RE: When do u know u have touched by love?

Being "touched" also is an expression of being "mental" as in nuts, crazy, "looney" There is more than "being touched by an Angel" and that could drive one to being really touched...%D

RE: Pathalogical Liars

I was taught as a child:"The truth shall make you free". So I ventured out to seek the truth. And I found it. And did it make me free? Hell no! Did it make me frightened, defensive and insecure? Damn right it did! So now I know the truth about "the truth." Avoid it all costs. Make up your own truth...and stick to it no matter how little sense it makes. And sooner or later, you'll have converts. Trust me.
PS. Everything is a lie an' dat's de truth!! %D

RE: Background Checks

There have been several cases of men being set-up by prospective dates from well known YS web sites. In one case it was a gang of several people who ambushed the man in a park. After several assaults and robberies scattered through out the mid-west, they were caught. Police estimate that for males, over 80% will not report their assaults and robberies.
Cyberdating proposals seem to be similar to running national security checks on people applying for "sensitive jobs" or the intense back ground checks for CIA applicants before a real life date can take place...but still...how and when does one lay aside any little lingering doubts...perhaps a once a week, a month lie detector session as good as the intelligence services use; and maybe with some "truth serum" also...???

RE: This is so tempting, but....

If it is further north than Lake Simcoe the areas have lots of nice funny little furry creatures around, small stores all over the place..just how far north are you talking about...Lake Nipissing..Nipigon?? Being alone, isolated, is nothing for 4 months; all you need is to use your imagination to stay occupied. Now if was to be 4 years...the pay better be damn good!
I loved the area around Lake Simcoe....very nice

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Keeping some sort of humour is usually a lifesaver especially on certain topics on the Forums, on either site of CS. As in reading this topics contributions...I'm somehow reminded of the British "Carry On" movies, specifically Carry On In The Jungle, I think it was, with us taking the roles and also picturing us besieged in old Fort Zinderneuf from the film(s) Beau Geste...some are manning the walls, some are in favour of opening the gates and letting in the hordes(teeming; they are always teeming),claiming that if we love them, they won't hurt us... while others are packing up and slipping away into the night...all the while Gunga Din is sounding the fatal alarm on his bugle, but few listen.
When I fist heard the term "illegal alien", as a child, I immediately thought of our ubiquitous watchers in their saucer ships...(as my father worked at the CIA and used to on occasions tell me about what they had found out and helping cover up the truths). But when one considers all the how's and why's a country is formed; and the roles and rules of Law are established as other nations it perhaps should not be forgotten that outsiders have to meet certain criteria in order to be allowed in; same goes for any club, public or private and laws that should not be so easily and when convenient, be summarily dismissed, which in the inevitable end make our countries the very same as those "illegal aliens" and "refugees" have fled from. The chaos spreads and chaos is maintained far easier than laws and order. That is human nature.
Order must prevail over anarchy. Harmony with ourselves and nature is much more beneficial for all. Happy New Year ALL!!!

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

According to the various protocols, declarations, mandates etc. the countries that have signed, sealed and delivered their acceptance of the UN and it's Charter are now subject to it in whatever form the Security Council decides it is best. These rights of the UN include the right of intervention in a signatory country that violates not only it's own laws but of the UN Charter and Declarations. That was always clearly understood. It was also a very clear gamble of any and all signatory countries that should they ever violate those Declarations and Charters that there would be consequences. The crises in the Congo in the early 60's was clear; the UN could intervene by force, right or wrong into a country's domestic situation; the UN could intervene and also kill a people's desire for independence as they did simultaneously with the secession of Katanga. It has been repeated several times, usually with dire consequences for all, but never mind the setbacks. They are slowly learning especially now over the impending intervention into Sudan over the Darfur problem.
The refugees fleeing a country in war, oppression, genocide etc. should by UN declarations be not only interned, housed, clothed and fed, but should not be allowed to spread into countries all over the world; house, clothes, feed and train them and let them join the UN intervention forces that should oust whatever dictator or regime that makes war upon their own peoples. Consistently done asap, by a rapid deployment special UN force would eventually stop the dictators from arising and committing genocide against their own peoples. How trying to destroy one's own population helps a country is beyond me, but it won't stop until the conditions are such that war, genocide, political, economic destruction is simply not profitable for anyone. On the issues of International Law, Global standards prevail over Domestic. That was, is the price of signing the UN Accords and all the accords should be enforced, otherwise disband the whole UN and let's get back to all out chaos and destruction. The Spanish Foreign Legion motto was "Viva la muerta!"
Long Live Death!...is this what it all comes down to...again!?

