Baby steps
I own very little winter stuff.

I know and that is all I am going to say. I am not going to ruin your reputation on here 
We all want to be an islander! Yankees are people from up north in the states. And Snowbirds are the ones who either retire here to Florida or own two homes. One up north and winter here. I am native by birth. So I did have a chance to be anything else 
we use it in my area quite frequently to identify our selves and where we are located at in our county. Islander and mainlanders. We also use yankees and homegrown. Snowbirds and natives. Some do take offence to the latter two. With that being said I would like to use a phrase I have heard from childhood "Call me anything you want just don't call me late for dinner" 
my sister did not think it was such a good idea. I got bored here and headed over to Poetry Corner. And then the forums. I realized at that time (people actually had conversations, and the atmosphere was a little different) that there was a lot about the world that I did not know. There was a lot about me I also have learned from the forums. It killed many a lonely evening after my husband passed. I have made lasting friendships. I take what I want from here and leave the rest. I take the useful knowledge and the bs it just stays here I have less lonely evenings even tho I am still alone. And some of my personal growth I owe to here and the contributors. So thank you all for participating.
I think that was more in the 1980's. I never was on one. 
But I was on the Popeye the Sailor Man show when I was little. And I won their big prize that day the most gorgeous pair of roller skates a girl could want 
thinking of you and your co workers. Dan and the family of the deceased. Sending positive vibes your way. I believe every situation in life I did not want to face was meant for me to face. To walk through, to grow and if possible be of service to other humans who need my strength. 
Mine talk about me as if I was a good parent. They are grown too. I thought as myself as a disaster. Kind of like having Lucille Ball as a mother. Thank goodness for short memories. I am happy that I am here to see my grand children and two greats. That is what it is all about for me.

Could you please elaborate on this more. What is the name of said "party" and what will they want to accomplish? 
Will there be dancing and fun?
