RE: Christian Deprogramming

not to complicated really, we shouldn't grasp onto our thoughts.
If we impute bad then we condition our assessment result as bad.
If impute good we delude ourselves its good. It just is.
As much as observe your thoughts, just be aware please don't hold solid what is not solid....we should not grasp onto our thoughts, rather just observe our thoughts.

You can find better answer in Geshe Sopa's discourse, please take your time, make PDF of that page and spend few months considering what's been said

RE: Christian Deprogramming

breaker breaker please excuse this attempt offers a link that may help you to gain some insight into how you might.
Myself i have sat before Geshe Lhundrub Sopa, twice took teaching from Geshe Sopa on occasions that he appeared at Chenrezig Institute in Queensland Australia. I do have photo of Geshe Sopa on my alter.
You'll likely find whats said in the discourse a little confusing, it is a teaching for Buddhist students familiar with the Buddha Dharma and the Tibetan path. Your question has complicated answer...

Geshe Sopa is a highly realized Buddhist teacher in the Mahayana Tradition he resides in the USA.

RE: Christian Deprogramming

Part 2
5 ways to guard your mind against negative thoughts:

1. Never watch too many TV programs that are full of negativity: When we go home from our work life, we are so tired to do something creative. Then, we switch on the TV and keep watching for rest of the time. No matter, there is something useful coming or not, we keep checking for the excited stuff. We like to hear about other people (and love to hear negative).

Stop doing that. Set a limit and leave it to do something different and something creative. Life keeps going, and time will never come back. Use it, rather than just passing it.

2. Stay away from negative people: Don’t dwell time with negative people. Yes, it is difficult to stay away from people who are always around us. But you have to take care of the people who keep talking negative all the time.
They love to talk about other’s shortcomings, as in that way, they can hide their own for a while. Stop caring about those, who don’t need your care. They are happy with themselves. Instead, look inside of you, and work on it.

3. Don’t criticize others: We all love to talk negative about other people. When some are complaining about any celebrity or politician, or even neighbors, we immediately join them. We even enter their personal life, virtually, and keep talking rubbish for hours.

We know they cannot listen to us, and even do not give a damn about it. Stop criticizing others and grow yourself.

4. Keep yourself busy with something positive: If you have one hour to reach your destination, and you are sitting comfortably in a train, why don’t use that time? Read some book you always wanted, which will to sharp your skills or improve yourself.

For example, if you are driving, why don’t you play some podcast on your favorite subject? In that way not only you are using that time to grow yourself, but you are also guarding your mind from the negativity around you. You will not feel anger, when stuck in traffic, because your mind will be focused on something else.

5. Take a pause, think and then respond: No matter how much we filter the information we are getting into our mind, we grab something negative from here and there. And it reflects instantly in our activities.

For example, if someone is talking about something negative with us, we immediately get out of control and start doing the same with him. Remember, he is doing so because of his thoughts. But it is not mandatory to go with the flow.

It is always your decision how you respond. One negative response will create chains of the negative thoughts. Always take a pause, think positively, and then respond. Always be positive, think positive and act positive.

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” – Buddha –

unedited I've copied this into here because i think its good advice. Part 1
Guard Your Mind Against the Negative Thoughts
By Deepak Rajpal

“Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power.” – Shirley MacLaine –

Today, most of us are very conscious about our health and body. We take care what to eat and when to eat. When it comes to what we are feeding our mind, we don’t care much about it.

Look around you. Whatever you are watching and whatever you are hearing is your food for your mind. Whatever you feed it today will affect your tomorrow.

If your thoughts are pure, your intentions will be pure, and so your actions. If you are feeding negativity inside your mind, it will come out with every activity, eventually.

Nowadays, there is too much negativity around us, and we should always take care what to absorb and what to pass over.

For example, how much news you read or watch every day? There are many people today, who spent many hours in front of the TV, watching same and same news again. You know very well, what is the ratio of positive and negative news there? Most of them are full of negativity. They may not affect you instantly, but surely come later in each of your thoughts and actions.

To see how it affects us in long term, let us have another example. What first thought comes to your mind, when one day your loved one does not come at home on time? Do you worry that something bad happened to him/her? There may be various possibilities he/she could not make it in time, but your first thought would be “Ohh!
There might be an accident or other disaster.”

