Money and success are important. You know why? It affirms our ego.

It is the LOVE of money that is harmful. Money is an entity. And entities are always out of our reach when we desire them.

And success? We cannot cope with too much success. Just look at what it does to superstars and politicians.

To have enough money to be able to eat, keep warm, have a comfortable place to sleep - that is enough.

Success is in small things. I am trying to grow Sweet Potatoes - and I think I have success, maybe, I keep hoping for success. Maybe next year I have my own Sweet Potatoes! Then I will be successful!

If someone buys one of my paintings .... then I am successful too!

Meat should NOT be the main ingredient to your food - it is just to add flavour to the vegetables! Meat takes 72 hours to leave the body - that is what?..... 3 days?! So, it rots in the guts.
Vegetables take about 6 hours - and contains the building blocks for your body.
Only creatures with short intestines should eat meat every day. Humans have looooong intestines - meant to digest fibrous vegetables/fruits/nuts/grasses.

So when you`re feeling hungry go out and mow the lawn with your teeth........hahaaaaaa

aahh hahahaaa..... I was making a joke!

I am so lucky - boyfriend cooks very well. But he is working, so he has the delightful experience of eating my food - He loves what I make, we both like the same sort of food.

That is what I was saying in that other thread of Steevyv`s - that you have to learn to choose your partner, make sure you both are happy with whatever is important.

Today I baked bread - we bake 2kg of bread every 2 weeks.... (See what I mean?...we both like our home-made bread and it does not have to be fresh, we both like stale old bread, hahaaa)
Anyway, it did not come out as it usually does - today was a bit "flat" - but it makes no difference - we both enjoy our bread, whatever it`s shape. Just lucky when it comes out "perfect"!

Okay, so you were welcomed here on about the 12th July, and it`s now the middle of August, and you have vanished. That is not the way to meet a nice young lady to spend your future with!

No, I am right. I always am.

You chose your partner wrongly, unfortunately for you, and now you have to eat her garbage, put up with her smelly breath, and sloppy ways, and no housecleaning, and raucus laughter, and getting drunk, and dropping ash all over the house, and eating crumbly things in bed, and other things you maybe don`t like?

Actually you don`t really HAVE to eat it. Just tell her what you would like, and she should prepare THAT for you.

I also do not eat "garbage" type food. If others are eating "garbage" food, then I make my own food.

When I choose a partner, I make sure of things. Oh maybe that just comes with age and wisdom? ......Because you see, some people grow old and get wiser, and some just grow older and keep making the same mistakes?

Chuck her out, cook your own food, or go back to your Mom?

You know I grew up in the old Yugoslavia in the 70's and 80's and we heard stories about the old ways of life from hundreds of years ago and I thought it was just a folklore story to scare young girls, but I guess I was wrong, very wrong, and ashamed to say that we are from the same Country.
And just so you know, maybe women cook more, but men are better cooks- chefs in the World



Well, darl, you did say, as in red above ..... that you grew up in the old Zugoslavia in the 70`s and 80`s blah blah blah.... etc.... and that you were wrong about something, and did not explain WHY, so I asked you. That is not an "attack" - that is a question.

The first part of my reply was to ask you that question.

The second part was trying to explain WHY women cook. They HAVE to - every day. They have no choice.

Men cook when they FEEL like it. BIG difference, hey?

I enjoy cleaning my car, WHEN I feel like cleaning it. If I had to clean it every day, I will soon get bored. Hey? Is there something tha you do because you HAVE to do it? Do you always enjoy it?

I do apologise to you that perhaps you misunderstood me, I really did not mean to "attack" you, only ask the question about your growing up and being wrong to believe "something". I want to know what that something is?

It`s much like saying if you live in South Africa and speak Afrikaans, that you can also speak Dutch! Although derived from Dutch, and German, the Afrikaans language is vastly different!

Why can`t I learn the two different languages? One cannot reside in Switzerland without learning the spoken language of one`s Canton.

In Switzerland, the German side, the language is Swiss-German.

You first (usually) learn High German, and then once that is mastered, one can progress to Swiss-German. Some talented folk are able to learn Swiss-German (Swiizerdeutsch) first, but only those with Lingua talent. For dumb-asses like me, as a foreigner, I had to first learn to speak/read/write High German.

