To become a citizen of any country does and should not only depend on someones education or skill sets. There are other things like character, loyalty and past history which come into play. I have worked with many contract workers over the years and never saw any treated like your speaking about. As a matter of fact most of them loved it here and are still here to this day. A few got here under the amnesty ruling ... This was years ago.

Come on its not that expensive. One of the requirements I think is showing proof he is financially able to support you. You know having a job, money in the bank ect. I think he will have to sign papers to that affect stating he will be responsible to support you for X years even if you divorce ...

Anything worth having doesn't come easy at least thats been my experience ...

For me I wish they made it harder and were more selective in many cases. I also would like to rescind the amnesty that was given to so many who were here by jumping the border or entered illegally.

The best way to speed up the process I am told is to have your paperwork in good order. Mistakes even small ones at times eat up time.

I would say I have met about 8 ladies on line although none from this site.

I would have to say one. If your talking "In Love". Most of the time the fantasy was better than the reality. I am sure most felt the same way. 2 however had stronger feeling for me. They were great ladies but I just didn't feel it. Both became very good friends and I love them as friends knowing them made this whole trip worth while.

The ONE feels the same way towards me luckily and we are looking to be married in Jan 2010.

Who doesnt like youth? I have yet to find youth who love old men so I cant comment on that. I would guess is more related to sugar daddy than love.

Well you have had you daughter for 21 yrs and she is getting worse so I would suggest that you can not help her. She needs help but not from you. The only thing you can do for the sake of her soon to be new born is to go to some medical support facility, Church, or other reputable group and solicit help for her on her behalf. This is not a simple or easy fix as you Know far better than any of us. At best you can support your daughter but do not enable her. Get outside help from professional. NOW...

Here are my thoughts. Your the parent and the decision is yours. You need to take your child's feelings into account as a responsible parent but children don't have the mental capacity to think this deep. They have not developed those skill sets yet. I know it may sound a bit hard but being a parent is a hard job. I think things will go best if you lead and your child follows. I think the trouble with todays families is everyone allows the children to have to great of inputs at to young an age. If they could think this clearly at this young of an age then they wouldnt need parents. OKAY let the shelling begin

Yeap we have rain here but isn't it funny. It comes every year and we only think about it when it causes us a problem. I am surprised at some of the building sites I have seen used here in TN. As a matter of fact I live on one. But this summer I did a few things to address it. So far so good.

When I lived in CA is was the opposite problem usually like those discussed in Australia. The land is usually dry and when it raids the storm drains cant handle it. Although they did have lots of dams that would fill very quickly during major storm events.

I know the next place I have will be on high ground.

The time to think about those kinds of issues is before the act not years after. We keep talking about the men and women roles, both of which in my view acted irresponsibly and deserve what they get. I will add that I was one of them and when you make bad decisions early in life I dont think you ever really recover from them 100%. In my view its the children that need the focus and I dont think they get the fair break they deserve.

I think Bonan is on the right track. If I had enough money I would start my own charity and go to the poorer countries and find children without means who were smart and motivated and provide them support and education. Once they were about to enter College I would ask that they make a contract to agree and help atleast 1 other person that are not related to them who met certain criterion. Kind of a pass it forward if you will. Of course the hope would be that someday in the distance future this would help many more people and anyone person has the money for.
Oh and should anyone fail to perform because of poor choices they would be out.

Well in my view its not as simple and some may think. Hooking up if you will is the easy part but it doesn't seal the deal so to speak. People from other countries especially from poorer ones are looking for opportunities. Wouldn't you? They can learn the language of their new country but very few people who learn a language later in life understand it like a native born or child who spoke it from an early age. So you will have times of misunderstanding.

Additionally people from other countries have different ideas of right and wrong. Not in everything but some things this can prove to be a problem also. They also have cultural differences that can at time create challenges. All of these things are not worked out in the first year or two and sometimes they may never be. I would recommend anyone man or woman to cover there bases before marring anyone from another country. Many do not last and unfortunately many are started under faults pretenses.

