Without respect and trust, there can be no relationship!! ... I think the sense of not trusting a person or not being trusted comes loooooooooong before resorting to such an action such as snooping!!!
If a feeling of mistrust comes up then it's gotta be communicated and resolved... when folks resort to snooping, it's a violation and an immaturity of sorts IMO
Resistance to change can and will trap any of us into the arms of unhappy and alone... instead I embrace change every chance I get because I have learned the only thing that stays the same 'IS' change!!!!
I have learned to respond in an 'Assertive' way when reacting to 'Aggressive' or 'Passive' behaviour.
I have learned and will only 'Trust' to let those who can reciprocate the same 'Assertiveness' into my life or I keep a safe distance if they haven't evolved to this level yet
Lets do the math...
Aggressive + Passive = Bullying
Aggressive + Aggressive = War
Passive + Passive = No Passion
Assertive + Assertive = Calm, Resolve, Love, Joy, Peace, Happiness... Shall I go on??
It's amazing how many passive, aggressive or passive/aggressive people (not just men) are out there that haven't obviously learned how to be Calm & Assertive yet!!
Having said that, it did take me 35 yrs of experience to learn it too so I guess if parents don't teach it to their kids via role modelling this stuff (as I have with my own kids) then we got to learn the hard way as I did

I like technology in the way it connects us to so much more these days than when i was growing up but like everything in this world, we all have to enjoy but proceed with caution.
At the end of the day i had to put the feelers out and ask questions b'cos sometimes it all gets lost in the misunderstanding of the rules, boundries and limits and everything we do including the internet has them. The trick is in keeping an open mind for discussion and making an informed decision as to how best to approach these matters
