RE: why are we doing this?

well, until last week I used to while away my spare time on a politial forum but it was dreary going around in the same old circle, having the same discussions and dear god if you dared flirt with anyone it was tantamount to heresy. anyway, quite by accident I found this place. it looked lively enough and people seemed to be able to enjoy life so I signed on. i'm not looking for love or god forbid, domestication. just a bit of flirting and a giggle. I don't think that's such a bad thing really.

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

you know, I honestly would love to go to mexico. obviously there's a lot of poverty and it's hardly the safest place in the world but yes, I think I could be happy out there in a little bar surrounded by mexican women

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

tut. such cynisism in one so young. honestly, I may be so close to the devil that we the same share tailor but i'm always honest about my evil ways. laugh

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

really, you mean there's more? I do like mexican women. they're very much like our women you know. I was meant to be going to visit some relations at the time but I sort of fell into that bar and ended up bashing out old songs on a piano and having a sing-along with a crowd of folk.i stayed for the week and was quite sad to leave really.

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

good stuff. I got asked out on a date today, that was nice. this woman with a clipboard stopped me in town and said, can I ask you a question? I said, sure. so she said, how much do you pay for your insurance. well I told her that was a terrible question, i'd thought she'd come running over because she just had to take me to dinner and god, what a let-down. anyway she laughed and said, oh well, if you really want to have dinner i'll take you out. so, we're going out on sunday. so i'm quite happy

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

you know I once spent a week in ohio. very nice it was too. I found a great bar with a piano and some lovely mexican women.

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

evening miss. how are you today?
wine

RE: would you date a recovering alcoholic

lord no, i'd only lead the poor thing astray

RE: Would you, could you?

well I hope you find you're diamond. one just has to wonder if the men in pennsylvania.
are all blind wine

RE: Would you, could you?

well I for one refuse to believe you aren't in a serious relationship. why, you're like a young debbie harry. if the men aren't laying siege at your door there's something very wrong with the world.

RE: fav old flim???

oh, breakfast at tiffanys, I think. lovely film. reminds me of a girl I used to know.

RE: CS ZOO....

it's meant to be really good now but i've not been for years. they used to have these 2 polar bears in a really crappy enclosure and that put me off going back. still, it's supposed to be a lot better than it used to be so I might go have a look sometime

RE: CS ZOO....

when I was wee me and my mates would go up clermiston woods and sneak into the back of the zoo. it was dead good. there was an old turnstile we could climb over. I wonder if it's still there. anyway i'll be with the tigers. they're my faves.

RE: CS flirting

well, I wish you all the best and I hope in time you will put away the astrology and pick up a paint brush.
wine

RE: CS flirting

indeed, young and you look lovely too. there must be paintings of you in the art gallerys yes? grin

RE: CS flirting

I like flirting, always have. a little light and playful flirting brightens the day. obviously it has to be appropriate and should never be seen as something that will lead onto other things. I think that's where a lot of people fall down. if someone responds they either push it too far or read too much into it. flirting should be an end in itself. a bit of lighthearted fun

RE: Talk about no respect!! Debate #2

the real question should be, where were their policies? seemed to me that they had very little to offer the american public and spent most of their time blathering on about their records, both of which are quite poor. also, there seems to be a move towards peddling the u.s public towards accepting off-shore drilling and nuclear power. mccain looked old and fidgety with a nasal whine and all the charm of a down on his luck snake oil salesman and obama seemed to be auditioning for a part in rambo 5 with his little speech killing osama bin laden

RE: THE 1800s Wild West

oops. I meant, i've never met a man who didn't want to be in the wild bunch

RE: THE 1800s Wild West

laugh
well, yes, there is a downside to a life of bank robbing, horse rustling, train robbing, women chasing, gunslinging fun but you know i've met a man who didn't want to be in the wild bunch

RE: What is the very 1st thing you do when you open your eyes in the morning???

usually get up, have coffee and a cigarette, turn on the news, feed the cat, think about menus and what needs ordering that day. what the lunch special will be, what needs to be prepped, what needs to be thrown out. have a wash, another coffee & ciggy and check the phone for messages.

RE: THE 1800s Wild West

an outlaw. robbing banks, stealing cattle, gambling, drinking, holing up trains, chasing mexican women, sounds like a good life to me

RE: Nashville Debate??

I listen to a lot of country music and none of it is right wing. there are right wing bands of course but the likes of kris kristopherson, johnny cash, willie nelson, john prine, alison kraus and so on could never be labeled as right wing. as for the debate being held in nashville, it can only be a good thing. there is no point in obama preaching to the converted at this stage so he needs to continue to challenge and gather more votes.

RE: For your own sake.

one of the things I noticed about the recent palin/biden debate was her almost unbridled aggression. we will fight for this and fight for that and invade them and blow those ones up. however I felt the most truly sickening part was palin's little speech about there coming a time when grandparents will sit and tell their grandchildren how america was once a democracy. if a british politician had attempted that sort of nonsense the press would have torn them apart

RE: hi, I need some advice

I was at a function the other evening and as luck would have it I found myself seated next to the lovely pruscilla and her swishy mane of impudent, fiery red hair.
anyhoo, after watching her daintily maul her way through a leg of venison I realised that the conversation had begun to flag. I began to worry that perhaps the lovely pruscilla would become bored after she'd finished devouring the cake tray and would be lost to me forever, but, do you know what saved the evening from disaster? why, nothing more than a simple bag of glue!
you see, it was while she was wrestling a crate of after 8 mints away from the waiters that I took the opportunity to pull out a little bag and it was while I was inhaling deeply over the glazed cherrys that I caught her staring at me. well, not wishing to appear rude I offered her the bag which she inhaled with some gusto and you know even though she ended up passing out over the fondants with drool on her christian dior blouse and gravy pooling round her manolos, I have never found a woman more attractive. as the effects of the glue took hold of me and I slumped under the table I had time to thank the gods for that modern day marvel, the little bag of glue.

RE: Favorite band from the 80s and 90s alternative rock scene

I think teenage riot might be my all time favorite song, I heard it when I was 17 or so and even now when that guitar kicks in it's a total rush

RE: Serious announcement, by superstitious nutter with pathetic love life.

that's a bit negative really. i'm sure there must be some positive things about the dark dimensions. housing is probably quite cheap. good parking. nice views around the lakes of fire and you'd save a fortune on heating bills. as for unrelieved nightmares and everlasting anguish, anyone who's ever endured emmerdale farm will probably find it quite pleasant

RE: Favorite band from the 80s and 90s alternative rock scene

i'd have to go with the pixies. the first time I heard surfer rosa was at this girl's flat and it knocked me out. i'd also like to give special mention to pavement and sonic youth. great bands.

RE: if your a gamer come chat

it's not really scary, I thought it was going to be but it's a totally beautiful looking game. I've spent most of it just looking at the scenery.

RE: if your a gamer come chat

what I thought was weird about the game was the way he moved, it was like he was half sloshed and the targeting was a real pain. I liked the last one though, that was quite funny.
haven't seen little big planet. i've started on the orange box and that's really good.

RE: if your a gamer come chat

what did people think of gta4? I thought it looked great and the characters were interesting but to me it just wasn't any fun. I did half of it and couldn't be bothered to finish it. my faves so far have been ghost recon, the orange box and bioshock which i've just about finished
