RE: Canada Is Falling Apart

yep a US$24 trillion wake up + lions share of $75 trillion legally binding financial instruments known as derivatives that under international law can only be written off in the advent of a world wide international conflict.
+ that is now a world wide agreement that no one nation is ever again going to dominate international trade. No one nation is ever again going to be allowed to dominate international trade like the dirty clowns proclaimed in 1930's that killed at least 64 million humans and goodness knows how many trillions of other sentient beings that the same idiots don't even bother counting. The same associated group of clowns that proclaimed another new world order in 1984.

RE: Civil War in Syria or The Armageddon War???

On October 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the need to preserve Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and the exit of all illegal foreign forces on its territory.

During a press conference with President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi today, Putin stressed that the establishment of sustainable stability in Syria is only through the commitment to the respect of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is a principled position for Russia. Putin pointed out that the Syrian territory should be evacuated from the illegal foreign military presence.

Turkey and Russia will carry out joint patrolling in northern Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday on the outcomes of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.

Prabowo Subianto, a controversial former general who was opposition leader in Widodo's first term and sole challenger in April's bitterly fought poll, will serve as defence minister, Widodo said.

"I don’t need to tell you about his role. He knows more than me," said Widodo, referring to Prabowo, who used to head the country's special forces and has been accused by human rights activists of abuses against civilians.

He was Widodo's main rival in the 2014 presidential election as well and had also challenged that result.

President Bashar Assad said on Tuesday that Syria would support Kurdish fighters in the northeast of the war-torn country against Turkish soldiers and their Syrian proxies.

Turkey will not be launching a new offensive against Kurdish militias in northern Syria, following a five-day pause in hostilities and high-level talks in Moscow, Ankara’s Defense Ministry said.

Think Trump and Erdogan is trying to push Sunni Syrians back into Syria, I don't think Al Assad will take any notice of what Mr Trump or Erdogan say.
We need to remember America wasn't invited to deploy in Syria, America was repeatedly asked to get out of the country by the democratically elected President of the sovereign nation called Syria that Lucy also bombed.

In the past America supported arms deliveries to ISL (McCain) via the Saudi's and Israel and the latter is currently stealing Syrian Oil and bombing Syria and Syria's Iranian allies to, so no love there.

Erdogan is no friend of Syria or Lebanon or the Kurds, or Iran or indeed Iraq, and its very very unlikely that the Kurds will hand there heavy equipment over to Turkey, very unlikely.

Turkey to suspend Syria offensive 'to allow Kurdish withdrawal'

The development followed talks in Ankara between US Vice-President Mike Pence and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

All fighting will be paused for five days, and the US will help facilitate an "orderly withdrawal" of Kurdish-led troops from what Turkey terms a "safe zone" on the border, Mr Pence said.

Turkey to halt military operation against Kurds in N. Syria, ceasefire will last for 120 hours – US VP Pence

The ceasefire between the Turkish military backed by affiliated militants and the Kurdish-led fighters is set to last 120 hours. This time will be spent on the withdrawal of the Kurdish forces from the 20-mile (32 kilometer) strip along the Syrian border, where Turkey wants to set up a “safe zone.” The process of the Kurdish militias’ withdrawal will be “facilitated” by the US, Pence stated without elaborating.

While Pence insisted Ankara promised to not attack the Syrian border town of Kobani, Turkey’s FM said no such commitments were made.

Apart from that, the town – as well as several other locations close to the country’s border – was already entered by Syria’s Army, according to state media. Last weekend, Damascus seemingly reached a deal with the Kurds and vowed to protect its soil from “Turkish aggression.” Therefore, it remains unclear whether Ankara will actually press forward with occupying all of its envisioned “safe zone.”

Ankara confirms ‘pausing’ operation against Kurds in Syria, but says its goals stay unchanged

Turkey intends to pursue its initial strategy and create a 32-kilometer deep ‘safe zone’ along its border with Syria stretching from the Euphrates River to Syria’s border with Iraq. He added that, under the fresh deal with the US, this zone would be controlled by Turkish troops.

