My compassion hardens like concrete when I'm expected to respond to rubbish. Some men simply don't think about what they write or put in half hearted effort and then expect a windfall.
No way no how would I be bringing my child on any first date, I just don't believe in involving my kid in that until possibly much later if things seem to be getting serious. JMHO.
Well my attitude is simple I'm not having a kid just so I can help some fool to proove his virility and go boast to his friends - that's the man's business. My business is that I'm having the child because its what we BOTH agreed on, and since I'm the one whose going to be doing all the heavy lifting in terms of carrying this child its got to be something that I WANT. I'll go a step further it must be a child that I can support if tomorrow morning - god forbids, the man should die or go his merry way, not be a burden that I've now got to go fish for my next meal ticket for whom I'll be EXPECTED to go pop out another kid.
yes there are women who have a child just to hold on to a man and the man was not even consulted or knew about the plan, but there is the other side of the coin, there are men who would EXPECT the woman to have a child for him because he is in the relationship with the woman.
When it came to having children that certainly was one area that I never let anybody tell me what to do. I never wanted to be a young mom, I had my daughter later in life - like I wanted and never regetted the decision. I'm a single mom, not because its how I wanted it but it is how it turned out, I think I've done as good a job as a could under the circumstances. I don't allow others to be my measuring stick. I have no regrets.
Two interesting things got me to thinking and I thought I'd share them with you guys:
Back in day (and it is probably still the view held by some) that if a woman reached a certain age and she hadn't yet had a child she was not looked on favarably, called all sorts of awful names like mule etc.... She was seen as being lesser than other women who had had childrren.
Here's another scenario: Lets say a woman meets a guy,after a while of being in the relationship he starts saying she has to have a child for him, if he's supporting her, to hold on to him,she goes ahead and has the child, one more child might follow, the relationship might come to an end,left with one or two children she meets another man and the cycle repeats itself,another child added to the brood because he doesn't just want to be father to kids that aren't his own. If that doesn't work out she's left with three kids.
I suppose my question is what is the measure of a woman? Is it how society sees her, how men see her or how she sees herself.
Some forms of embarassment should be kept low. Just imagine if you will my current profile pic with unkept hair,wearing home clothes, on a laptop computer and surrounded by stacks of research books and tired with bags under the eyes from having to be writing all day. Not a pretty pic - hence the need for you to imagine this.
The whole induced labour bit....really could have given that part a miss. Haven't hit the teenage years yet so early days yet before I give back my membership.
