I know nobody or nothing is perfect, Fire.

I'm just saying I'm holding out for a REAL gentleman, instead of getting myself into a nasty abusive relationship like with my ex-husband.

Guess I should have just worded it that way to start with.

We are all NOT getting any younger. WHY should any of us have to settle for less than what we want, or what we deserve in life?

I don't care what anyone looks like, but a personality goes a long way with me. I settled for almost 15 years, for the sake of my kids, and I've been alone now long enough to know that I'd rather be alone and lonely, than to BE WITH SOMEONE and STILL be lonely.

If the guy doesn't have a good personality, (and at least a little bit of wittiness), and enough smarts to hold a conversation, be compassionate, and be passionate, he just as well keep on truckin'.
I refuse to argue or fight with my mate, because life is to short for that crap. Maybe thats why I'm alone, I'm asking for to much, but I'm holding my ground.

I think what you did was a very loving and compassionate thing, and I know it must have broken your heart to do it.

I lost a dear friend of mine back in March to cancer, and it certainly tears you apart when all you can do is sit back and watch someone you love just "fade slowly away", and in constant pain.

I also love that song, and how in the world you were able to get the whole way through singing it, only God knows.

You and your friends are in my prayers. Thank you for being an inspiration, doing what some of us would not be able to do.

I miss my fiance', whom I loved with all my heart, who died suddenly in 2002. He took a big chunck of my heart with him when he got called to Heaven.
I miss my Daddy who passed away 15 days before I turned 13 (I was a Daddy's girl).
I miss my sister who died in 1983.
I miss all my Grandparents and my friends and other family members I've lost.

I just get out the poem I posted here on cs, "THE JOURNEY TO THE OTHER SIDE" that I wrote, and it helps to remind me they are all in a better place. I know I will see them all again one day, but still, I miss them dearly.

I know.. I used to tell my ex-husband ALL the time to quit doing that crap.. , that folks would swear I married a "funny bunny" . My God, & the man didn't even care where we were at when he decided he needed to scratch himself.
