In what respect? If you look at the demographics of most 1st world countries, they are self governing regarding number of children, so the average is around 2, however, in less well developed countries, the average family is huge, that way they have a greater chance of survival. As these countries move closer to economic and social stability, so the families naturally get smaller. But sometimes a short sharp kick from the ruling classes is needed to set the correct path, maybe?
"The use of obscene or taboo language - or swearing, as it’s more commonly known - is often seen as a sign that the speaker lacks vocabulary, cannot express themselves in a less offensive way, or even lacks intelligence.
Studies have shown, however, that swearing may in fact display a more, rather than less, intelligent use of language."
Looks like a Chihuahua, nice friendly dog if you are into small dogs, some are known to live as long as 18 years, so get ready to grow very attached to it.
It is way to hard for me to make that judgement, too many variables. But if money was not a problem then Tuscany Italy followed by Vancouver Canada followed by one of the Caribbean Islands. But as finance and weather rule my life, right now my favourite country is still the Philippines.
Many, but the country has no main religion so. Christian holidays are not observed, the local Church in town where I live usually holds a special service on Easter Sunday, but no Easter parade etc. Normal working week. Next week is QingMing, so three days holiday, QuinMing is Tomb Sweeping, a tradition where all the family gather at dead relatives tombs and clean them, tidy up around them and give thanks and show respect to their ancestors, lots of fireworks too. All rather touching I feel, very emotional at times. A lot more meaningful than the excessively rich women poncing around in ridiculous hats trying to outshine each other, as happens in the UK.
1. the secretary of the UN . has at least 8-9 years remaining so a long wait
2. Any member country including the USA can veto any applicant for the position, unlikely Trump would agree
3. This "Fake story" was only ever printed in a clickbait online media source famous for ridiculous articles and even then it was over a year late for the vacant position.
Making a drama out of a molehill seems to be something America excels at
Jack Ma, the CEO of Alibaba/Taobao/Lazada will be rubbing his hands with glee, as if anything knocks Amazon, it means his company will become the biggest online marketplace. Xi jinping will no doubt be happy also, another feather in Trumps hat, soon China will own the USA outright
I guess the loss of the workforce is of no concern to Mr Trump.
Thank you. I completely agree with your comment, it is getting worse, and the lack or misuse of punctuation is also causing a lot of problems. I find it hard to understand how the supposedly educated, cannot see the difference between us and is! Down to poor education and laziness, I guess.
Gambling has a stigma for a good reason, the same way people say being an alcoholic is a stigma, both are addictive, and both destroy families.
The only people who win regarding gambling are those who can afford to lose, they play for fun and the thrill, the money is secondary.
Roulette is just a luck game and worse the odds are never in favour of the player, Roulette is a drain on your wallet simply because the game doesn't pay what the bets are worth. With 38 numbers (1 to 36, plus 0 and 00), the true odds of hitting a single number on a straight-up bet are 37 to 1, but the house pays only 35 to 1 if you win!
Many many thanks for all your posts, It was greatly appreciated.
I learnt something new today, it appears that you need to book funerals well ahead of actually dying. The first available "slot" is the second week of February, as this is a "busy time"
So have 3 weeks to finalise all the paperwork, clear out the flat etc.
After the funeral, will take a short holiday, then move on with life.
But I would really like to thank you all for helping me through this difficult time.
Well I am halfway back to the UK, but sadly run out of time, my Dad passed away late Sunday afternoon. Peacefully thankfully. One of the last True English Gentleman, he will be missed, ut has left an enviable legacy. A man respected and admired by many. Rest in peace Dad
Thank you. I did manage a few hours sleep, and spent the morning packing and getting myself sorted out. I truly appreciate your comments and all the others. Riz
Yep, my parents knew each other better than they knew themselves . My mother always said never sleep in the middle of an argument and always find a compromise
I guess I should try and sleep, just after 3am here, and was having difficulty getting to sleep, so many thanks to everyone who has commented. your thoughts are greatly appreciated and I feel a bit calmer now.
My apologies for taking up valuable time, I just needed a diversion.
Kind words and I truly appreciate them, I was somewhat unprepared for the return so soon, had to move my flights and getting one was not easy. Emirates have worked wonders for me, so winging my way very soon. He did seem to be recovering well, so I was relaxed, decided to complete my exams and then fly back, been calling the hospital every night, and all was good until today. My term doesn't end until end Jan so had a bitof a panic, thankfully the senior staff at my Uni are good people and fully understand my position, immediately gave me permission to leave and found someone to finish my work. Thank you again.
Yes you are right, but this Christmas was hard for him, he really missed his wife, married for almost 75 years. So my worry is he will give up so he can be with her, I guess I am selfish. Hard not to be I think But thank you for your vibes
It was a risk he wanted to take, he was really quite fit for his age, but his knee was giving him a problem. Other than that he was doing really well, getting dressed in the mornings and able to look after himself in many ways, his main carers were always astounded at how much he would do for himself. Thank you for your comments
Thanks, My dad would have got on with you so well, he worked on the Supermarine Firefly, as well as the Hurricane, and both the Horsa and hamilton Hamilcar gliders.
Many thanks, when my parents returned from Africa, the first family holiday we had was in Ireland, I have never forgotten, such a beautiful country and some of the loveliest people.
RE: Is the concept of a one-child and two-child family policy upsetting to anyone else?
