Perhaps it has a timer ... mine can be set to turn on and off up to three times a day ... wake up to music, turns off when I leave the house, it's on again when I arrive home and turns itself off at bed time ( and there's a third program that dos different @ weekends.

On the other hand, maybe you're just a bit old n decrepit and so shakey that when you hit 'off' you're hitting 'on' again as well ?

I could mention DTs or dementia ... but I'm wayyyyy too polite !!!

The best moderation is always 'self - moderation' and ideally people would be a considerate as to what they post!

But we no longer live in a civilised society and the loony left (esp) seem to regard 'ordinary civility' impossible unless they hold power ... and one can only begin to imagine their excesses if they DO ever hold sway again ???

So far as MBs and the like - my own thoughts are that it's reasonable to expect the TA (Thread Author) or OP (Original Poster) to act as a 'responsible host' and to maintain order in their thread 'as if' the debate were taking place in their own home ...

Those who can't behave would soon find themselves no longer welcome and (the less dense) would simply not bother 'contributing' their negativity n BS ?

And, perhaps the Site Mods might 'take an interest' in who's threads were being well run and who was creating threads 'just for the sake of being controversial and stirring the muck?' Creating a ban on the creation of new threads might be a powerful tool to consider ...

I heard that the military are collecting stones ... to hurl at the would be illegal immigrants as the military dare not use their weapons (guns / tanks / whatever ) against them.

Being as the USA are no longer party to the ICC ... wonders why they'd be bothered ... it's not like cops don;t shoot innocent civilians every day in the USA, or that military don't kill civilians every day ?

Oh, yeah ... but that's 'not on American soil' so I guess it illustrates the depth of hypocrisy !

It often takes an older guy to be able to cope with 'certain women' ... a woman who expects to be treated in a more mature manner, who appreciates chivalry (and sees herself as deserving of the positive attention) and she herself of course needs a degree of maturity herself to cope with the oft voiced opinions of those who can't mind their own business.
My in-laws have a 23 years age gap, my ex and I had a 3 years gap ... they are still together after 38 years while ex and self parted co after 23 years.
That longevity speaks volumes in my opinion.
One of my mates just now is past 73 and dating a lading 20 years his younger who never married or lasted long in a relationship either for that matter. He's widowed with 2 divorces ( after long marriages ) prior to that and they've been together now a little over 3 years and looking good for the future.
But it ain't workable for everyone and I;ve not seen a 'real life example' of older woman younger man work out with more than a 3 years age difference.
