then change...evolve into something that will guarantee our common heritage. If History has taught us anything about cultural survival it was during 11th century Spain's Crusade to liberate its land from the Moors and come to 'an arrangement' that was of mutual satisfaction to both peoples. Valencia became the first truly integrated European city in Europe between Muslims and Christians, as did Salamanca and others. Baring the human predisposition for greed and power by a few Monarchs, it could have and would have remained as a good example in how to integrate and yet leave European culture, dominance and heritage intact, to the mutual guarantees of people's rights and obligations under the peace that was agreed to. Perhaps, now, more than ever, that situation should should be more closely examined and the ideas of both ecumenical and ecclesiastic courts be re thought to deal with all religious matters with perhaps 'legal advisers' from both Rome and Mecca... Both Muslims and Christians as a general rule have great respect for Law, be it civil or Religious; in most Muslim countries it is the leaders that do not and we are seeing the civil disturbances as a general result of their rule and secular minded despotism in basically ignoring their peoples and their Koran. Their peoples are sick of it and want change, now, not later, down the road sometime. We cannot find fault in their aspirations to progress out of dictatorial rule.
Excellent! Delighted that you said that; of course the very same is true of Christianity with all its various 'denominations' going from one form of extremism to another, but sadly, most 'Christians can't/ won't see it until something happens that causes the Media to either condemn or praise it... Many of the 'Bible extremists' are really no different from the Taliban's interpretations of Islam while the mainstream condems its own like the Taliban. We all, in a very general way are but mirrors of each other and sadly most of us will never actually get to meet or get to actually know each other, thanks in large part to the Media and the ways in which they portray us to each other. The Media does what it can to keep people apart and put up more divisions that only encourage various amounts of hostilities; hasn't anyone learned this yet! Hallo Christina!!
No need to see the clip; I've known a few too many stupid Western women who ran off to marry in one Islamic country or another and they had to pay a very heavy price to get out alive and in one piece. Having to get them out and their children or go go back and get them is just not the smart thing to do. The worst countries? Try Egypt and a few of the Gulf states and Brunei is the worst of all. Hollywood images of the 'Romance' of living in the countries of 'the Arabian Nights'...right.
I wish that being France, they would be the first nation to really take 'equality' to its logical conclusion; namely to ban everyone from wearing clothes !!
Excellent! This sort of reminds me of two old sayings on/ about love: "Whoever loved that loved not at first sight?",(Christopher Marlowe) and the modern comeback of "Love at first sight is cured by the second look"...the poor woman desperately needs that second look!
What to do now..? Well if your gut isn't sending you a clear message by now, look at this way; if love is a sweet dream, marriage is the alarm clock!! By then, it will be too late.
Distance is relative; Time plays a very important factor and can derail the most committed If communication stops suddenly and either party cannot reach the other, all sorts of notions begin to play on our minds especially 'worst case scenarios' or the proverbial 'cheating or got bored and found someone else. None of those need to have come into play but when the distance is made far greater by the passing of time, many move on without ever really knowing why the sudden cut-off be it phone calls or letters...it's like they died but you can't be sure...
I would start a new religion, establish a new church and get Govt. tax exemption from paying any income or other taxes whatsoever. Perhaps, I'd call myself Pope Crustation 1, 'Crusty' to my College of Robins...or something and start a fund drive to keep me in a new lifestyle that I'' have fun getting used to...
NASA just may finally confirm what millions in the US have believed for years: There is NO moon; it has all been a gigantic hoax...but then again, seems that another group of millions believe the the moon actually landed on us...amazing!
