Yes, you will be able to smell things more intensely, food tastes better and you'll be able to take a deep breath without that little wheezing sound (if you have that yet).
When I was 22 and at work one day, someone told a joke. I laughed so hard, but then couldn't stop wheezing! It was totally embarassing. That is the day I quit for good, cold turkey. I bought a few bags of hard candy and I think temporarily took up knitting or something, to keep my hands busy.
I did not gain a bunch of weight. The wheezing stopped, and so did the coughing in the morning. After a few days, I was driving to work and actually smelled the pollution when getting on the freeway. It was bittersweet.
I did crave cigs for two years after quitting. I did not cave in, because in addition to the wheezing, I had seen a documentary on how it ages your skin much faster and thought about that.
It's mind over matter, after the first few days, it's mostly in your head.
Three weeks ago, my mother was coughing SO badly, she has had only three cigarettes since then. Every time she has one, she coughs for hours, and she smoked 65 years, and has virtually quit.
Soooo are we saying that Thanksgiving should be just AFTER Christmas? Then we can really decide if we are thankful.
We barely do Christmas here, my younger son's request. He doesn't like what it is, commercials from Halloween until New Year's, money, people going into debt???? Makes no sense. We acknowledge the reason, exchange one quality item, and have a nice dinner!
What do you mean by cruel? Rejecting you because you are not who they are looking for? Your idea of cruel may be very different from what others see as "cruel"
I don't even know if anything online is cruel! It may just be a simple rejection.
Isn't that something that has to be done face to face?
They realize you are not the one they are looking for, so they don't want to waste their time or your time.
Kat, You have described my life. Yes, Home Depot, WalMart, except you left out the grocery store as an outing. If it were not for my 17 year old, I think I'd jump off a high bridge after calling someone to take care of my mother. I'm not asking if I'm a lost cause, I already know I am.
Hi Jamie, I hope you will find some kind of professional help to stop yourself from harming yourself.
I lived with someone for three years whose mother did this to herself. After living with this man and seeing how he was brought up, how his father brought him up, and headed the family, I think his mother did this to herself because it was the only control over her life that she had.
There are positive ways of having control over your life and yourself. Please try to find some of them.
RE: smoking and quiting---what is it?
