I do so humbly apologise to you Tulefel, and beg forgiveness for having not thanked you for your good luck wish. So you may take this as a Thank You, a heartfelt great big thank you. Thank you.
However, tis not I, but the author of the book, the person who pout in 2 years of labour to produce it, who would like to enjoy the luck.
Most times in life it is good to try and help a person who has made an effort, and to give them some encouragement, which does not cost anything, except a tiny fraction of one`s time.
Oh dear me. Asking fellow forum members for support for a personal venture is classified, in your esteemed opinion, as "soliciting"?
Facebook is a widely used and extremely popular platform, and asking people to add their "Like" to it is an internationally accepted method of gaining support for small time ventures.
The publishing world of today has moved ahead and is influenced more by "clicks" on a link than any other motivational attempts budding authors are able to use.
And that is why I am taking advantage of this Forum to ask for this support.
If it does not appeal to individuals, they need to just ignore it.
Thank you for clicking this thread. Now, what I have to say is, I am most proud to present a New Book!
You all been waiting for me to publish my ...ahem ....books (?), but my son has beaten me to it ....... and his first book was published yesterday!
The title is "They call me Nightwalker" ... by R.van der Weide.
Now, you can buy the book by ordering online from the publishers at a lower introductory price, or you can also buy it in eBook form for reading on those new electronic book reading gadgets called a Kimbel or Kimble or whatever it`s called.
and join the group, and/or give your "Like" clicks.
All this is to help in further promotion for publishing, not so easy in this modern day and age for an unknown author to get his book promoted, he has to do it all himself (and his mother has to help him )
You know why? It cuts off the air supply to the burn.
I`ve found (after burning my hand on the bottom of a white hot pot left too long on the stove, and not thinking - being dumb) ... that to keep the burned area as cold as possible, for as long as possible until the burning stops (a whole day if necessary) leaves not even a scar - just dried out skin that eventually peels off.
It is better to not burn yourself, to treat hot things with care and thought and concentrate.
In the 1970`s Hal Lindsay wrote a book called "The Late Great Planet Earth" ...... interpreting the last book of the Bible, and it all is happening now.
At that time he also wrote that America was no longer a "super power" (America was not even mentioned in the prophesies)....... and how the East will move into the West (China is on the move already, financially) ..... and the Israelis are looking to fulfill their destinies with the Palestinians? ... with the wealthy Arab states looking on....?
The big "superpower" of the EU .......? aaaaaaaaaaahhhh oh yes ..... and then comes the "One world religion" - I wonder who that could be?
And while all that is going on, in the meantime, we are polluting 3 1/3 of our water supply (chemicals?), 1/3 of the oceans(oil and sulphates?), 1/3 of our food grains (GM?) ........ and 1/3 of the populations will be breaking out in "unhealable sores" (cancer/Aids?)
But never fear! To our rescue will come the Anti-Christ (perfect huh? a Godlike benevolent ruler) followed by his False Prophet(who makes miracles and calls it religion). And everyone will worship this Godlike fellow the Anti-Christ! And have his "mark" in your hand or forehead (a chip?) to enable one to trade/buy/sell. Failure to receive this mark will result in having your head chopped off.
And they will reign for 1,000 years.
The lucky ones will have died in the meantime, and chosen to go live on another planet in another galaxy.
Thanks, but that sort of stuff is daily in the SA news anyway.
The lates I heard tonight from my sister who lives there .... is that they having a problem in the hospitals lately. They keep finding dead bodies in odd places, like down laundry chutes, tucked away behind bins in odd corners, etc etc, and tis only when the smell hits them that they realise there`s another dead body hiding.
Oh yes .... now I remember .... I think .... that genteel old lady at his inaguration was the wife`s mother? She lives with them? (I think, again, hahaa ... too much thinking! not enough facts)
Ja, that is what I was saying ...... READ and understand the parables, and then there are no more mysteries about the Walk of Life. The ball is in each persons own court, to play or not to play.
Tule, whatever this has to do with this thread I have no idea ... But I had such a good laugh. Thanks. This is just SO real of what happens in that country down south!
Well of course I love the sea! I had to leave my own country and the sea where I lived, and now live in this landlocked country, but at least it`s a safe sort of country! (Part of the "receiving" after "giving" perhaps? ... a blessing?) (And I`ve been to your lovely little Island of Malta, and Goza)
But .... now you have to tell us what T.O.A.S.T. stands for? And what they do?
Well, Whitehorse, I must congratulate you on at least an interesting thread for discussion. I enjoyed reading the comments.
Usually I just log in here to play my favourite stupid games to see how high I can score! The rest has become boring ..... sort-of ....errr....banal?
I like the parables of Jesus in the Bible. They are just reminders of how we are supposed to BE.
Like the Good Samaritan. Heard many stupid idividual versions of that one..... because it`s not so easy to respond like we are supposed to?
The churches like to say our "brothers and sisters" are fellow church members! Hah!
Our "brothers and sisters" are all living creatures in need of help - hence the Good Samaritan story. The Good Samaritan, for those who think a Samaritan was some rich guy .... was the lowest of the lowest of humanity (in those olden days) ........ and he came across a fellow human who had been mugged and injured lying by the side of the road.
Before the Samaritan guy came along ...... the injured man had been passed by some Nobles, some good businessmen, a Priest (who actually crossed to the other side of the road) ..... until finally this Samaritan gung-ho dirty sod came along........
This dirty poor old sod tore his clothing to bandage the mugged guy, gave some of his wine to drink (wine was what they drank then, water was unavailable in the desert countries) ..... loaded him up on his mule and took him to a small hotel and paid all the money he had for the guy to be cared for, and promised to return to see if any extra monies were owing.
And the mugged guy did not even know the debt this poor man had gotten himself into, for his sake.
But now .... we are so civilized ... we don`t stop to help bleeding strangers in the streets, do we?
A MOST IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO EVERYONE HERE!
Danke Schön, Herr Conrad!
