If my babies could travel I'd take you up on the arrangement. I would cook, garden, and pay rent just to "start over" and pay for one, now that we are no longer a couple. Heck, I think I'll get a room mate here
Hey, thanks for the thread. So sorry about the car trouble. I have to travel by bus. Chin up, you're very bright and funny.
The pen is mightier than tongue, mind, sword or bomb. The written word can create or destroy in the wrong hands. It has a way of hanging around (just look at Google) Everything is being recorded, for good or for evil. People live by written words (thoughts, ideals, diabolical schemes) More over they can keep those words hidden in their minds eye and never let on. I am referring to the Deadliest weapon. "orders in writing" followed by action. 0 accountability for executing "written orders" terrifies me. Martial Law scares me. The words "Just orders, Ma-am" make me shiver. Your own government spinning out of control is the "most deadly weapon" - see Patriot Act
Have you ever practiced active listening? Active listening is repeating in your own words what the other has just said, giving the other an opportunity to confirm or correct that what you heard was what was meant. Listening requires effort. Listening is engaging another on an intimate basis.
My argument is that if we do not listen very well to one another, it is not surprising that we do not hear God. My argument, further, is that just as listening to another requires paying attention to the other, so it is in listening to God. We have to believe that God is important enough, and that what God has to say is important enough, to spend some time with God, to being quiet in God's presence, so we can hear. Our culture is too noisy and too visual for us to hear that Word that can only be heard in silence and in the depths of the human soul.
Salutations from Southern OR. also. I'm new too. Maybe we need a west coast club. I for one will let my friends know about this site. I have a good feeling about the prospect of making friends to pal around with, maybe. I love answering mail, so if you've a mind to, drop me a line. <<<<< my new hairdo
Who once said ... if music be the fruit of love, play on, play on? I say- sing to me. It warms the cockles of my heart. Ahhh love. And you are right. Without the "I love you's" my legs wouldn't be able to move. I love everybody as myself and will shout it from the mountain tops. Loving GOD helps.
My beautiful babies ( matching Calico's) are purrrrr fect companions. There is Zuzabelle "ZuZu" and miss " Harley Piffles " Harley likes it when tall ladders are called for to rescue her "highness" ZuZu sings for attention. Both sleep on the bed.
I count on profiles to read what's behind the eyes and in the heart. I only hope some new friends won't judge this package by the wrappings only. Blessings to all.
I'm new and this is a totally adventurous experience for me. Just had to break out of this funk. I'm so looking forward to making many new friends. If you'd like to chat, let me know when to meet you in the chat-room All blessings, Always
Dare I say, my uncle Tommy named me sh_ _ fist when I was a toddler because I could squeeze my hand down my grandmother's sink and retrieve valuables. I'm still double jointed and only a few people know about my (not so glamorous) beginnings.
