I actually Googled the lyrics myself, but in the song I think she is just doing what is expected of her. This was in 1971 by the way....we were straying from the reality of settling and having kids, so I think she was in a crossroads, the girl in the song. Not our sweet Carly.
I love Carly Simon, love this song, and love George Harrison and do like Art Garfunkel but I really don't understand this song!! Does she NOT want to marry?
I met these guys they were awesome, they were staying at my mom's best friends one was her nephew Tommy Tucker, I was only about 9 at the time. They were so funny and so stoned!
I wasn't anywhere near the ocean coming or going! We don't all live on the beach or near an ocean if we did then California would be really skinny. It was just a scary city I really didn't want to be in, haven't been there in 50 years and back then it was scary, my grandma would tell us to lock our doors in the car when we went to this city. But I was just at the airport today, so really not in the crazy city.
RE: Share What You Are Listening To -- Part 99
This is a really sad song, but it's one of my favorite songs and favorite videos. Not for you my darling love, just a song I like.
