You mentioned they are over 18 now. As a child of a failed marriage I chose not to have contact with my father for a number of years after I became an adult this was my right.

Serene did not belittle your rights. All Serene was saying is your children have wants, needs and rights aswell and you need to consider the idea they may not want contact. Unfortunately this could be the case if their idea of you has been shaped purely by a vindictive ex-wife. She may have even told them you are no longer alive and this could be a strong reason for her to not allow you any contact with them. You really need to consider legal channels resolve this.

Yeah seems to be a common thing. I thought it just happened to the guys. I mostly hang around here for the forums these days. Seems to be the best place to meet new friends. I have always been at a loss why so many people ignore emails.

I quit a few year back now (cold turkey). Quite a few guys a work with quit in the last few months. Some with Allen Carrs book, others with champix. One thing that has struck me as helpful is something my engineer said. "Im not quiting smoking I'm just not having the next one." Hope it helps people out there that are struggling with the enormity of it all.

Well Darwin theorised a theory of evolution which in so far as I am aware still holds true with all the advances in science including gene sequencing. If you wish to go into creation vs big bang well you must then ask what made god.

I am at a loss as to why the church fights science on topics that have such strong evidence to counter them. Just look back to the where the ideas of a flat earth and the earth being the centre of the universe got them.

All depends on what you define unnatural as being. Just because we are not consciously aware of something doesnt mean its unnatural. I cant see hear, taste, feel, smell or see radio waves but I know they exist because I have tv and radio. And I know they are natural because they are part of the emr spectrum. To someone that has never experienced this a ghostly voice coming from a speaker may be considered evil or super/unnatural.

Great thread though I think going the utopia angle is a little pie in the sky. I am a strong believer in moving forward from what we have now. Capitalism has served us well but I see it as holding us back. Alas the big question... Where to next?

Isnt this what the churches have been doing since their inception? Deceive the masses to keep the status quo

Isnt possible to say this is exactly what priests are doing when they heal with their hands? Working miracles? Or what about saints? Isnt it a requirement they perform a miracle?
