Stanley in thinking of mammaries just for the production of milk is , alas, too close to the goings on in Kildare and needs a break from the farm.... The breasts have wonderful, divine little nerve endings when touched in the right way, by the right man, are heavenly and have nowt to do with feeding babies. Well maybe grown up ones...

I spent a bomb on a hypnotist ... My excuse ? he was recommended and he had 'rooms' in Merrion Square, I thought he was abit 'odd' but he lightened my purse no problem. He taught me to go into deep relaxation and I would go home and sleep soundly without waking up many times through the night, I had numerous sessions.... to no avail. He got a few hundred out of me. Meditation, relaxation, not watching TV going to bed, walking during the day and cutting out stimulants coffee/tea helped. Most of them are useless and if they work.. i believe its the placebo effect.

Yep, I have noticed alot of men put up photos on their profile taken from a large distance, shades on [or whatever you call them nowadays] sunglasses. You can just tell from the Hairstyle and the clothes that theya re at least 15 to 20 years old.... why? its being economical with the truth... no its lying !!

PeachMelba Glamourpuss... your comment earlier about bartering.. you'd make pancakes makes sense, we did that years ago in a place where i lived, I paint so I would do a paiting for somebody and they would do some electrical work or I'd do some gardening for them, pick the plants etc., and maybe they'd so some carpentry. It's a great idea. Did you go to sheep shearing ? alot of lovely food stalls and local produce. pity about the rain, lashed here too x

Well he'll still have a handy number with all the pavees coming in whinging, and who knows, pedro you could buy a lovely house in Rathkeale when you get the work [cash in hand] for the walking their greyhounds, plastering and maybe even tarmac ing the drives of the elderly in rural places...I'm serious. nobody wants the job... I thought you were a ..... anyway, you have a fantastic way of avoiding questions [in fairness] just an observation... and I was thinking, when Martin Collins retires from Pavee point [which he will be doing soon] would you think of going for the position ? All you do is, let the left wing parties pander to you and be politicallly correct, and go on TV [you look handsome in that grey suit] and anything that is said to you about the pavee lackeens just say 'yees are all against the Travellers' its money for old rope, and like myself you can still take the tablets that you need to be on for life. You will be sitting alot and will have energy for your greyhounds and will have alot of contacts too in the work for Cash arena? are ye wide ??

Rosa I don't talk about the money I have given to charity over the years, or the fact that I work free for Charity [yes the animal one where I come across a huge amount of animal cruelty in your community ] for its size !! I have paid thousands and thousands in taxes all my life to subsidise people on the Dole who work, cutting down hedges, putting pavements down, who dont pay taxes and who drive the latest Van, I will never get the answer, Where do the Traveller community get their Cars, jeeps, all brand new and bought for cash, i also have a friend in the jewellry business.... Watches, bought for cash by a certain section of the Community. I think you will notice that people have moved away from your blog/poll. They have realised, that like all travellers, you are impossible to get a straight answer from. You have NOT answered my question about Travellers on the Dole, the Tax office are after Travellers here, who owe hundreds of thousands, millionaires. Have you visited Rathkeale ? at Christmas? do you know Travellers pay cash for their houses ? and again you will never give me the answer - Where does the money for the Cars, jeeps, Communions, Weddings come from, I am talking about 90 per cent of Travellers ?
For a young woman who is unable to write a decent poll or represent her community you are completely blinkered and biased and not capable of seeing things from my point, you havent an ounce of empathy or compassion in you, [for those who have suffered at the hands of travellers ] hence, I doubt you are a nurse as you lack the emotional qualifications as well as other requriements. Being a nurse doesnot give you respectability in the eyes of educated settled people. If you are a Nurse, then you have given your profession a diservice by your cheeky and arrogant attitude, you inability to take in information, to ignore facts put to you, not to be able to read the feedback which was genuine, and like I say , you do your community no service, I would be very wary and hate to think you are taking in information from a patient and writing that down/typing it in as so much of nursing today entails taking in information from the patient and putting it on record during your shift. I wont call you a Liar but you will notice people are gone from you now. You had a great opportunity to do some good for your community, but you didnt listen, read peoples replies, showed no give and take, called people Mate, an English expression which is not used on this site and is cheeky, and not conductive to good dialogue, in short you are like so many I have met , it is impossible to have a decent dialogue with you.
Oh by the way, I am meeting one of your Community today, a woman , married and we are great friends, she even admits there is problems within the community. She reads and writes and has had problems, she comes to me for healing. So realise you have alot to learn and maybe htis Xmas , go to Rathkeale and see all the porches and Cars from the Travellers who spend 10months away from their homes 'working' and selling generators abroad !! Now I will leave you be. God bless you and I hope that you find a nice partner. I wish your family health . I hope someday that our communities can live together in peace and understand each other.... i hope your community come to realise that they will have to contribute to the society that they live in. I wish all the sick children within the Travelling community well too as i realise the many many illnesses travelling children are prone to.

