Well having served with AWDS on Javelins, Meteors Venoms, Vampires & Hunters and later on 74 as a sooty when we got the first ones in 1960 and as a member of Tiger association now the I can agree on that.

What I do not and will never accept which has cocked us up in the UK up from being allowed to operate Lightings here is the CAA. It is manned by a bunch of young politically correct puss heads who have never worked on aircraft in their lives and were not even a spunk bubble in their fathers ball bags when I and my colleagues here were working officially on the Queens toys and were taught by the SAS and para's to defend them at all costs with anything we could lay hands on if we were infiltrated by the Ruskies which was on the cards in the 50's. It was that serious especially as Lightnings were the fastest interceptors in the air capable of reaching 60,000 feet in less than two minutes , M<ach 1 in a 15 degree climb and the Javelin's which also had similar sensitive armament in the Fire steak.
I can verify they were capable of much higher speeds than the published Mach 2 and one could take out several Russian aircraft flying in close formation, so their spy planes were no problem.

I and a few colleagues here with that experience have met a few civvys who agree that they should not be allowed to fly and some even started a scrap over it recently where we go to a pub in Broadstairs, because we are hot on our subjects and still work on restoration of aircraft back to flying condition.

At present we are working on a Spitfire Mk 9, Vampire T11, A Yak 55 and a Sukhoi 31 sports/racing plane.
We naturally discuss them and will be happy to talk to any intelligent people about them.

OR you could do what I did - I went to Pitlochry with my late wife many many years ago on a Natiuonal Express Coach tour from here. While the rest of the coach went on a day tour of the area me and about 7 other chaps decidedto stay in the Town on the sub-tour instead - We went to the distilleries and got free samples o single malts AAAALL Day an a free 3 course lunch at finished up playin Crib at the Pine trees whwre we stayed overnight and as pisshed as farts :-)

Fact 1 - You look as if you are new on CS and your profile photo's do not show your face which is your right.

Fact 2 - The people to which you alude I suggest also have rights, have been here a good while longer, perhaps a year and longer without censorship from the moderators who make the rules.

Fact 3 - Most comments on the UK forums I suggest, are just good natured banter and humour. -
Fact 4 - Our threads IMO are far less provocative, abusive or agressive than many threads on the Internationals or we would have been censored as heavily as they have been by now.

Well said - I took a shufti too and thought the same about those Tigers. If they are not dead they are probably heavily drugged. Not a good start IMO

Judging by the women I get who have contacted me they say they are in Europe, the US or Canada.

They turn out to be from the Ukraine and Russia, Ghana or Nigeria and other West African states and obviously can't read or understand english very well.

The messages are all in lowercase, rambling, never marked by punctuation, they don't answer the previous message intelligently point by point, so in my book they are scamming and I bin them.