I am speaking based on personal experience. My mother was not a native born American and neither was my second wife. So not meaning to throw water on your love/lust flame just practice CYOA and if all goes well it will not matter but if it goes sour your not damaged too bad.
I know others will not agree with what I have said but that's my reality regardless of your feelings.

Based on my track record its a challenge for me regardless of where she may be from.

I long for those days when I didn't know anyone who passed. Now I know of all of them and so many seem so young.

It wasn't that far back. I think they changed it in the 70s after the first gas crisis. Before that is was the Basic rule. If you didn't crash you were not going to fast.

What I like about the movie is that it shows what can be done when someone is compasionate about something. He did all this on his own. Now adays it seems that compassion has been replaced by something else. I must admit I have never been super compassionate but have had a friend or 2 who were. I always envied them for that.

I understand and think most men in our age group think and act this way if they can. I was just speaking in general and not only dating.. If I ask anyone to meet me for lunch or for anything I do so with the expectation of paying their way.

I know what your saying John but there are always those who look for free rides and I dont like to support that way of thinking. I think most have picked up the tab when out with friends. I know I have done so many times but it was out of friendship and love not out of obligation... I have bought strangers drinks before but never picked up their tab.

Seems reasonable and fair enough to me I dont mind paying until someone thinks its my responsibility. I dont like anyone telling me what I should do as I figure I know. If they dont care about what I think move on... THats the idea also isnt it. I just found that those who think they are all that are usually more trouble than they are worth as they are what we call selfish or self centered....

LOOKING FOR Nirvana!! Well I have been reading the threads here and have heard a lot of what I consider fear, ignorance and paranoia regarding the conditions of our world and the need for or inevitalble coming of a New World Order.
I don’t know what everyone else thinks is a new world order but I for one don’t believe that secret societies are any different than any other organization. We have always been run or ruled by Elites. A rose by any other name my friends ... Our countries, Organizations and societies secret or not are run by people and people are what they are. That is the Achilles Heel in my view. Great starts and visions get lost at times by those who come after.
Look at the government which exist today in this world. They have all changed significantly over time. I look at the conditions of the world today and don’t see the dire problems many of you do. Yes we have hunger, yes we have poverty, yes we have crime, corruption and civil disorder. I do see that and they are problems for sure. Well please someone tell me when the WORLD has not had these things. The doomsday, the Sky is Falling; Chicken Little mentality does nothing to fix anything. It actually in my view makes things worse because others less knowing are frightened by the rhetoric. Yet so many find it easier to talk the talk but cannot walk worth a damn. Jim Jones didn’t fix anything although so many listened to his BS and followed. Do you see the aid, healthcare and food sent to poor countried. WHen did that ever happen in our history of mankind?

I feel that never in the history of man has mankind had it so GOOD. Never before have people been so well fed, had such wonderful healthcare, had so much education available and such a high standard of living. Yes some suffer and some do not benefit in all of this. In the past whether you realize it or not, Most Suffered. Most were not educated, Most were not Healthy.
In western countries we complain about the poor. Hell we don’t have poor. Poor people don’t have CARS, Poor people are not FAT, Poor people don’t eat every day, Poor people don’t have solid bowl movements. We have been spoiled for so long that we think we know everything because we have seen or listened to TV, Media or others who then shift our minds to their agenda. People of today dont even know the history or remember recent events of 50 yrs ago let alone how things really were say 300 to 500 yrs ago.

What we have in not perfect. What we have is not equally distributed. What we have in not fair to all and doesn’t meet all needs. What we have however is THE BEST DAMN THING THIS WORLD HAS EVER SEEN.

Oh I feel you!!! My son is now 35. I dont know that I was the perfect dad but he made it through his teen years with minimal scaring... Goodluck and Kudos to all parents who put their children first. Not exclusive to Fathers...