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Interesting choice of word with "migration". In those far-off "olden days" when our ancestral tribes migrated across Europe, most had the unfortunate bad manners to literally "swarm" whomever/ whatever other groups were in their way, (along with the usual burning, pillaging, looting etc). Well, thankfully all of us finally matured. The levels of wreckage were really piling up, especially in Italy.
From the histories of the EU, many, if not most on the initial designers where from the old Vichy government of France; many, if not most, were good supporters of a French style of National Socialism and were quietly integrated into all the departments oh post war France and almost immediately began proposals on what we have now: the EU. My real disappointment is that now with all our borders opening up I am finding that levels of irritation and hostility is rising in many places due to foreign ownership of properties. Be it in Germany from Poles, in Italy from Romanians, in France from the Brits etc. This is not good. I'm surprised at the lack of foresight from the EU leadership in not plugging this rising irritation and hostile annoyance of foreign ownership. They should have encouraged all our respective countries to adopt strict and very limiting ownership of land, and properties by non citizens with absolutely no ownership allowed. Sooner than later this will raise very negative proportions. I would really hate to see this arise again.

RE: Do you believe in Aliens?

Saw some outside Paris as a child in daylight, like dancing in the sky...saw a few over the Patuxent Naval Air Station on the Chesapeake Bay, near Washington DC at night...flipping back, up and over, playing with the jets trying to catch them while at a summer camp. All the kids and adults were all cheering their antics.
Then I found out that may father worked for "the company" at Langley...and he loved to tell me all about "them" and what was being covered up. Saw them while stationed in Corsica flying in low from the African coast while on guard duty at night. Awesome...our Capt. said it was no big deal, not unusual to see them over the Med. day or night. Other times also in African countries...just passing by, hang around a few minutes and continue. Utterly fantastic.
Of course I wholeheartedly believe that they are real and from all of my historical readings and research all the ancient civilizations did also and have left us minute detailed descriptions of them and their ships. Seems that we are some sort of symbiotic relationship.

Apologies; meant to say was for all our European borders be open from the Atlantic to the limits of European Russia...%)

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

The Balkan borders other than Serbia are virtually open as it is, just not yet "formalized" as were the others last week or 7 countries.
What you are saying is true enough; it is a double edged sword: on one side is the old saying of "familiarity breeds contempt; isolation breeds suspicion,; leads to hatred etc. and yet intolerance breeds quality...What I wish to see fro ALL Europe is of all our respective borders to be open from the Atlantic to the limits of European Europe as it was at various times under our various Kings, Queens and Emperors/ Empresses. Open borders benefit all of us Europeans despite all our various tribal and ethnic origins. Being from both German and Russian background , believe me, I saw a lot of misplaced altitudes and attitudes during my family's years of exile. Totally unnecessary.

RE: WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE USA

I find the body count around her somewhat bothersome...over 50, all somehow connected to her and her husband from Arkansas to their time in the Washington. Usually, the pattern has been once elected, the bodies start piling up; all or most from "accidents" of course...
I'd love to see a Black woman elected/ appointed as President...