But Swiss-German sounds completely different, I love the sound of it - I am able to understand it, but learning to speak it is more difficult, but I`m getting there!

If you are unaware of the languages of CH, there are other dialects spoken too, all completely different from each other depending on which countries CH borders. And then there is Romantsch, which sounds like .... dunno .... something really strange .... and mountain like ...very Celtic ....?

There is also an ancient old saying: "If you don`t know what you`re talking about, tis better to remain silent and be thought intelligent, rather than say something that tells all you`re a fool" - So, moral of that is, if you have to try and act intelligent, only do so when sure of your facts!

Yes, women cook more, because they have to cook - or eat cornflakes?

Why do men cook better? Men cook "better" because men don`t care how many ingredients they use! They will use ALL the tomatoes, or ALL the onions, and they use whatever they want to.... the best cuts of meat. PLUS, they don`t cook that often, so when they do, it`s like "Hey! Look at me! I`M COOKING! You`re all SO lucky!"
And men use ALL the pots and pans and dishes, as the woman is expected to clean up after them.

Women don`t do that. Women think about tomorrow, or the budget, or what is more healthy ........ and they don`t dirty the kitchen while cooking! She won`t expect someone to go drive 20km to buy a special ingredient, she does without it.

And in the end - if man doesn`t like the food, then he just simply is not hungry enough! As most men seem to have huge bellies these days, I think they have begun to eat as a way of life, and not to stay alive?

Oh yes! Me too. But I just gave old Steevyv the benefit of the doubt and allowed him his lapse in memory.
Last time he upped his income to 150,000 whatever and complained about all the scammers now writing to him.
So now he`s married and not happy with his wife`s cooking?
He`s probably married anyway - and after all these years on this site still hasn`t found a new chicky-boo to replace the old bag - so now he`s looking for someone who can cook like his Mom?

Not Spanish? The Conquistadors or whatever they called themselves, from Spain, didn`t they invade (discover) South America?.. they found all that gold of the Incas and Mayans....? and exchanged their language for it?...and their religion.

Interesting that. I think they told the Mayans/Incas that they now had to be virgins, and to "give their hearts to the Son of God" ...... so the Mayans/Incas (whichever came first) cut the hearts out of virgins (and others worthy of the deed), and then offered the hearts to the Sun (their God)... and then ate them.
And so then they were called "savages".

They should have been taught to first read and write in English or Spanish or whatever, so they could tell the difference between "Sun" and "Son"?

Anyway, I now go to Google what is the official language of Brazil. I`m pretty darn sure it must be Spanish! Somehow Portuguese doesn`t go too good with the Rio Carnival fiesta ..... more like Spanish!

Portuguese is the language of Mozambique, Spanish is the language of Brazil, and England, America, Canada and Australia are all English speaking.

Angola...? Well, I guess they have an African dialect for there, much like the eleven various dialects of South Africa?

There is probably also an African dialect for Mozambique, and the forum member Cristina will know which that is, if there is one.

Oh yes ..... Dog language I also speak very well! Well, at least dogs seem to understand me - must be an international language because doesnt matter if it`s a german or english or arabian dog - it still understands what I tell it!

Oh we`re all criminals - to different degrees. Taking something out of the air and using it ..... mmmmmm...?...... I think that`s on the lesser side of criminality.

I know folk who don`t work, don`t want to work, and live off other people`s income tax in the form of "Social Help". They`re supposed to find work, and then that pay is deducted from their S/Help money ..... so they prefer to not work. Now that is being a parasite, I think.

Everyone here is SO talented!

It`s taken me about 8 years to just learn this German stuff, and I still battle with the Swiss-German dialect! Can understand the dialect but can only speak a few words of it - hard to get the tongue around the dialect!

In SA, when I learned to speak Zulu, the instructor, a lovely big black dude, made us hold a mirror in front of our faces, and said "as you speak Zulu, your lips must go out and touch the mirror" - aaahhhhh....... I got it perfect after that, the pronunciation is all in how you hold your mouth and lips!

With Swiss-German it seems to be about not moving your mouth - you keep it frozen stiff and utter from down in the throat with lots of ggghhhhs.

There is also a difference where members here openly state they are in a relationship - and here just from habit/their forum friends/etc. At least if you read that about them, then you know what their situation is, huh?