Stanley I remember my grandparents, Farmers [on a large scale] Equine but they had Chicken, etc., The chickens were fed properly and roamed around. [now called Free Range ] and we have to pay huge prices for the fact they dont live in cramped cages and sh-t on themselves, are fed corn to make them fat and taste like... taste dreadful. Ditto Rabbits, I agree but somebody who knows about shooting and kills cleanly. Pheasant shooting. I dont eat much meat myself... only Organic and Irish Farmers produce.
Buying Meat in Supermarkets labelled 'Irish' can just mean packed in Ireland and when you look closer you will see they are from Thailand or some other easter country. Ditto Seafood. Food just doesnt taste like it did when I was a kid. thinking of growing some small amounts of veggies in the Garden...

p.s. Part of your introduction refers to your going to Africa and raising money with others. who paid for this ? I already know the answer.... so many educatinal opportunites, including educatinal ones, have been supplied to you by the Settled community via their Taxes. If the majority of Irish people acted in a 'free' way [our Ethnic heritage] the country would be in no position to educate Travellers, to offer Outreach for those who opt out of School early and pay them to attend whilst offering skills to get jobs... I could go on... what would Ireland be like if everyone acted like the majority ( NOT ALL TRAVELLERS] but the majority... have you thought about it ? Do you get your nights sleep? for a long time I didnot why? because of incessant drinking at night, fights, feuds, shouting and generally savage behaviour, and yes there was looting, even plants stolen and roses dug up. Small saleable dogs stolen.... I wasnt going to go into all this but you have surpassed yourself in bigotry and an absolute insolent and intolerable refusal to face up to the real facts and I am sick sick sick of the Rascist 'poor me ' Card, particularly from a woman who is working as a nurses Aide now, and looking for a settled man !!! on a Dating Site that is not Pavee. Deriding and insulting people who have been on this site for some time, [and have made lots of friends] is not going to get you a man to date.... oh ! you quoted my private email in the beginning when I tried to be nice to you.... you never do that, its called being very rude.

Hi Cat, I take B12Tablets and I do eat Organic Eggs and Yoghurt, thats it I dont drink milk [it gives me Asthma]. I will sometimes buy a Chicken Breast but it has to be Organic where the Chicken had a decent life, outdoors and humanely killed. I refuse to eat Beef, Pork, I also dont eat Lobster or large Fish, sometimes I eat Tuna or Sardines.
I do this for Ethical reasons as factory farmed chicken, beef etc is cheap and on special offer but I couldnt live with myself it I did.

OnlyoneHeart, I am not online all day so no, I didnot see the latest posts but I am not suprised, but dissapointed, that once again, the people who have posted here, honestly, about their knowledge of Irish Travellers have been denied by a OP who declares she wants our comments but refuses to answer many legitmate and important questions about the actions and lifestyles [affluent and not working legally] of many of these people.
It is my informatin that you spoke to the op. I have also written to this lady, I have written in the first blog that I am friendly with some travellers and have worked for same. ~ your ideas have already been done, there is much here for the traveller who wishes to get a job after school and descrimination Card is pulled out to suit, A decent, hard working travller CAN get a job, and they do, after getting qualificatins in FAS and places like that. They get same access to Depression counselling and hospitals as we do and although we are under the same law, they get away with dumping and leaving thrash whereas we would be taken to court and fined heavily. By the way to answer your question, if the OP things or has made a decision via my decent and freindly posts to her in the first blog [which you need to read] then she is being very selective... my answers were truthful and I even wished her the best... again whinging and pulling out the pity card.
That is the reason why your suggestion will never work. These people willnot look at themselves. This Blog isnot about settled people,it isabout Travellers in Ireland. For a reasonably small amount, the level of brawling, anti social behaviour and crime is high. That cannot be denied. I do not hold grudges and have forgotten about the 5 girls. It was OPs reply and attitude that annoyed me more with 'thats only 5 people out of 40,000. Oh if it were only that simple !! have you seen the pictures of the dirt and filth left? have you read the answers of intellgent people who have lived beside them or had dealings with them? having written again... I now think it is time for Rosabella to come back on line and to become active in dialogue.... how does she think we can come together as people ? work together? they dont want to pay taxes like us, they dont want equality, certainly not when it comes to paying /contributing towards any of the things in Ireland that they use, roads, Childrens hospitals etc., YEs I get on very well with Travellers and have a great respect for the real Tradition, the marriage, the courtship, it is romantic, manymore things I mentioned in the last blog.

Like PeachMelba said in relation to the TV documentary, she is living down 'here' in the south. Even though I was involved in politics at an early age,I might have met 'famous' people, likd for instance Bernadette Devlin and many others of her ilk but I only heard their side of it. Ditto Loyalists. I do understand that a large proprotion wanted British Rule but we lived on basically 2nd class news and what we heard from those who went North at the time. Gerry Fit. All those, i remember them well.
It's easy now to call names but you had very bigoted Ulstermen,and people who lived in substandard housing [the Fenians] who couldnt get a job at Harland and Wolfe, so its not that easy to make comments from the seat here and type things that I myself didnot experience, like British Soldiers in my town carrying guns.. thats all I am saying. I didnot experience it. Nor the Rascism against Catholics, in may spheres of society. Anyway as we come up to the elections. Which I started this Thread for . My sad view is, that our country have sold out to the crouts.