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

With the recent opening of all borders among several countries in Europe the movement of "our peoples",(Europeans) is finally approaching total freedom. The borders with Russia and it's many different peoples are a bit more complicated. The borders with Ukraine will hopefully be opened. As we in Europe have the EU, so it should be. It is the non-Europeans that is our collective problem So far only a few has closed their borders to any non European immigration and are doing fine and their people have no complaints about being denied the existence of illegal non Europeans among them. Their rights to be free of the problems that are caused by illegals and non Europeans are being upheld by their governments as it should be. Europe is the only place on this planet wherein most of our borders are now open for us and more will come. Africa, Asia, North America and South America have no open borders nor anything comparable to our European Union. Does it not make one wonder why in the hell not! Does it not make one wonder why all the others can't...won't(!) form their own Unions as we have. The ultimate hypocrisy is of course in/ from North America, the so called "land of the free" that dares tell the rest of the world to open up and yet they themselves hide behind closed and armed borders...with a sizable number of so called "patriots" ready, able and more than willing to shoot the illegal immigrants which was Idi Amin's way of deterring immigration from neighboring countries...simply machine-gun them to death; at least he never wavered on that policy and he was consistent in keeping out all non Ugandan peoples. Would that we make up our minds to be as firm and consistent once and for all. If the Mongol and/or Turkish invasions of our fatherlands of Europe were to take place today would those ever bleeding hearted liberals and libertines among us be so pleased to have our history, our cultures, our peoples, our families, our countries, our hopes and our dreams be destroyed and trampled over ...knee-jerk reactions aside would our collective suicide of Europe really help the problems?? I really do not think so; in a world of survival, better the outsiders lives than ours.

RE: I "wish"....and....I "will"

So very, very true, spoken like a true old fashioned member of the Hospitalers, The Knights Templar, the Knights of St. Mary,(the Teutonic Knights) and so many others that were at one time filled with that spirit, now only rarely found but in cloisters and even fewer lay organizations.
As a society that transcends 2 worlds...the old Christian West of Europe and the US "wild west" in toto we have lost it; it hangs on barely to places that we would expect; to even fewer people than there are "social pillars of importance" who seem determined to stamp it out because it is as those types dictate, "out of fashion" and goes against the virtues of a disposable society; of things and of people; of morality, of Love for our fellow Human, be they rich or poor, young or old. We have become residents of an artificial world that builds itself on the most vainglorious of all our irresponsible attributes: Greed; greed for more of everything that we can accumulate. We can accumulate many things except one tiny little thing...Love, but to accurately describe it, I can't; many posts on the kinds of Love, but it is beyond me and yet, I know we would all recognize it; all feel it if it suddenly came to us in whatever circumstances that called for it...perhaps to simply clasp another Human and say thank you for being alive ; to remind me how much we really should help one another....I don't know...trying to put into words those of the mystics like St. Thomas Aquinas or St. Bernard of Clairvaux or any of the Sufi Muslim Mystics is impossible it seems...but a very special type of Love unites us all and it is ..."misplaced" somewhere...
Well said Detente!

RE: I "wish"....and....I "will"

I rather feel partial to Detente's post; the only things that I will add are that for myself, far too many "I Will's" have turned into "I wishes". I really didn't pay much attention to my plate of choices and simply, very narrowly, forged ahead without any regards for possible regrets at the costs. Whole worlds of possibilities were totally ignored.(BIG slap on head!)
"God given rights"?? There is no such thing in this life. Virtually any and everything depends upon the decisions; the moods of others always more "powerful" than one's self. They can always pull whatever platforms you may have right from under you. When it becomes a way of life, many give up; many do lose heart, be it career wise, be it marriage, be it love. Unfortunately there are always more losers than winners. It would be a much more beautiful world, a much more inspiring world if there were more winners...

Several of these people are dead; perhaps you should have phrased it as "the most hated person that has lived, implying both present and past...
also, where is Pol Pot of Cambodia. It is estimated that he managed to kill at least 18 to 20 million of his people...many say that he actually surpassed Stalin... or is this list more "international" rather than "regional"...no. can't be as you've included ol' Idi Amin Dada, who barely managed several thousand at most, from other tribes...I fail to see what, if anything you use as a criteria for making this list; the amount of Hate, the amount of bodies piled up??
