Well ..... so far .... I got the hiking shoes .... the dancing shoes .......(just in case there`s music)...... and I got my ladylike swimsuit for the pool (heated, indoors)...... but I dont know what the weather is gonna be like ... hot or cold or just warm.....? ..... and what to wear to breakfast....?

And I packed a tin of sardines ... in case I miss dinner time......

I once had what I thought was a nice photo of myself ... in jeans and a normal summer top with shoestring straps ...... Juslaaik...anyone would have thought I`d posed in something "slinky" ! !! Had to remove it pronto as, like you say, the guys came out of the woodwork!!!

What do you mean when you say "pit bosses"?

I been on here a very long time, and the only unwritten rules I have found are that one should, as Charlie says, ignore what you dont like and in that way the particular thread gets shoved down the page and eventually ignored .... and the other is to be careful about how one words a Particular reply to something someone has written, as it can be misinterpreted, and cause angst to that person .... so actually what I`m trying to say is ..... and what helps me in personal attacks is to remember that not everyone has a "gift" of putting across their personal feelings and so come across sounding arrogant or hurtful, and to not take it personal ... just forge ahead with your own views.

After all ...we are ALL entitled to our OWN opinions!

Being "zapped" is what makes life interesting and gives one an opportunity to reply to the zapping.....

Being "ignored" ..... well .... that happens to most everyone at some stage....


Anyway ... I like what Charlie wrote .. he sums it all up pretty well! Stick around and let people get to know you.....

Charlie boy ...... we all love you! But ...... sometimes .. the written word comes across as different "sounding" to whoever is reading it, depending on their own frame of mind.

Everyone here who has commented to you ...... were not actually being nasty ... just picking up on things you wrote .... and maybe just missing how your own mind-set was at the time of writing (?)...... or you hit a nerve ...... or something not expecting to be hit ....?

But .. whenever anyone "picks on" a certain nationality .... well ..... you just have to expect some flack about it!

Well.... in my early days here I was all optimistic .... the whole world was my Oyster! .... and then when you begin to realise that there is something like the entire Pacific ocean between you ..... or a vast land mass you have to walk over ..... then you begin to look closer to home .... and closer ... and closer ... till you can meet them off the local train stop! hahahaaaa ...... and then ......

Haaaaaa...... I found someone right in my own village! Been here for the last 5 years .....! I just thought there was some miraculous Super Man "out there" ... and when all the Super-Men turned into little fat married men or long tall skinny Pseudo-Macho`s ..... and I`d given up ALL hope and resigned myself to growing into a little bent old lady driving a Zimmer-frame around town ..... up came this Most Deletable Man!!! Surprise!!!

So ..... moral of my story is ..... This here site gives you things like friendship, support, ideas, a place to hash out your problems, gives you more self-confidence, you learn to know what it is you are actually seeking in a person .......... and then you find them/him/her/whatever .... right where you are at.....

Old fashioned biblical saying "You are where you are because that is where you are meant to be".....

And .. you NEED friends .... in this interim period ..... and you never know what tomorrow may bring!

Ja, perfume is pleasant. As long as its just a Perfume!

There`s been times when I`ve had to move to the other end of a train carriage to be able to breath after some female has sat down, who obviously had doused herself in something toxic smelling ... that she thought was perfume... ... waving the newspaper around would not even disperse the overpowering aroma!

...........oOo...........going off topic but topic related ......an interesting thing I have observed lately, since the No Smoking in Drinking Pubs....

This village used to have 15 pubs a few years ago ...... and now we have 3. (Last week we had 4, but the owner sold the building to a developer and is taking over another one .. where they got past the smoking law cause their pub is bigger than 1/3 of the restaurant part! So now ... THAT will be the only pub where smokers can go drink in peace!)

And all three have empty rooms, now, where everyone used to sit drinking and smoking....

Everyone sits either in the tiny little "Fumoire" room ... (cause smokers are more interesting and sociable..?)...or they sit outdoors if the weather is fine.

BUT I want to know this: WHERE are all the non-smokers who should be patronising the now clean smoke free pubs?... instead of the pubs going bankrupt?

Take no notice of this bunch of lunatics and their Fantasy Dungeon ..... they are actually a bunch of highly intelligent people and use this forum to relax and let their hair down, inbetween working hard all day at their highly complex individual occupations.... well some of them anyway .... and some of them do other things .... but they are all very nice people and actually quite normal ... well, sort-of normal ... most of the time. Of course some of them are real lunatics, but only some of them, very few actually, but even those are quite nice, in a lunatic sort-of way.
