RE: I Am Grateful _______

..for so very much. I got to play jazz for a living, playing music wellness programs in healthcare facilities for pretty decent money. It was so nice to be appreciated, I even woke a couple of people out of comas who the doctors couldn't rouse. I was paid well too, and give a consultation "Making a Living in Music Wellness" to share the wealth, if anyone is interested~

Great music this Wednesday 8/18 in NYC

Please join me and a great musical trio this Wednesday 8/18 in NYC at the Bowery Wine Company, 13 East First Street, from 7:30 to 10:30pm. There's no cover and no minimum, the food is fine, and the music is going to be great!

Larry Newcomb, guitar
Jan Leder, flute (that's me)
Jon Davis, organ

Hope to see you there~

Live Jazz at the Bowery Wine Company June 9

Hey folks,

This is a bit unorthodox for me but I was thinking it would be a good idea to invite people from this site to attend a nice jazz event in NYC.

I'm a jazz flutist and will be playing with the Larry Newcomb Trio at the Bowery Wine Company, 13 E. 1st Street in SoHo, on June 9 from 7:30 to 10:30pm.

There's no cover charge, no minimum, and it's a really nice, warm and cozy room. We've played there before and it's a great venue in a great location.

Of course I won't know who's from the site but don't be shy and please introduce yourself if you come by. It's going to be lots of fun!

RE: forums

Honestly, Jessejess, I have to tell you that just glancing around the site and seeing what's been written, I have no desire to participate.

The reason is that so few people actually know how to write. It's not about being "proper" as much as being well-read. When people can't spell, or they use apostrophes and contractions incorrectly, use bad grammar, etc. it reveals to the rest of us that this person must not spend very much time reading. People who read know how to write; people who don't read don't know how to write. It's really that simple.

I'd rather date a man who reads, because then I know he is well-informed, and can therefore think for himself, come to his own conclusions, have something substantial to say, and not just be part of all the "chatter".
