Sometimes when I view people's profiles I'm surprised to see that they are retired at anything from age 50 onwards In my country, I need to work until I am 66 years and 7 months until I can draw a pension. I'm 65 now, work 32 hours a week and love what I do so as long as my health holds up I plan to continue working up until that age and beyond hopefully. Sometimes I wonder whether people say they are retired as they are unemployed and see no further job prospects or whether it's about different approaches to retirement in different countries
If you're referring to the forums then predominantly 'other cultures' consist of the Irish and there's only so much Guiness and shamrocks people can take, yanno
So two weeks later I have found out where Dan is being detained and have been working through the process of applying for a video visit
My workplace and management have been incredibly supportive, they understand that myself and others have taken a huge hit and have organised psychological support for me on Thursday
You would've turned 100 last Saturday if you were still alive, how bizarre
You departed when I was 39, it seems like yesterday but now I'm nearly as old as you were when I said my last goodbye to you
Still your baby though
Dad, you left this mortal coil when I was 13 and you were 63 so now I'm older than you
I remember Mum was very sad for a while but then as she approached her own death, she confided in me that she never really loved you which was quite confronting as I thought she worshipped the ground you walked on
Anyway, wherever the two of you are now I hope you are in peace and I'm just getting on with it and doing the best I can like I did back then
