Ah well he'd fit in over here quite well, out here many try to get back to their African roots, whites,Indian even the chinese sporting their dreadlocks or braids.
Its always a pleasure to read your threads DB. I always find this topic of Immigration interesting. I've got a bit to say about it. Firstly, I come from a nation of people who were originally ALL from someplace else. Even our Amerindian forefathers came from someplace else. Who am I to snub any immigrant? I think its fate that allowed Europe, Africa and India to meet under whatever circumstances so that I could be alive today this is what we are - a mixture of peoples. Lets be blunt, without immigrants we would have no country or certainly not the diverse and interesting country we have now. I wish I could have been around when we spoke Spanish, English, French, Chinese and all those other wonderful languages all together, so that my daughter could grow up in such a multilingual place. It took us a while to get where we are today and still we have a way to go but I am proud of how far we've come. For many countries its a new thing - this integrating but where they are now we have already been, we didn't sit about and wring our hands, we took our lemons and made lemonade. We took from them and they gave to us. Problems come when there is neither a willingness to give or take.
A while back I made the statement that one man's wine was another man's vinegar, clearly you've not been enjoying your share of fine wine(sensible threads) so clearly you've been drinking vinegar(dumb threads).
Thanks for being a brave soul and putting it out there. Nuff respect. I'm coming to some interesting conclusions from this thread. Had this been about money grubbing women the floodgates of comments would have flowed freely as I have observed many a time, yet the floor has been left open to hear the other side of the coin- about what men value and barely a peep. Very Interesting and INFORMATIVE.
You will find my dear that there are many golden nuggets of women who would look past all this and try with you(once you are willing to also try) to make it work, the key is finding them - but they are out there.
I think its a fair question. We've seen the comments made about women eyeing a man's wallet, car, bank account, etc...and that if a guy doesn't have a certain amount of cash that a lot of ladies aren't interested. Now the fact being that you can't take love to pay the bills but there is also the fact that cash probably can't keep you warm at nights. Soooo I thought it only fair to hear the men's point of view on this. What would be their choice?
I've seen some threads which speak about how women seem to gauge a man by his wallet, but what about men? I know the song talks about a woman saying that love without money can't work for her but how do the guys feel? If you're a man accustomed to a certain standard of living are you willing for the sake of love to take a step down(or perhaps several steps down)from your accustomed way of living to be with a woman who is piss poor and would have little means to contribute in a big way financially. Realistically how far would you go for the sake of love? How much does a woman's financial status matter to you? Can love truly conquer all?
How about a BUNCH of folks playing instruments VERY WELL. Here is our Police Band, playing some instruments including our National Instrument the Steelpan. They really know how to shake them hips and enjoy themselves too!
