RE: Alcohol

I think it’s like just about everything else. Moderation is the key. To answer your question: wine makes me a tad randy. Vodka (Bloody Mary/Caesar) makes me want to sing Celtic songs, and such…really don’t drink beer very much— it’s too filling, bloats me, etc…

RE: Name one

Last year I had to board my growing kitten at the breeder’s house. By the first morning I was wiped out from loss of sleep, and by nightfall I was tearful. Thankfully she brought him back the third day. So, after not having people living with me for most of my life, getting the kitten was major. I really don’t think I could live without him, but that’s kind of a heavy “what if” and I don’t wanna be bummed out.

RE: Let's pause for poetry.

What a canopy a King Cobra possesses. Gorgeous, brilliantly colored and arrayed; quiet. Yet so ungodly deadly. Many have conceded that the King Cobra is here to teach acuity in awareness. Learn it. A wise man once said there is only one in a hundred men who are noble, kind, honest, and fair. This is an understatement. Be careful.

When I am dead, and ‘neath the peat—
Lay a jug of punch at me head and feet-
And say a word ‘bout this han’some rover-
Whiskey was ‘is darlin’-
Drunk or sober!

RE: Let's pause for poetry.

No chord of music has yet been found
To even equal that sweet sound
Which to my mind all else surpasses:
The clink of ice in crystal glasseswine

RE: Athletes

Oh good grief, lovie, it was totally complimentary— your threads are a breath of much-needed fresh air here. (It seemed the forums were starting to be a little stagnant; we need some good subject matter, and you are stepping up to the plate).

RE: Insomnia

A minimum of REM is needed for good health. I have sleep apnea…it is being treated now. Things seem better, so far. (I would startle back to awareness just as I fell asleep. Terrible.)

RE: Dream

A recurring dream is about a situation that needs closure. It’s unfinished business. The toughest ones are (don’t cry..) when a key person in the dream has passed on. But one can and must find closure. I’m a believer, or at least I’m open to, being able to communicate. Not in the same way we know. I think all those things, telepathy, seances, the afterlife, all have some merit or at least deserve research. And I don’t think it’s “evil”.

Thank you ma’am.tip hat As my darling little great aunt would say, “Well! You’re not as dumb as you look, boy! I think there’s a flicker there, honey”.

RE: Athletes

You sure are posing some interesting questions. I believe they deserve a generous salary/contract. Perhaps somewhat less. Their careers are usually shorter, however, and nearly all have huge medical bills for a lifetime, so that needs to be considered. (Imagine cracking your head on a cupboard door-we’ve all done it. Man, does that sting bad, and for awhile. Now, imagine it being 20 to 50 times worse, such as football scrimmishes and such.) Things aren’t always as they would seem. Why is an R.N. Worth $50.00 to $100.00 an hour? Why does a fashion model earn $500.00 to $1200.00 an hour? Why does a major organization’s president or CEO or Chairman make 75 million a year, and his assistants make 17 million a year? Are they really doing that much work? (Of course not)

RE: Special treatment

I had to think about this very carefully for awhile. The final analysis: Good/Great-looking people, men and women, especially in good athletic shape, have an edge in life, no doubt about it. 99% of the entertainment industry requires perfection, or near-perfection, from singing, to acting, to modeling, to Sports. There’s just no denying it. The frumpy, short, overweight, badly blemished actor works only because the role calls for it. Michael J. Fox had a rough time getting started, because of his short height. Likewise Tom Cruise, but the both are successful, anyway. But that is NOT the norm. And modeling—not happening if you aren’t drop-dead gorgeous or handsome.

RE: Presidential

Abolish The Electoral College. I’ve never liked it that a president can get in office even if the majority of the voters didn’t vote him in…Our system allows that to occur, which, in my mind, is contrary to Democracy.

Forum is: “Wet and Drey Electric Razors”. You asked questions; said you didn’t know about electric razors. I’m #15. Get with it, Charlie!hug

RE: Whey we are not successful in getting the right match

Very true. I want to add (regarding being single) IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT.

RE: Whey we are not successful in getting the right match

I’ve got this in a nutshell: Most people are way too spoiled. Looking for precision, exactness, perfection that no one can genuinely offer or stand up to.. The human race tends to bully—wants all those wonderful assets in another, that they themselves don’t possess. People say they can “put up” with certain idiosyncrasies, then later nit-pick and nag. The answer? Ask Adam. Been going this way since day one.

RE: Some people have said that the sun never sets on the united kingdom.

Not sure, but it could be that there’s a point being missed: “World FAQs” rhetorically presented, ‘So, what DOES the adage “The sun never sets on the British Empire” mean? Here’s what they say: The vastness of the Empire, that is, all territories, is so great and widespread that it is always daytime somewhere in the Empire. Well, The United States of America can say that, too…

RE: Warning

I agree that if you make it clear in your profile that you are not lookin, everyone should respect that. I find it bothersome that a person not on my “here’s what I’m looking for” statement tries to contact for intimacy, relationship. I find it disrespectful…

RE: Dream

The Bible would seem to support the validity of dreams. Read about Joseph and the dream of seven years of abundance, seven years of famine. There are other stories—Pilate’s wife, etc…
