RE: Last thing that made you laugh ?

Im laughing at myself for once thinking I could meet someone genuine on this site

RE: what is your fear on and off in life?

Its not death most people should fear but rather never beginning to live. I figure my life after death will feel much like it did before I was born.
I will return to being stardust in the milky way galaxy and my atoms will have life eternal -halleluiahlaugh I got no complaints

RE: is there any point in feeling bad? when there is no reason too...

life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone - Brian Adams -

RE: What if we had let the banks go?....

I think Fianna Fail felt they had no option but to do ECB bidding. They knew that getting bailed out was their only hope of avoiding drastic immediate cuts. All those pampered by the Celtic tiger years would have been enraged and voted them out. So Fianna Fail did what they thought was their best option to minimise their dramitic fall in popularity. They got hammered anyway by the two right wing parties Fine Gael and Labour.

RE: Irish people being held in Cairo hypocrites?

Maybe she went into the moske to prayrolling on the floor laughing

RE: ever lasting life

When I was 10 years old my mother told me about Santa; Its a pity nobody told her about God!!

RE: Don't give up

I joined CS about three years ago as well and consider it the biggest load of dog's dung I have ever being part of. I only recommend it in moments of extreme boredom.

RE: would you like to live forever?

I don't want to live forever but the atoms that make up my body will remain forever as stardust in some part of the universe and that's good enough for me. I am gratefull to my parents to have this "short warm moment" called life before I return to the "long cold rest" called forever.

RE: Margaret Thatcher RIP

Well I think you are as Irish as those who are trying to say you are not. Like you I am Northern Irish as well and I will never accept the intrusion of Britain in Ireland.

RE: What will cause the fall of USA?

The following are my opinions as to why the US may loose its preeminence as a world superpower:

Contstrained by a 240 year old Constitution which seeks to rule by consensus.
Inability to grapple with the 16 trillion dollar defecit in a way that is not partisan.
A military idustrial complex that bleeds the wealth of the nation.
Military actions that make the US appear weak when abandoned or expand insurgencies when bungled.
Foreign & domestic policy influence by lobbies with primary allegiance to a foreign Government.
Failure to maintain and expand infrastructure.
Failure to tax Warren Buffet types at the same rate as their secretaries.

I do not believe that the US will ever fall but it will have to equally share the stage with half a dozen or so economic powerhouses in the coming decades and onwards. I do not see any evidence from the current Republican or Democratic party that leads me to a brighter conclusion.

RE: Sofar, Aliens & Ireland

I think the 1937 Constitution should be scrapped and a new one created that serves the interests of the people of Ireland.

RE: literally

I would put up with more crap from a woman that gave a good blo job than one who refrains from such sinful actionsgrin

RE: Croke Park II?

Ah no I was thinking more Michael O Leary!

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

Are you sure you not Willie Frazer?

RE: Has anyone of you guys ever actually SEEN a russian date LIVE.

I had a Russian girlfriend in 1994 who I consider to have been the best "physically" of any woman I've been with before or since. To think I left her for a beautiful schizo bi polar Irish woman - A definite error of judgement on my part.

RE: Occupied six counties...

Why not have them temporarily adopted into a Shinner family so that they could be deprogrammed and realise that they are not superior to Catholics. Perhaps they could wear a teashirt during the transition period with a Union Jack on the back and a tricolour on the front

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

Those loyalists are not very loyal.

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

Well I'm Northern Irish and ive never been called a thug, acted like a thug or talked like a thug.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut '27 killed'

That's the same as here. I only have a double barrelled shotgun now. All I know is that when the citizenry loose a right they never get it back.

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

exactly! and close to spot on

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

If I went bankrupt tomorrow the bank would reposess the house and sell it at a profit!!

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

It will only be for as long as necessary until we reach a point where we only spend what we take in. Some call it austerity I call it financial corrective action. However I am angry when I see the vulnerable being hit. I also disagree with the carte blanc that Fianna Fail gave Anglo Irish bank. I suppose they didnt want to bite the hand that feeds them. I commend the Troika for making the Government do what they should have been doing anyway - Learning to live within our means.

RE: Just when you thought we couldn't sink any lower!

If the Government didnt have to pay money to non vulnerable people who are work shy there would be no need to stoop this low to find money. Im angry about it too and would say Im even more angry than you!

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut '27 killed'

Mental health is the real issue to be tackled but this will be relegated to the back burner and the possesion of firearms as usual become the convenient scapegoat for those who wish to further their own aims.

RE: Occupied six counties...

Well I fully agree with the sentiments expressed by Phoenix and Witty. The main reasons for the troubles in Ireland were the long usurption of the rights of the indigenous Irish people firstly by the British and then by their artifically created Unionist statelet. You say the only reason she is alive today is because of the Brits and the protection they gave her. I would like you to expand or clarify the senario you envisage, that makes that a relevent comment in your opinion. I for one feel that the 26 counties abandoned their fellow Irishmen and women in (six counties) 1922 and only a resurgent IRA in 1971 changed the shameful status quo

RE: Occupied six counties...

I see myself as Northern Irish because of my geographical location but that doesent dilute my Irishness any, same way as you are Western Irish in my opinion

RE: Occupied six counties...

It is my impression that the assasination of Sinn Fein councillors, lawers who defended republicans and suspected OC's was a systemic agenda to weaken the Republican insurgency and goes to the higest levels in 1980's and 1990's British Establishment. My own counciller at the time Eddie Fullerton met a similar fate.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut '27 killed'

Obviously you have never heard of coollateral damage from carpet bombing. Eg B52 usage in all recent conflicts from 1965 - 2012

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut '27 killed'

I think the real problem is unstable kids growing up in either disfunctional families is part of the problem. I think the second reason is unstable kids being over pampered growing up. This results in a small minority going into meltdown when they are met with a firm no at a later date.
Im against banning guns and resent the fact that I'm limited in Ireland to my choice of gun, wheras whilst living in US I didnt have that problem. The problem is not the guns but in the individual. The left will go on another crusade to ban guns whilst ignoring the underlying problems in another futile crusade.
