heres my two cents, When Irish was outlawed by the evil english its popularity grew and grew, but when we got our independence and it became a must to pass your leaving its popularity dropped completley, we still havent learned from this lesson, Irish is pretty much a dead language apart from gaeltach areas, now im not saying get rid altogether but make it optional in secondary school, that way its up to the person themselves, forcing it on people will not work, and the amount of money the government WASTE on translating documents is totally crazy because like i said its a dead language, now the easy way to rectify that is to put it on the internet and the very small percentage of people who want irish which i would guess to be less than 5% could print it off, problem solved we keep our language save money and hopefully people will get interested again, and for the people who choose not to do irish could actually do something more constructive like an I.T class or a useful language like spanish or french
