RE: Sweden

What about the different dialects in Paris arrondissements? I've heard that you can be bullied and harassed if you come from the "wrong" one.

RE: The world is changing

What if the world is the cake, and everyone wants too big piece of that cake?

But it's really interesting that you mention "value". What is value for you Conrad?

RE: The world has become one country. Which president would you cast your vote for?

RE: The world has become one country. Which president would you cast your vote for?

I vote for Slavoj Žižek.

RE: Message in a bottle...

I would write this message:

Give me your hungry, your tired your poor I'll piss on 'em
that's what the Statue of Bigotry says
Your poor huddled masses, let's club 'em to death
and get it over with and just dump 'em on the boulevard

RE: Sweden

In Sweden it's common to say that it does NOT exist a typical swedish culture. Everything, and really EVERYTHING came from another country. Nothing is original. So there are no culture to be saved.
I was born in Sweden, so I know how common this thinking is.
But travel to Norway, where I now live, and suddenly you can read about Norwegian culture in every magazine and newspaper. That's strange.

RE: Are jobs a thing of the past?

This is something the next generation growing up will have to solve.
Listen to what speed theorist Paul Virilio has to say.

RE: Are jobs a thing of the past?

"Financial problems of the major markets may reduce growth of the world economy or even cause a recession. This may result in decreasing investments also in robotics. In that case, planned investments might be restrained for a while. The trend towards automation will continue at a later point in order to increase productivity, profitability and to guarantee sustainability of industrial production."

You are the detective minh oi.

RE: Are jobs a thing of the past?

?"...analysts insist that Chinese factories have to become more automated to compete in the global market...
In fact, industrial robots are already cheaper than workers in China's eastern regions"

RE: The world is changing

You are right on the spot Scubadiva. The selfish society is a ticking bomb and is also the target for marketing campaigns. Because a selfish human being wants stuff, and often before anyone else have it. Just to be able to brag about it. And I believe that some people thinks that to be selfish means to have integrity.
How stupid isn't that?

RE: Apple went crazy

Maybe you already saw the movie "Antitrust", where Tim Robbins plays Bill Gates. He is developing satellite technology in the film. This is a very underestimated movie.

RE: Apple went crazy

You are someway right again, but all this products, programs, softwares, gadgets and apps hysteria is that good for our cvilization? What are we doing to ourselves when we competing within our own species in this way? Yes, Darwin talked about the survival of the fittest. But do we have to extend that into extreme?
So Apple and Microsoft should compete to death because it would be cheaper for us?
But what about physical products? If you haven't seen "The Light Bulb Conspiracy", it's time now.

And choosing between Microsoft and Apple, I choose the philantropical mentality that comes from Microsoft's Bill Gates. There is nothing noble in getting rich, when so many people in the world live on less than 1$ a day.

RE: post ur best movie sountracks

I love this song.

RE: Apple went crazy

Ok, I agree with you that facts should be correct.

But in my opinion APPLE TOOK REDUNDANT IDEAS AND MADE THEM WORSE!!!
Ugly, slow and locked in softwares. Is that the future of computers?
I don't think so. Open Source and Free Software is something worth fighting for.

I could make a long list of excellent programs that you find in GNU/Linux, but can't find in Microsoft's or Apple's products. But I will not do it, you will have to find out yourselves. And sooner or later you will...

The litmus test of a religion is how it values a single human being and his/her mistakes.
Burning "holy" scriptures is crazy, like burning joss paper in Asia.

Great job Maddog!!!

This person answered in one of my polls:

If I just could remember which profie that was used then, because it was not this profile with this picture.

RE: What would you do if you learn your guy is a CS member?

The question is wether he is active on the forums or writing blogposts. If not, then he is here for viewing potential women.

I'm in a relationship and we are both still here, because of the forums and the blogs.

RE: What do you like in breakfast?

Coffee and norwegian bread, which isn't sweetened as in Sweden.
