What kind of mentality is that?

I've just been driving on US highways and don't understand why a lot of folk don't want to give way at ramps onto the highway. It's almost as if they're afraid to let anyone get in and they're almost prepared to have an accident to stop anyone getting in front of them. My father used to drive like that in Australia too. What kind of mentality is that? confused

The Shack

I've no idea if I could do the forgiveness thing either as I've never been in a situation like that but I think I'd try hard. I remember Gordon Wilson, the father whose daughter was killed in the Enniskillen bombing in the late eighties. I was living in Belfast at the time and the positive effect that man's public declaration of forgiveness for the bombers had on everyone and on the peace movement in Northern Ireland at the time was awesome.

The Shack

It is - it's fiction but with in depth dialogue. Basically deals with a father's encounter with God after his youngest child is abducted and murdered - sounds a bit grim put like that but it's full of hope and beauty. the best explanation I've come across yet of forgiveness too.

The Shack

Anyone out there read "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young? I've just finished it and will need to read it again to fully take in some of the concepts. I found it a great read - perhaps the more so because it confirmed to me the importance of spirituality and relationship over religion.

RE: dont understand

I don't understand either - but on another rural road in Scotland whre I used to live I saw someone daily walking 12 miles picking up rubbish that had been dumped as he went. So there are a few responsible people around. applause
