True. I guess sometimes I get my hackles up because so much was expected and required of me--no one seemed to want to give me any consideration. I survived it 32 years.
I'm afraid you're correct. I still think people should complain if and when it happens. Look at it this way--if I were to show up at the hospital, and say, "You know, I only want to be assigned to the friendly, nice patients. And, no wound care. I only want to hand out the medications. And, no helping turning patients. It annoys me." Now, what do you suppose my director will say to me??
I hear you. I do want to describe a situation, and ask that you, and/or anyone reading it, understand exactly 'why' the public doesn't feel like tolerating poor or lacking public service. While working for a major HMO, some of us nurses and techs were frustrated and annoyed with a manager who just wasn't at all up to par. He had a career which had a managing board, specifically for that post. ALL of us (7) called that board. When I called, the board chair answered. I began by telling her I (and documented other licensees) had a formal complaint regarding _____. There was a slight pause, and she could be heard sighing heavily. She was anything but helpful. She didn't want to take the information. Oh, now that's hunky-dorrie, isn't it?? It's her JOB to do exactly what we were asking. Her JOB. THAT'S why people get upset.

sit back and enjoy these hilarious spins on all-female societies. I believe there is a Tarzan movie where he discovers a city of all-female inhabitants.
It's better than it used to be--at work I always reined it in--but I have had to really hold my peace with family---So, currently, I would, without reservation, give myself an A+.
I've never understood all this. Back in the earlier days of Hollywood, an actor contracted with a studio couldn't accept work/parts with another studio, even if he or she was not currently working and had plenty of time, AND needing the income. In Oregon there is a "no compete" clause for many professions--(a banking executive friend of mine retired and had to sign a two-year 'no compete' for her career. ) I don't get it. Why does it matter? Doesn't it fly in the face of what America is about? Freedom to work wherever one desires?
LIFE is just like that--work demands at least 252 days and you get only 104 for yourself--getting it on only lasts a few SECONDS and you're stuck with a salt weight or a snotty kid for the rest of your life--etc.......
Hi everyone--so, I'm trying to canvas folks to see what works for muscle aches and pains, arthritic pain, joint pain, etc...Looking for over-the-counter only at this time. What do you think is best, and where to purchase ?(Kroger, Safeway, Walmart, etc...) thanx SO much.....
I used to travel a bit--I've been across the United States twice; once by car and once by airplane. The auto trip was awesome, the air trip was exhausting because of many lay-overs and transfers. I've been to Canada once, and only just across the Idaho border. It was beautiful, I must say. I used to drive from Portland to San Francisco in one day, also to Reno. Took many trips by plane to Reno, and one to Las Vegas. Now, I'm content to stay within about a thirty mile radius.
Some insurance companies non-profit, hint, hint) spend up to two thousand dollars to deny a thirty-dollar claim.
Recycling is a great idea. It surely is. However, it costs about three dollars in water and electricity to clean a container worth one eighth of one cent. How many people do you know, especially the hipster crowd, who really take the time to look for the tiny icon on the bottom of boxes and plastic containers to determine if they are even recyclable or not? Trust me, not a whole lot of people do this. The world is way goofy. I'm all for trying for improvement, but I really think the bird has flown the cage. So, do the best you can, I suppose.
