what do you think of do you think of andy warhol? his images were mass produced. leonardo da vinci's images have been mass produced, it is unwise to scoff at current popular culture and not give it any credit. besides as i pointed out already - it's not for you to decide what is passed on from our generation. i myself enjoy both classical and rock music, i am a huge fan of van gogh and carravagio and a lot more besides.
bear in mind that your painting's may be considered child's play to some observers! culture cannot remain static, people have a lot of past culture to chose from. just because someone you converse with has not heard of beethoven doesn't mean they have never heard of elgar. you can't possibly expect everyone to appreciate and know every single piece of culture that you appreciate and know. culture to me is something to be enjoyed and shared for pleasure like ice cream. the strongest will prevail as always because it is admired, shared and enjoyed more. some of the advertising and music videos that are being produced today, may in the future be regarded as part of the culture of our generation. people have the capacity to absorb, retain and appreciate more than you might realise.
my 12 year old nephew can paint, that doesn't mean what he paints is 'high art' not everything goes, there are movements in culture like brutalism in architecture. at the time of these 'movements' the people who existed didn't necessarily like what was happening. there is a tv culture i don't like - yet it exists. our generations lasting input into the overall culture of these subjects will not be chosen by us, but future generations. so why bust a gut over it?
i actually don't watch TV it's mostly rubbish. i love a couple of different types of culture but you are not making it clear what you want to discuss. if you want to talk about 'high culture' aka the arts, or anthropological culture. if you want to start a proper discussion you will have to be CLEARER and answer questions not start whining..someone will offer you cheese soon enough!
if only there was such a thing as a stupid thread filter.. i love prince clicks but sometimes it's just too repetitive..then other posters could start threads all day and they'd still be interesting.
i used to watch blue peter and i believe there was this thing you could put together with some double sided sticky tape, a fairy washing up liquid bottle, some lollipop sticks and a scammer and play with it for hours spinning it around...
RE: Most Deadly Moment In Your Life???
