Yeah they took pretty much every major city in South Vietnam on 1st Feb 1968, Kissinger then commenced negotiations for surrender/end of hostilities depending on how you see things.
I was posted as IC Transport NZ HQ V Force Saigon from January 1967 till end second week of the Tet offensive February 1968, was then shipped to Singapore and kept there for couple weeks before return NZ
@Name_Taken_Too: I was in Saigon 1st February 1968 when the Tet Offensive took place, the Vietcong blew a hole in the US embassy outer wall, they occupied the building for couple of days until Marines choppered in on the roof and routed the VC. The Building with the helicopter on the roof might be Gen Westmoreland, MAV HQ building not the Embassy which can be viewed
It is the American Embassy building in Saigon, like y0u say 1975, the roof was a helipad they are evacuating Vietnamese, the US embassy building was demolished by the communists and there is now another US embassy building that is build further back on the same site. The tank photo is North Vietnamese tank entering the SVN Presidents Palace.
Of course there is, its commonly called rebirth, our energy departs after completion of the absolution and we enter the Bardo, the in-between state of being. HH Dalia Lama has most certainly proven he is the reincarnate of the thirteenth Dalai Lama, he is the 14th incarnate of Dalai Lama. HH Karmapa Lama is currently living out his 17th incarnation.
Try studying Lam Rim then you could make an informed decision
For well over hundred years farmers in oz burnt off during the winter, they lit ground fires (in the mountains on the ridge tops) that burnt slowly reducing flammable martial like bracken that would otherwise, more often than not fuel tree top fires which cause much less devastation, slow burning fires that most small creatures are easily able t avoid. Enter academic morons into fire services, forest management and politics straight out of universities who have very little or no practical rural like experience, here in Australia in early 1990's banned prudent winter burn off Australia wide. Since then in direct consequence town after town has burnt to the ground in passing
A blaze at a massive Tesla battery site in Australia that started three days ago was brought under control on Monday, firefighters said.
A 13-tonne lithium battery inside a shipping container had caught fire at the site near Geelong, about an hour's drive from Australia's second city Melbourne, the Country Fire Service (CFA) said. "There was one battery pack on fire to start with, but it did spread to a second pack that was very close to it," incident controller Ian Beswicke said in a statement.
Mitholz - the tranquil Swiss village facing a time bomb
"I was 12," she says. "I, my mother and my grandmother were asleep. There was a huge explosion, we saw fire everywhere, and mum said: 'We've got to get out!' The explosion came from a vast World War Two Swiss army munitions depot buried in the mountain above Mitholz.
It was supposed to be safe but, in December 1947, 3,000 tonnes of ammunition blew up in what was, at the time, the world's biggest non-nuclear explosion.
Unfortunately that alpine idyll is about to change. Three thousand tonnes of ammunition may have blown up in 1947, but 3,500 tonnes were left. "They tell us they have to remove it from the mountain so we all have to leave," says Sven.
It's not the first time Switzerland has had to remove dangerous explosives from public spaces.
During World War Two, many key tunnels, alpine passes and bridges were mined, in a bid to thwart invasion. The practice continued during the Cold War, and for decades the explosives stayed where they were, apparently forgotten.
In 2001, 11 people died in the Gotthard Tunnel when a fire broke out following a collision between two lorries. It emerged that large quantities of explosives stored there years ago were still in a depot close to the tunnel mouth.

The Sumatra earthquake in 2004 for a short time at least snuffed out five wars, the lunatics fighting in Aceh in northern , also war in Southern Thailand, the conflict in Myanmar, on in Sri Lanka and I think also one in Africa.
Earthquake tremors were felt in West Bengal and Bihar, to the west of the epicentre, and up to Arunachal Pradesh to the east
A mild earthquake struck Hooghly in West Bengal late evening today. Earthquake tremors were felt in several areas of West Bengal, including capital Kolkata, and some parts of Odisha and Jharkhand.
Millions of Sydney residents will spend another month in lockdown, authorities announced Wednesday (today), citing a still-growing coronavirus outbreak and low vaccination rates.