Brexit: What is in Boris Johnson's new deal with the EU?

A revised Brexit deal has been agreed by the UK and EU. What is in it?

All sides want to avoid the return of a "hard border" between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland after Brexit - with checks and infrastructure which could be targeted by paramilitary groups.

Coming up with solutions to this - acceptable to all sides - has been very challenging.

RE: Think The World Has Gone Crazy Now?

No but America has $24 Trillion debit + owns a lions share of $75 Trillion derivative binding instruments floating about with made-in-america written all over them. As of September 24, 2019, 334 mass shootings have occurred in 2019. Some 709 people have been shot and killed by US police in year 2019...

US Officials are reviewing plans to evacuate up to 50 nuclear bombs that have long been stored at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey in the wake of Ankara's military offensive in northern Syria, according to a report from the New York Times.

The Cold War-era B61 nuclear bombs are said to be 100-250 miles from the Syrian border, according to The Guardian. A former US official told the outlet that Turkish diplomats responded to suggestions about moving the bombs by saying Turkey would start to develop its own.

The American nuclear bombs believed to be stored at Turkey's Incirlik Air Base - a fact chewed over by the media without any official confirmation - seem to no longer be a guarantor of peace between the two NATO allies, but rather a relic of history.

Per a New York Times report citing two unnamed American officials, over this past weekend, State and Energy Department officials were “quietly reviewing plans” to evacuate about 50 tactical nuclear weapons that the United States is thought to have long stored at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, roughly 100 miles from the Syrian border.

The report quoted senior officials as saying that the bombs had become Tayyip Erdogan’s hostages, so that their removal from the shared, US-Turkish base would virtually be the end the of the Turkish-American alliance.

There has notably been no confirmation from the US or NATO authorities about the said nuclear warheads indeed being stationed at the base.

But instead talk a whole lot of crap about what you think others should do, bath in mass murder, steal from the weak and travel and feast at the expense of the electors while big noting your own stupidity...not me!!

RE: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHATS GOING ON IN HONG KONG??

No body will be taking on China, Trump has tried but America is loosing with that stunt not China. America is not capable of taking on China. And in respect to the subject matter of Hong Kong, perhaps it escapes theee that Britain and America together set about trying to control the Han Chinese by flooding China with Opium. The Chinese rose up against that insanity and the lease that Britain obtained over Hong Kong and Territories was agreed upon to allow a continuance of international trade with China but now China has decided enough is enough the lease has expired...its quite simple...

I believe Communist China in first place actually set out to break capitalism by giving every thing away. By giving goods away for free China created a massive change in the standard of living for most Chinese in China. Was very quick method of rising up in the capitalist system, none the less by default the system is subject to the whats goes up, equally so comes down law e.g. Newtons Law: 1. Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it. Force equals mass times acceleration and 3. the third law states that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Britain didn't mind pulling the rug out under Australia and New Zealand trade, both counties fed the UK during WW2 and in return sent our countries farmers to the wall when it rushed into joining the EU.

The Bank of Scotland promptly sunk Iceland with hidden deceptive currency loans written in Swiss Franks or something. And now that the EU is falling apart e.g. Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece all found there economies into the red. So the UK wants out, seeks to retain its sovereignty or something. you new (American born and raised) Prime Minister finally appears to comprehend the extent the trouble the UK has got itself into.

I think no nation is going to do anything to China, that the UK is in a flux of change and it is something that is moving very quickly...

RE: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHATS GOING ON IN HONG KONG??

yes it appears so

RE: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHATS GOING ON IN HONG KONG??

The American new world order 1984 that was in part implemented by many countries stated or words to the effect that the price of goods and services in US$$$ was solely to be governed by supply and demand and tariffs were to not to be used, according to clown Ronald Regan...
In many ways that New World Order has been a failure.
Government's like the one here in Australia after selling off all the peoples asserts to there rich mates, have acted in breach of promises made to the people, that the price of goods and services would be solely governed by supply and demand. As they promptly commenced fiddling with the internal money supply. A bunch of clowns known as the reserve bank of Australia governors keep resetting government interest charged or paid on money. The money supply impacts on the price of goods and service so prices have not been solely driven by consumer supply and demand as promised.