It all comes because you have seen plenty of news, where the reason for someone not coming on time is that something unfortunate happened to him. Or you may have read that kind of stories in books.

There is nothing bad reading and watching such a kind of content, but there should be balance. Too much of it, affects you deep inside, without your intention.

RE: Kanye West going for President of the USA

minor detail

financial reprieve that Trump’s businesses received turned out to be temporary. In 1991, his Taj Mahal casino, in Atlantic City, filed for bankruptcy protection, and, not very long after, so did his other two casinos—the Trump Plaza and the Trump Castle. In 1992, the Plaza Hotel filed for bankruptcy, and Trump agreed to turn over many of his remaining assets, including Trump Shuttle, to his creditors.

PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed after 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt. Trump Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008 recession.

RE: .5 percent of the male population in the world today are Genghis Kahn's descendants

Buddhism is a philosophy not a faith based religion, a philosophy founded on debate, not faith. To understand the philosophy and thus follow the path we need to learn about it.
In the Tibetan tradition the teachings of Gautama Buddha are transmitted by qualified teachers as the Buddha taught antidotes for our ills....

Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment (bodhi) while meditating underneath a Ficus religiosa.

Shakyamuni Buddha (563-483 BC), the historical founder of Buddhism, was born a prince of the Shakya clan in Lumbini, North India. The young prince was shielded from human suffering as a child, but he later ventured out of the palace and saw an old man, a sick person and a corpse for the first time. When he saw a holy man, Siddhartha felt a desire to renounce the worldly life and follow a spiritual path.

RE: .5 percent of the male population in the world today are Genghis Kahn's descendants

Siddhartha was the third Buddha 's known to have appeared on earth, evidence has been found along Silk Road area (I think) that dates Buddhist teaching on earth 20.000 years ago.
So yes the Khan found value in words of a Monk.
17th Karmapa is the current spiritual leader of the Karma Kagyu lineage dates back to Siddhartha time, he is going to stand in for HH Dalai Lama when HH transits into the Bardo, loosely translated "bardo" is the state of existence intermediate between death and rebirth.

multi-meter now topping that battery up.

Please note these panels are for 12 volt batteries, some trucks have 24 volt systems and they require 24volt solar panel, best i found was on amazon quite expensive but good

RE: Are you keeping your car battery charged?

The maintenance trickle charge solar panels are not intended for charging flat batteries.
Before attaching trickle charge solar panel its advisable the battery is fully charged by 12v battery charger.
I've couple of other panels on farm fences the biggest panel on those to is 20watt
10watt maintenance trickle charge solar panel of the type photographed be all you will need.
I cannot recommend (can not) the put on your dash glass covered panels, i tried those and replaced with the flexible panels.

I advise other, I have five and all the batteries are pretty much full all the time.
Thia is all that's needed, hardwired to the battery not cig plug

RE: Are you keeping your car battery charged?

I used CTEK connectors hardwired to the battery rather than trickle feeding back through cigarette lighter plug, whichever what you have done should improve your battery life....good stuffwave

RE: Real reason US lost Vietnam War - US troops were in open revolt killing over 300 Officers

The Vietnam war (1954-1975) was lost on 1st day of February 1968 when Vietnamese VC and North Vietnamese Forces launched the Tet Offensive, they over ran pretty much every major town in South Vietnam, they took the American Embassy in Saigon and locked down thousands of US Troops right across South Vietnam.
I know that is factual because i was there, I was in Saigon driving round all over the place at that time.

From that point on Kissinger sought peaceful exit he was in Paris in September of 1968
Negotiations that led to final accord began in 1968, after various lengthy delays. As a result of the accord, the International Control Commission (ICC) was replaced by the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) to fulfill the agreement. The main negotiators of the agreement were United States National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger and North Vietnamese politburo member Lê Ð?c Th?; the two men were awarded the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts, although Lê Ð?c Th? refused to accept it.

The stuff you alluded in part may well have occurred as Anti Vietnam War Protest spread world wide, prior to my deployment (left NZ end of 1966) I witnessed Anti War Protests in New Zealand while transporting American Drill Teams around in NZ.
So its apparently true odd grenade likely got tossed into officers tents, US Navy had riots on Aircraft Carrier while on station off Hanoi.
The first GI killed in Vietnam were killed in 1959 and the last (18 Marines) were killed by Cambodians in 1975.

