You confused geographical areas.
Macedonia is a geagraphical area in the Balcans divided between 3 countries.
Greece, FYROM ( the official UN name) and Bulgaria.
The Macedonian part of Greece has borders with the other 2,and in the Greek part,they speak Greek.
while in Fyrom ("Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" their official name,.they speak Slavic and in The Bulgarian part,slavic too)
In the time of Alexander the Great,all the Macedonian area,was Greek speaking.
Greece doesn't recognize the country as Macedonia only as their official UN name,"FYROM".

Claiming to be descendants of Alexander the Great is preposterous.
