Can't help but think that is a difference in representative and democratic. Yeah, like hey I don't think we make enough money. No problem lets just vote us some more money in.
It has been a while back but during a congressional meeting it was entered into a voting process for a pay raise for congress. One person during the broadcast at the congressional meeting asked the public watching if they just saw what happened. Congress had just gave itself a pay raise and the vote was almost unaminous. I thought when watching it wow the ability to give yourself a pay raise by just voting on it.
That is 1 out of every 8 Americans which is 1 out of every 6 children lives below poverty level according to a recent survey did by a Catholic charitable organization.
I used to work as an orderly back in 1982 and later in mentally ill homecare setting in 1983 as a house parent. In 1983 which before the OBRA standard went into effect in 1987 I didn't even have to any credentials to dispense medicine. Now one has to be atleast a LPN to dispense medicines. Have you had to adapt to continue barage of state laws? Do you think the medical profession could use some deregulation?
We have a doctor that comes in the morning to do the prescriptions. He is one of the old fashioned country doctors and his brother is a doctor at the hospital. His schedule is really something else as he works at the local clinic, too. I was surprised to find that the medicine left by residents that leave one or the other is not wasted but goes to some of the free clinics. At the free clinic one has to sign a waiver as a client to get the free medicine because it comes from a nursing home. Want not waste not.
Yeah, the detachment part is hard but I have found it to become necessary. One sees the pain and suffering and wants to help. Understanding one's limitations and knowing one has a duty to perform even though it is with humans. I have had to shut my mouth in certain situations especially with confidentiality. Just yesterday I was impressed with an aide we have who has been there for a long time. As I worked with him and I was on a different shift I noticed how he got the residents to respond to him in a positive way. I noticed how it made his job easier even though his approach was very humanistic. It was like he truly knew each one he dealt with. It really impressed me because it was distant but yet still caring. It was like he had this art in caring. I am incorporating into my approach in dealing with those on my shift.
Any favorite contradictions?
Yeah, everyone knows the world is flat. Just look outside.