Outside of that system (which Australia is also a member of) is the Chinese created One Belt Initiative, that international trading community has some 46 country member states.
The "One Belt Initiative" does not settle trade in US$$$'s, and the prices of goods and services are not necessarily or in any way governed or associated to anything America says, does or thinks because America is not a member of the One Belt Initiative group of nations and the One Belt Initiative group do not settle trade in US$$$'s.
Please google for further information on the One Belt Initiative

As best as I can tell the tariff and trade war America has instigated against China is not in the interest of the UK or any other country its quite silly really, very damaging to the international community in many ways. It is been driven by one nation that is actually bankrupt and attempting to get out of the extensive US$$ Trillions it owes, well over 50 Trillion US$'s.

Sino-British Joint Declaration

Sino–British Joint Declaration is an international treaty signed between the People's Republic of China and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 19 December 1984 in Beijing

At the time of the lease signing, Hong Kong Island had already been ceded to the UK in perpetuity under the Treaty of Nanjing in 1842 after the First Opium War, and the southern part of the Kowloon Peninsula as well as the Stonecutters Island had also been ceded to the UK in perpetuity under the Convention of Beijing in 1860 after the Second Opium War.

2. The Government of the United Kingdom declares that it will restore Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China with effect from 1 July 1997.

China says Sino-British Joint Declaration on Hong Kong no longer has meaning

The Sino-British Joint Declaration, signed in 1984 by then British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Chinese Premier Zhao Ziyang, laid out how Britain would end its century-and-a-half long rule over Hong Kong. It also guarantees the city’s rights and freedoms under the “two systems” formula.

Under Hong Kong’s mini-constitution, the Basic Law, Hong Kong was guaranteed its freedoms for “at least 50 years” after 1997.

Lu told reporters during a regular briefing on Friday that the document no longer binds China.

“Now Hong Kong has returned to the motherland’s embrace for 20 years, the Sino-British Joint Declaration, as a historical document, no longer has any practical significance, and it is not at all binding for the central government’s management over Hong Kong. The UK has no sovereignty, no power to rule and no power to supervise Hong Kong after the handover,” Lu said.

RE: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHATS GOING ON IN HONG KONG??

The streets will likely run in blood, just like the streets in Tibet did, like Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia, the UK, Australia and New Zealand took communists on in Malaysia and Borneo.
Taking on China is not something the west is capable of, China has defence ties with Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, South Africa, Cambodia and quite a few other members of the One Belt Road group of nations.
Russia alone has more nuclear bombs than America, so my answer is a very loud NO

about 600,000 Thomas Cook customers are currently on holidays

The £900m cash injection, which Thomas Cook hopes will be completed in early October, is meant to help the company avoid bankruptcy as it heads into winter, when holiday bookings are at their lowest.

However, the firm warned its new owners may cancel its publicly traded shares and take the company private. It said the deal would also significantly reduce the value of shares held by other investors.

“That would explain why the shares have fallen another 14% on the latest news. Investors are simply trying to cash out and crystalise any value left in their investment before the refinancing, for fear there could be nothing left if they wait.”

China's Fosun set to save Thomas Cook as key terms agreed

Thomas Cook also said in July that it was working to secure new investment from shareholder Fosun Tourism which would see the Chinese group take control of the business, along with Thomas Cook’s lenders whose debt would be converted into equity.

Earlier this year, Thomas Cook said it was exploring a sale of its airline business, which consists of German carrier Condor and UK, Spanish and Scandinavian operations, but a further profit warning in May left management seeking a more radical solution to save the business.

As well as Club Med, Fosun International also owns English Premier League soccer team Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.

'WE'RE BEING HELD HOSTAGE'

Meanwhile tourists in Tunisia, who booked their tours with Thomas Cook, have been barricaded inside a resort over fears the travel firm will be unable to pay bills.