I am told I am a dreadful flirt, I flirt with everyone, I love the banter, the fun, how easy it comes to me.... its part of me,I couldnt stop if I tried. There is an art to flirting... it brightens up a persons day.Try flirting with an elderly lady or man and you may be suprised at how adept they are at flirting right back... It gets your trees cut, Bertie Ahern was Irelands No1 Flirt, he did in with impunity... he will alwasy be remembered for speaking to you and flirting... Bill Clinton was an awful flirt. heck I love flirting... life can be too serious.

Stanley I respect your questions and that you have had no problems with the Travelling community within the confines of Kildare? You are entitled to your own personal experience,thats fine. However, I am entitled to my personal experience since i have had more than most, with travellers, living beside the, selling clothing to them. Trying to have them housed when I worked in a Centre for Landlord/Tenant and as a mediation /counselling person. Glatlol and others have had real, legitimate experiences and coming back with 'But there are 40,000 ' isnot an anwer, is not dialogue. I think you would do the woman a favour by stopping being condescending and let her answer the settled people who have had very bad experiences, of which there are many.... unless of course you are a spanner in the works, isnt there one on every blog

PeachMelba, the housing Bubble is well and truly on in Dublin, I have seen tiny one bed apartments go up in price in the past month from 80,000 to 160,00 in not great areas. Wexford/town and Gorey have shot up too, ditto Cork and Galway.... The Towns/Cities will continue to rise in price.
I think alot of people are living in quiet desparation, with negative equity in the futher out estates... and they are living without heat and basics just to pay for a roof over their heads. They are the opposite of the 'hand out merchants ''giz us a house people' who have been brought up that way, and encouraged to be dependent by the far leftwing Parties, for their own gain.

Hiya PeachMelba, I agree with you about the Water. Now it seems that Dublin and other major cities will be paying twice the amount that rural areas will be paying... it is dreadfully undair. The water is contaminated in many parts of the country, and has frequently been found to have various Coli. Bugs, and of course has Flouride w hich most people want taken out like other EC countries. Hope you werent washed out of it in Wexford last night !!

YES !So many have emigrated, are now married and have grandchildren, and apart from the odd meeting and having a catch-up and chat and coffee I rarely see them. Then there are the ones who are in relationships and you don't see much of them... I would like more single friends. for shopping, going to a movie, a few of us going for a night out, but women who don't have alot of money [like me] and who aren't heavy drinkers.

I do agree with you, we make decisions and we live with that... I regret not going abroad when I was young, but had to look after a relative who had reared me.[not my mother].... I do wish I was younger coz I would be out of here so fast. Being in my 60s, I suppose I have that fear now... what If I lose the friends I have, financial worries.
Hopefully , people are so pissed off they will vote some New Blood in and maybe, just maybe we could turn this country around. I think we have great people, watching Prime time last night, It was interesting to note how aggressive the interviewers have become and nobody was let off lightly. I think they represent the way people are feeling... Lets hope this Election makes a change and that Enda, the Water Charge fiasco [proper/functional piping would have been an intelligent thing to do before even thinking about charging], the quangos in the HSE etc., etc., hopefully there will be a cleanout. its a great country, we have great brains, local businesses in Rural areas , so much talent. Pheonix hard to implement that... so many people are doing ok thanks and wouldnt be the ones to be seen doing that...The majority or people here have a subservient nature, so much has been taken lying down, now the Watercharges when its not even drinkable in many counties, dying children with the Medical Card being taken off them. Quangos, I wont go on, its too depressing. The sad thing is, people wont do anything ,they will be afraid of change, just in case something happens... and the sheeps will vote inthe same crew or slightly different... same outcome. Sad.

I was brought up my my gran to fear it and my grandfather was scared too
They used to cover all the mirrors coz they said the mirrors attracted the lightning. I could pick up the fear from them as kids. Wish I could see it as romanctic

I think that if somebody hasnt put up a photo they have something to hide.Maybe that's not always true, but its not fair them coming on and looking and commenting on your photos and making remarks [even if complimentary] about your photos. It is not an equal playing field either, and I always think they are married or have something to hide.
I have a note on my profile. No photo, no Reply but its obvious alot of people dont read profiles... I also look at times... the married ones usually send the mail v late at night. the time their wife is asleep .

Pheonix I remember that quote, he could gain victory via the same route as Roger Garland did back in the 80s when people were so fed up with the Government, they kneejerked and voted in the Greens... the rest is history. SF are very overconfident. Mary Lou.... well yes, she was in the progressive Democrats before Sinn Fein and her accent became increasingly Dublin - esque, beforehand she had been distinctly middle class, so hard to take her seriously, also some pretty frightening and undignified comments re McConville /Adams being asked to attend for questioning at PSNI headquarters.
