great thread. Here the counties come up with a budget. Many of the budgeted items are voted on by the genral public. Items like school improvements additional funding for pliace and firedepartments etc. etc. then the tax revenues are raised. Balanced budget every time. People have a say on what some of the money is spent for. No debts. It works.
I agree with you. the past administration was guilty of crimes against humanity. the poeple who voted for those clowns twice should not be allowed to vote until they pass a pshychiatric test they should also have to spend a week in Guantanamo Bay. Its funny how huge national debts are ok as long as we wage war and kill people. when it comes to human services, like national health care, these same people wonder where the money is coming from to fund the project. about 30 % of the US population are narcistic, lack empathy and dangerous. They are the base voters for the republican party.
I disagree. I am 62 years Old and am not bitter. I have plenty of friends, male and female all pretty happy people. The few angry people I have known, I have broken off with. My parents are both in their 80's and still have friends alive and none of these people seem bitter. I think on these forums, people who have been hirt and have issues that havent been delt with, would be the norm. but that dosnt represent the population in general.
U N 62 and have nothing to be bitter about. though looking and reflecting on my past, I see a lot of immaturity, many mistakes and alot chaos. However, it has been rich and full and never dull. I am comfortable with who I am today, not so sure if I can say that about the me from the earlier years. Howver, If I could do it all over I owuldnt change a thing. that includes my two marriages that ended in divorce. I am better off for all the experiences. The good the bad and the ugly are all apart of it, isnt it?
Old clothes. I dont hold on to much unless I have use for it. My history books, tennis equipment and computer. I do have an antique pump organ from 1898. still works ,but if someone wanted it I would give it away as it does take up a lot of room and I have noso use for it. that old song I keep on going back to, I got plenty of nuttin and nuttin is plenty for me.
High I am Bruce. I have been a member of CS for three months now. I spend mot of my time on the international and Eu forums. It is fun meeting people from all over the globe. I had given up on meeting any one localy using Cs. thus the other forums. I have made some pretty good friends. will spend more time here. Eu forum is losing members and more are hanging out in the international forum. Warmhearted, I think that it is great that you are trying to liven things up here. take care
No matter how you cut it, introverts do have problems with reltaionships. to into self they have problems letting people in and sharing more intimate thoughts. What you desrribe as superficial on the contrary my friend, it is the basis of human intamacy. People talking aobut themselves and shairng openly who they are with one another. Being able to talk aobut feelings and sharing with others is all very healthy.
Oops. the original Movie The Thing was in black and white and released in th 40's when so many of the classic horror movies where made. I dont think those audiences could have handled the horror movies from the late 70's to the present.
I thought the greatest sci-fi horror show of all time was the alien. when was that made, 1979? It still holds up pretty well. the more gory and visual movies have become the more desensitized we have become. when Jaws first came out, it was classified as horror. Now it is an action adventure story. Vampire movies have become almost cartoonish though they wouldnt appear that way to a 1940's audience.
