RE: Share What You Are Listening To -- Part 99

A scammer asked for my name and number tonight, this is what he got and now it is stuck in my head! doh

RE: Does this guy remind you of one of the CS regulars.

That's Mr. Howell from "Gilligan's Island! cartwheel joy gotta go

RE: Do differences really attract?

Wait for it....

thumbs up

RE: Do differences really attract?

Well, thank you doll!!teddybear

RE: Do differences really attract?

I don't think I would be attracted to someone who is so totally opposite me, but then you never know.

I like funny men, non-smokers, and in my age bracket. It doesn't work for me if they aren't. Found that out the hard way...moping AGAIN!!!!

RE: Why do so many people mention that....

It means they were "rode hard and put away wet" which translates to: they are well used up, best to skip those profiles gotta go

RE: Camping and Fishing

I love camping, though I did not put it on my profile, that's kind of crazy. Must have not thought of it at the time, confused I did list our family cabins, which these wild fires here in California spared - barely, came really close. They are always nice to go to up in the mountains with a creek running through the property.

Last time I camped (and I have all the equipment, a tent that has three rooms and all that stuff) it has been five years. I just don't have anyone to go camping with anymore.

Fishing, no thank you! Gross. thumbs down

God-fearing: if you see that, then it is a scammer, no American would put that. We never say that or write it on anything.

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Thank you! I hope they too. This is nuts. So many have lots so much and the lives those are the worst.

Gracie and I are okay so far, it is still 30 miles from us. Oddly enough it affects the weather and I haven't seen the sun in a few days due to the smoke. It is kind of like a constant overcast, we have sunshine always here. So this is odd.

I am so thankful for all the ones who put their lives on the line out there! And coming in from other countries. How awesome is that!! teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Thank you! It sure is crazy right now, to see the devastation on the news of where I grew up, I am 30 miles away and since being home from Chicago a week and a half ago, I haven't gone up where it is going on it is the next big town by me, I live in a teeny tiny town of 15,000 so that's where we go to buy things, we are staying out of the way.

My sisters are up in that area and our family cabins are in the mountains and for now they are safe, but it is windy today and the winds can shift and a whole town can be gone in an instant. One sister had to evacuate for a few days but is back home, her husband is retired law enforcement so they know when to get out safely. I am sure they have not unpacked at all.

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

We live in a very dry climate here in Northern California, Gracie and I have been in Chicago for six weeks, it is very humid where we were and she had a hard time with the humidity, we would have to take walks early in the mornings, she is good at letting me know when she's had enough and just gives me one look and I pick her up. Very smart little dogs these yorkies are. The humidity you could almost taste it, it was that thick at times, those days we stayed in. Then we come home to fires. Poor angel hasn't been out except to go for a ride when it is cool. She loves riding in the car! I pulled it out of the driveway today so I could cut the grass with the weedeater and she got to go for a short drive, about 20 feet!! She was thrilled. teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, they are such wonderful people who put their lives on the line every day. These are our super heroes, they don't wear capes. teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Oh my goodness! This is such a tragedy. There is nothing worse than losing a child, or someone you love very much. Very heartbreaking.

Thank you for letting us know. These are our true Heroes. teddybear

RE: I need to find a wife

How about this one??

teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Thank you Rachie, that is sweet of you. I can't even take my yorkie Gracie out for walks, the air quality is so bad, she is so small I don't think her lungs can handle it.

We are praying they get a handle on these fires and soon. It has been almost two weeks for the one near me, tomorrow it will be. I am just thankful other countries have stepped up to help. That is so awesome!teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

That is so sad. Fires are so scary. I just hate them.

The evacuations here are in the 100s of homes right now. I am speaking of the one fire I know the most about which is near me, the "Carr Fire". Firefighters are fighting fires and getting word that their own homes have burned up. I think we've had two firefighters who have lost homes, I can't be sure if there are more and we won't know until the fire is out and people are allowed to return. Seven people are known dead and 20 are still missing. Two were firefighters.

My cousin and his son are firefighters on another fire in Northern California where we all live. It is a very scary thing going on here and the air quality is so horrible, let alone the California heat we've been having, 100 degrees Fahrenheit plus, which is 37 Celsius. Some days it is 110 F/43 C. I couldn't imagine the heat of the fire, plus these temperatures that these awesome firefighters have had to deal with.

Another thing that really chaps my hide is the looters, we've had so many of them it is horrible, now that is the lowest of lows, and we don't have the LE (law enforcement) to go in and keep what houses are standing from the looters, they are needed to evacuate other homes.

The Carr Fire is only 41% contained, 154,524 acres burned, and we've had what are called "fire tornado" which I am reading right now, was up to 143 mph. That is darn scary! Here is a video of one of those such tornadoes, just one I found on the "Carr Fire" on You Tube, one such tornado is toward the end of the video, several fire fighters were caught in it, but are okay according to this video.

I don't know how many fires are burning in the three states your firefighters are here for, but there are many and they are devastating And we need to keep them in our thoughts and prayers they stay safe. teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Thanks doll for lending out your people for us. We all have to work together in this world, not against each other. teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

Thank you for this. Yes, New Zealanders are awesome as are Australians. I have actually met someone from the CS forums who was from New Zealand and she is wonderful. We met in Seattle, I met her and her brother up there as I was visiting my daughter.

I hope all of us working together can put out these fires. teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

We need all the help and prayers, one of the fires is near me in my hometown it is called "The Carr Fire" and now I just read it has killed a P.G.&E. worker, they are our local (to California) electric and gas company, my friend's husband works for them, thank goodness they are not even in the state right now so that is good. I would have been freaking out until I got word he was safe. Very sad, this fire has done so much damage.teddybear

Thank you Australia and New Zealand Firefighters!

How awesome, I just saw the news that these wonderful people have come to our aid, not just in California but to help in a few other states. We can't thank them enough for all the help they are giving our country, this is what humanity is all about. teddybear teddybear teddybear