As tens of thousands of holiday-makers await news on the company's future, Thomas Cook customers staying at the Les Orangers hotel in Tunisia said they had been locked inside until they paid 6000 Tunisian dinars, about $A3097, to catch their flights home.

"We're being held hostage," British tourist Ryan Farmer told the BBC.

Another British tourist, Chris Rutherford, said the hotel reception "told us we need to pay £4000 ($A7372) to be allowed to leave".

about 600,000 Thomas Cook customers are currently on holidays

September 23, 20193:00pm

The CEO of British travel firm Thomas Cook said it was a “deeply sad day” and apologised “to millions” after the cash-strapped travel company went into compulsory liquidation, leaving 600,000 holiday-makers stranded worldwide.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed the tour operator, one of the oldest and largest in the world, had “ceased trading with immediate effect” after last-minute negotiations failed to save it.

There are about 600,000 Thomas Cook customers currently on holidays, including 150,000 from the UK.

Thomas Cook, which at 179 years old is one of the world’s oldest travel providers, runs airlines, cruises, hotels, resorts and travel packages for 19 million customers a year in 16 countries. It also employs about 22,000 staff worldwide.

Its recent financial strife has been attributed to tough online competition, the high price of jet fuel and concerns over Brexit.

Chinese firm Fosun had agreed to backing a $1.6 billion refinancing but Thomas Cook’s banks ordered it to cough up an extra $368 million as a contingency to see it through winter. It was unable to secure the extra funds before a deadline today.

In a statement, Thomas Cook said the company’s board “concluded that it had no choice but to take steps to enter into compulsory liquidation with immediate effect”.

Thomas Cook Group plc has been in financial difficulty for some time.
BBC reports a group of financiers including Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland have given Thomas Cook just days to secure £200 million in emergency funding or it may be forced to cease operations, which could result in the largest peacetime repatriation in British history, with 150,000 travellers potentially stranded

On 22 September 2019, a last ditch attempt to save the Thomas Cook Group failed to pass. Fosun refused to add another £200 million to a £900 million loan. It was confirmed that the UK government were unable to assist the group and that Thomas Cook Group fell into administration on 23 September 2019, ceasing operations immediately and leaving 600,000 stranded at their holiday destinations

RE: Time

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the name for mean solar time of the longitude (0°) of the Royal Greenwich Observatory in England. ... In 1925 GMT was adopted by astronomers so that the astronomical day began at midnight, the same time as the civil day.

When it is 7 am in New York, it is 12 noon in Greenwich, because New York is west of Greenwich. For western longitudes, add the time difference to the local time. (And for eastern longitudes, subtract the time difference). We need to find the time at Greenwich (GMT) in order to calculate the chart.

The image you posted is explained thus:
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the time measured on the Earth's zero degree line of longitude, or meridian. This runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, passing through the Old Royal Observatory in the London suburb of Greenwich.

So why? the answer is likely found in this subject:
1 : the act or practice of navigating. 2 : the science of getting ships, aircraft, or spacecraft from place to place especially : the method of determining position, course, and distance traveled. 3 : ship traffic or commerce.

How do you navigate by the sun?
Hold your watch horizontal and level to the ground. Point the hour hand directly towards the sun. The imaginary line that sits between the hour hand and the 12 o'clock mark will run north to south. By using the shadow test above, you'll be able to determine which way is east and west and navigate as you wish.

Or get serious:
Celestial navigation, also known as astronavigation, is the ancient and modern practice of [position fixing] that enables a navigator to transition through a space without having to rely on estimated calculations, or dead reckoning, to know their position. Celestial navigation uses "sights", or angular measurements taken between a celestial body (e.g. the Sun, the Moon, a planet, or a star) and the visible horizon. The Sun is most commonly used, but navigators can also use the Moon, a planet, Polaris, or one of 57 other navigational stars whose coordinates are tabulated in the nautical almanac and air almanacs.

What is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - and why does it matter?
