Personally I don't think its anything biblical. I just believe its an up-tick in notable occurrences. There are millions of the things out there after all, and the fact that we rarely are aware of their presence, or any unusual disturbances, (including to our many satellites), is rather amazing. Although our unique atmosphere has a lot to do with that, as I understand it.
17,000 miles however, (the recent asteroid that just bypassed us), is awfully close in space terms, being inside the distance of those satellites. We dodged that bullet, this time!
Exactly!! There is really very little comparison between the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movement. The latter is just a helter-skelter mish-mash of people who were originally upset about a whole myriad of things, related to profit-taking and corruption, albeit nothing organized.
Then others came and joined in the activities just to have fun and meet girls.
Later though, the thugs moved in to take advantage of a boat without a rudder, and to manipulate it into something that works for them.
This is a very empty threat, but a threat nonetheless, and a very nasty thing to attempt to do. SS funds are there, and would be solvent until approximately 2034 if nothing were changed.
Not only that, but it is waged against Seniors, the Disabled, Veterans, and all active-duty Military Personnel & their families. People who cannot go out and find an extra job to tide them over. And suggesting come August they will ALL be out on the street and unable to pay their bills. Overall that amounts to many Millions of American Citizens.
There are some 50 Million Seniors and Disabled, not even considering Vets and the Military.
The fact is the Social Security coffers are nowhere near depleted, and they know that better than we do. But it is being used as a weapon against our most vulnerable citizens, using them and their lives as pawns in a misguided game of chicken!
(That's an awful lot of votes come 2012, Probably not a wise thing for anyone to be frivolously playing around with).
Perhaps not of premeditation, but of being the cause of the little girl's death, and of an illegal cover-up after-the-fact, including lying about everything.
She should have gotten about 8 to 12 for Manslaughter. I don't think the jury did a very good job of comprehending the court's instructions, and applying them.
Most of them reportedly believe she is guilty too. But, they just felt they couldn't convict her, based on how they interpreted what they were told to do.
The primary victim in all of this. is of course little Caylee, who didn't have a deceitful bone in her body.
Actually it was for a very valid reason back in its day. But that reason and that day are long gone now. So don't be surprised if many ladies find it presumptuous and marginally demeaning. And may very well say so.
Absolutely! Especially on a first date, automatically paying for everything, is actually a bit of a polite insult to the woman. It suggests she is 'needy', as was the original idea behind that, long ago, when they actually were.
Because women aren't what they once were, that is, dependent on the male to 'handle' everything. They have their own resources now and want that their independence to be known,
Since there is probably no difference in their purchasing power, and either is just as capable, in this era, it isn't logical to expect either party to automatically pick up the check. If you do so without asking her, she may be quite offended. In fact if she's prone to be demonstrative, she may even sock you one.
Dunno if anyone is a Lou Dobbs fan or not.. But he has left CNN forever. Not down the road or next week, but immediately! Like YESTERDAY! No notice either.
Significant disputes with upper management it seems. (apparently including Ted Turner and the current General Manager).
Lou was the very last of the original group who formed CNN way back in the beginning, and I'm sure he owns a ton of stock options. So we won't likely see him in the unemployment lines, or out there selling pencils.
Seems he was considered a bit too outspoken for their blood, as times are changing rapidly. It was becoming clear that he was having disputes about the content of his broadcasts, and also clear he was uncomfortable with the network's move toward 'political correctness' in their broadcasting. A few special-interest organizations had movements in place to force CNN and his sponsors to drop his show.
I hate to see CNN following the trend set by MSNBC, especially since their ratings have been much higher than MSNBC. But that seems to be what's happening, for whatever motivations they may have. One can only speculate.
In any case he'll still maintain his daily radio show.
This marks the end of a broadcasting era... Personally I find it a sad thing, and arguably something of a threat to Freedom of Speech in the Media.
Hmm.. Well, keeping in mind we were all born single. And without a stitch of an outfit as well. BRRR!
(Except for twins or triplets of course. )
So that was the original state of affairs. Getting hooked up with a main squeeze of some sort, was a variation from the status quo.
Based on the existing divorce rates and court cases, I'm not entirely sure we were meant to be paired off, 2-by-2, the way society tells us we should always be. Were we?
Or maybe its just that we aren't careful enough about the decisions we make, or we let short-term passion (read that as intimate infatuation), be our guide? Or perhaps we don't realize in advance the substantial compromise that good relationships really do require of us. Which is good compromise, (hopefully), but nonetheless necessary.
However, since I'm no lady, I'd better not answer this one.
Sure! I think you can, if the circumstances are right for that.
Kezza summed it up pretty well. If one side still clings to the relationship, and can't accept only friendship, that can make it pretty awkward and probably not worthwhile. Plus, then it is an imbalanced scenario. Because the two are coming from different places. That can still work sometimes, but it's less likely to be fruitful for very long.
But sometimes friends is all that was meant to be, and as long as both parties accept that, then if mutual respect remains a part of it, it can work out very well. In fact I think that happens quite a bit. Situations like Seinfeld and Elaine for example. Not uncommon.
For me, it works better the other way around. Friends first, with the possibility of it becoming something more. Or not. But with nothing presumed in advance.
Mother Nature is pretty smart, and she's been doing this a long time. She'll work it out one way or another.
Bottom line is we just didn't have good choices from ANY party in 2008. (Or in 2004, for that matter).
If it didn't require $$millions$$ in available campaign funding to run for such an office, we'll have a much broader range of viable choices.
When money is the primary key to being elected, that presents a vast array of associated problems, and limitations.
A lot of people without major bucks behind them would make great candidates for public office. But with our current system, they'll never get there, because they simply cannot afford to operate in the same league as the elites.
Things have always been a bit screwed up. It's just that now they are more screwed up than ever!
So seemingly, we're not learning a thing from our past mistakes.
For the most part Congress is useless, as are all 41 Czars, running around making policy with no oversight by anyone, as far as we can tell. The one recent staff resignation is a perfect example.
We need a big RESET button, so we can back up and start all over again!
First and foremost, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid need to find another like of work.
So, how do we get more members in here participating? Hmmm?
o Music? o Jokes? o A raffle? o A Reality Show? o Jugglers? o Any ideas?
Hey, here's one. What if active posters got a nice big bonus via the Economic Stimulus program? Say a coupla million each, or so? Or maybe $10,000 per post? I'm not sure that's any more unreasonable than some of the stuff we've seen so far.
I hear they have a lot of cash left, just sitting there stacked up to the ceiling in the big house, to be spent, only they haven't decided who to give it to yet. Acorn and La Raza got several million each, and of course Wall Street, AIG et al, got way more than they ever should have. And of course, Congress bought themselves all those new Lear-Jets to taxi around the country in.
And yeah, since we all own General Motors and Chrysler now, how come we can't get free cars from our own companies, Hmmm?? Hey, the executives do, and they work for us!!
Although come lunch time, some say a few $100 bills come off the stack, just about every day. Executive lunches are not a good way to try to use it up, if you ask me!
Better us than all those Special Interest groups out there, lobbying for the big bucks. Ya know? After all, its our $$$$. Or was . . . . . . at one time.
I'd say passing it out here, to our active posters, is a great way to stimulate the economy! Maybe we should take a poll?
RE: What are the heavens telling us?
But will we always??Maybe not...