RE: Currant Thoughts ...

Here in Australia there are many problems arising from the way Western nations behave them-selves in international affairs, one that is rather hard to comprehend is the level of support our elected officials give to the Chinese government industrialization. The level of corruption would probably be better expression, as most politicians here in Australia maintain personal Chinese business interests, and have or do promote trade with China.

I am saying this because back stabbing Mao attempts to rearrange Chinese society clearly failed when he sent Chinese academic's out into the countryside planting rice, (probably Australian academic fellows should still be required to do like experience before been granted PhD’s in any subject, particularly medical and international affairs) hundreds and thousand of Chinese academic's died because Mao was of course full of it.

Communist China today, especially since major economic reforms were enacted by Deng Xiaoping in 1978.
The Chinese are making big mistake in thinking all western people are all dumb or something, I am of course referring to the China that has been manufacturing goods and giving them away in flooding the world with free goods for a very long time. What I mean is the same China today has been producing all manner of goods partly by using prisoners to produce the goods, but also manufacturing goods in State owned factories for what has been a very long time, since 1978 actually.

They have been, are swamping our countries with free goods with a motivation to cripple capitalism.
To demonstrate I offer this example I've purchased quite a few Chinese made Chainsaws.
In the past prior to the rush of our political representatives to piss in the pocket of an emerging expansion of un-fretted greed, America and Sweden had produced most chainsaws that we obtained and used on farms, in forests etc. Stihl chainsaws (USA) and Husqvarna (Sweden) were the most common available chainsaws; prices ranged for a commercial saw between AU$800.00 and AU$2000.00.

Today we buy Chinese made chainsaw for as low as $80.00 (83cc) the most I've paid AU$171.44 cents for brand new 61.5cc chainsaw being the most recent Chinese chainsaw that I have purchased. The seller delivered the saw to my postal addeess here in Australia. The saw was purchased online in Australia and the seller’s price included delivery included in the purchase price.
To post an item around that size cost postage say AU$36.00...though its possible business bulk posting may have paid a lessor sum.

The seller purchased the saw from wholesale agent who the seller paid money to, and the wholesale agent paid a truck to delivered the saw to the seller, and the wholesale agent had also to have paid money when they purchased the saw from an import agent who had paid for shipping company and the transport of the saw from China to Australia, also probably a freight company that delivered the saw to the importers company storage address, latter had also paid money when they obtained the chainsaw from the exporter in China, who too was also paid money or transport shipping to Australia plus of course insurance etc etc…

China makes a big mistake in thinking all western people are dumb. The Chinese government Peoples Communist Party cannot be trusted anymore than the stupid liars we have here playing politics here in Australia.

You should have listened better at school, had you done so you would know Tasmania was once called (Anthoonij van Diemenslandt ) or Van Diemen's Land.

The Dutch explorer Abel Tasman was the first European to land on the shores of Tasmania in 1642. Landing at Blackman Bay and later having the Dutch flag flown at North Bay, Tasman named the island Anthoonij van Diemenslandt in honour of Anthony van Diemen, Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, who had sent Tasman on his voyage of discovery. Between 1772 and 1798, only the southeastern portion of the island was visited. Tasmania was not known to be an island until Jacob Craig and George Bass circumnavigated it in the Norfolk in 1798–1799.

so there you go

RE: US Civil War 2 ?

So yes, no country has a right to rule, enforce there will over other countries. People must be allowed to have a say who is to represent their interest, in the same way the founding fathers of American democracy likely intended.

America is of course not the only countries that has repeatedly interfered in the affairs of others.

Most politician in supposedly democratic countries around the world and certainly here in Australia are not representing the will of the people, which is what they are paid to do, a democracy to my mind infers that elected representative is given a persons vote to attend parliament and express the will of the people who voted for there right to represent the voters will, and the leader of elected government is supposed to ensure government implement the will of the people.
In other words a politician in my view takes money promising to listen to the electors and express the opinions of the electors on the floor of the house of representation and expressing there own views is the conduct of a thief..
