As you probably know, there was a time when the human race used to eat other human beings ( cannibalism) ,some cults still have the custom of drinking human blood ,the entire modern civilization resorts to killing people ( wars on bigger or smaller scale ) for various reasons As you can see, giving up on consuming animal flesh is a long process,its not something that can happen over night
