I have some that try to apologize for me having to help them. I just tell them that they don't have to apologize and that they are my job. It is like a help-help or win-win situation. I don't know if you have saw that Robin Williams movie where he dresses up like a clown but we have tried some of that where I work and it really does improve quality of life. We have this one man named Jessee that is bed bound. He is hooked up to a feeder tube and a foley catheter. He can't talk but through rotation of motion exercises we have gottten him where he moves his right arm. He can blink once for yes and twice for no. We had him laughing. It sure did my heart good and we try to encourage him not to give up. When I get lonely I go talk to Leola. She is bedridden, too with Lupus and MS. She has a sharp mind. She actually taught me how to take care of her. She gets me to laughing sometimes even. It is like this world that I didn't even know existed.
Have you ever danced with a woman in a wheelchair? I do it all the time at work. We both get a big kick out of it. I had this one who was in this wheelchair and I had the brief cart. We were playing like bumper cars. It was good to see her laugh. I do work there but have learned to have fun while I am attending to others' needs.
It can be done, though. Just make sure the chair has wheels on it. One advantage to dancing with a short woman on a chair is that you both know who has to lead unless the chair is motorized, of course.
Being a tall guy I have an attraction to short women. It is isostacy. Gravitational equipotential surfaces (the geoid) on the Earth are independent of continent positions. However, highs are correlated with the Tharsis region and lows with Chryse and Amazonis basins on Mars. Therefore, the topography must be compensated by a mass deficit in the crust or mantle. The observed gravity for Tharsis is much smaller than that predicted from topography alone, however, so the crust must be strong or the compensation deep. Take a crustal block of density p - ^p extending a height d below the surface and a height h above it. Archimedes' principle then states that the buoyancy force is given by FB = p(Ad)g where A is the cross sectional area and g is the gravitational acceleration. This must balance the weight, so (p - ^p) (h plus d) Ag = p (Ad)g.
Yeah, I had to move on from that, too. To enjoy the here and now is where I am now. On third shift where I work we have a chance to cut up some. All the female nurses and female aides suffer from the disease of marriage or have boyfriends and believe me I thoroughly investigated that fact but we have managed to have fun regardless. I didn't get involved but watched them shooting rubber bands at each other. It got so bad that they had gobs of rubber bands on each hand and wore flannel underwear underneath to protect themselves against the rubber bands, lol. My friend, Randy got cornered by one LPN and an aide and was unsuccessful in trying to protect himself from they both firing at him, lol. Of course, another LPN reported them for horseplay but it was fun while it lasted.
True about the money and health issues. I have had to make cut backs. I found that I was bad with checkbooks, credit cards and impulse buying. I have had to get my wants and needs back under control. I learn the difference of going from a good paying job to one of minimum wage and it is just me. How can I think of trying to support or even be there for another if I can't even be there for me? I have found that some social interaction is better than no so interaction, though. I have found that some of my neighbors are actually nice by actually to speak to some in passing by. In this rural community church is the big social get together like it was like in the old days. I got the biggest kick out of one of the female aide story about her 6 year old daughter who she brought to the nursing home. She said, "Wow, momma, all the rooms are filled with grandmas."
Losing my life partner I can understand when you say "I". One does have to just get back on the horse that threw you or pull one's self up by one's one bootstraps.
I don't know about you but dragons scare me. Maybe if we send the information into Nike they can make some special ruby slippers. Witches usually come with familiars. Sometimes I bet witches can be harder to deal with than dragons. Atleast with dragons you know where you stand.
Yes and I bet you have had to protect your Achilles heal. I bet some dragons come in disguise, too. I bet it would be hard to run in pumps but with armor maybe wouldn't have to run. Hmmm. Witches would be hard to overcome. I bet they all don't have them pointy hats.
If any Alumini would to share things they have learned from the school of hard knocks for new students coming in then please post here. Experience can sometimes be a good teacher.
Who created the creator who created the creator? And who created the creator who created the creator who created the creator? And who created...ad infinitum...the creator? And do we worship all of them, or just the most recently created creator? Do you think God evolved. To be both Alpha and Omega. That is truly something. How can one out think one who is smarter than you? When the student is ready the master will appear.
Yes. That is why I like the statement question of "how would you like to be treated that way" or "how would you react if you were treated that way". It has a way of bypassing the intellect and getting to the gut reaction. As the Indians put it, "Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his mocassins." The more information one has on a certain subject the better one is qualified to make a judgement call. It is the basis of our nurses' report so that we can all be on the same pag during shift changes. Accuracy is important because we all are responsible and can be held accountable. It can have ramifications down the whole chain of command. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
I think it because some would rather know something is true rather than to believe something is true. Doubting Thomas was like that according to the Scriptures. The unknown can be scary. However, if you give the unknown a name then it can be easier to deal with. That can help with communication. Of course, the Tower of Babel would be an exception because the language was confounded. Freedom of choice works both ways. I believe to some God is known and to some he is unknown. It could be in the personal conception of God or how you know him whether you accept his reality or not.
I know vinegar is good for washing glass coffee pots. I have paid more attention to health food stores lately. A lot of medicine is derivative of natural herbs. I think that is sad about the condition of the rain forest where so many herbs are not found any where else.

Oh, how beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
