I enjoy Christmas more as an adult than as a child. Growing up in a struggling family was tough. Granted we had it better than others but others had it much better than me..just a little bit jealous was I... Now I can enjoy the beautiful coloured lights, beautiful cards, the snow, singing in church, the pageants, unwrapping presents (this year I am going to have chocolate martinis)go to midnight mass..even though I am not Catholic...I pretend (and God has never struck me down). Though I am not crazy about cooking the turkey I am sure I'll be asked to do again.
Don't be rash young man. Slow down, think twice and then think again. All is not as bleak as it seems. Give of yourself, get out of your head, it is too dark at the moment to see reason. Give a helping hand and at the same take the hand that is offered.

Everyone (to me anyways)seems pretty young and don't have much in common. And some people seem to lack any sense of humour. And they are too slow with any good come backs. God I am bored.
Financial issues, how much something costs are subjects that one just doesn't discuss with strangers (and relatives)...ummmm my daddy said so and I have followed that advice all my life.

That is amazing that he got away with it. What kind of reaction did he get when he gave his speech. Was there tentative laughter or were people silently fuming. What an absolutely insulting speech. wow.
My father was a strict man. Speak only when spoken to, speak the truth and be honest with yourself and others. I have never sugar coated anything. Don't know how. If I don't want to hurt someones feelings then I don't say anything. The quotes I totally disagree with. I know I am blunt and if that is brutality..so be it.
you know what I hate this frigging computer. I type something, make some kind of keystroke error and it dissappears. sheeeeshhh.
